This bike is SO out of it's element here, but still could be a fun test! 😉 🏁
- 85kg rider with gear.
- +10C / 50F
- 21h on the bike
- Fresh Twin Air filter
Since this is the Erzbergrodeo it has a lower gearing than stock.
I use Airmousse in the tires that doesn't help acceleration either.
Still the stock Metzeler 6 Days Extreme Enduro tires that has a high rolling resistance - compared to SuperMoto tire for instance.
The bike is built for enduro and tight trails - hence the lower gearing and the FMF Gnarly pipe that premieres low and middle torque while loosing a bit off top end.
The exhaust valve is in its stock position.

How do you use the rear brake?
And what if your e start doesn't work how do you start it?

You can spot it in the video. I have both clutch and rear brake on the left. One finger for each.

All new KTMs have electric start only.

But you don’t have to clutch to brake unless coming to a stop. And on the Clake Two you can adjust how much clutch you won’t when just pulling on the brake lever - pretty clever stuff.

what gearing is that 13/50?
It’s the stock gearing so I believe so.
How top speed KMH
As it says in the video: 133 km/h
This bike is not about top speed. 😉
2 strokes built for high rpm’s and top speed 4 strokes are for the lower curve
I beg to differ. You want a 4T on open terrain, when going fast. Like on a gravel road you miss the grunt of 450 4T when your on a 300 2T.
The 2T is for when things get gnarly. You can lug them and they tractor on. Where a 4T will flame out and be hard to start.
That’s why most people run 2T in hard enduro.
I’ve had both and now run with a 300 2T.
When they port it, the only minor side of 2 stroke are the emission 🤣
Im dissapointed. i thought a 300cc 2 stroke would be much faster. For example my duke 390 does 4.91 seconds to 0-100kmh to gps...
The Erzbergrodeo is geared lower than an normal 300 makes you shift gears more often and loosing time. But they are around here.
Not meant for street. It’s plenty quicker than your 390 in the woods. 😉
If geared right and a little bit tuned it can go below 4.3 seconds and will destroy any duke 125, 390 and even 700 in tighter twisties
Ppl who complain about acceleration has not driven 300 2t.
I actually thought it would be quicker.
But it’s geared down - being an Erzbergrodeo version. So that doesn’t help.
I have a Sherco 300 SE Factory 2023 now. I’ll test that the same way and see if there’s a difference.
This thing is faster than my 125 duke and is not even meant for asphalt 😭😭
its 300cc 2 stroke why are you even comparing a duke 125 to this?
It has around 60hp so it’s kind of expected. 😉
So the acceleration is bad and the top speed is slow as hell. But it still got good torque 🤷🏻♂️

2 stroke is build for low and mid torque hahaha

Aha. Now I understand what you mean.
I didn’t say two stroke in general. I referred to this bike in particular. I’ve built it - so I should now. Exhaust and ECU is changed and optimized for low end torque and mid-range, because that’s what I need. Which of course hurts acceleration and top speed.
