      Did you warm up your engine, turn it off let it cool and tighten your headstuds again? If you don’t, within 200 miles about 2-3 nuts will loosen themselves up or studs will slightly loosen. After this final torque should be good to go! (Some people don’t do this some people do)

      @@jameshunt5316 is that due to head lift? Thanks and to use a D series manual transmission with a B series engine you just need to weld metal onto the block and then tap two transmission bolt holes correct?

    • @jameshunt5316
      @jameshunt5316 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BoostedPastime it’s what causes head lift in d and b series. Almost impossible but a fresh from factory head would get you the best results to prevent head lift. Everytime it’s shaven flat by a machinist the cylinder gets that much smaller. You can compensate with thicker head gaskets but only so far… as for the second I’m not sure but there’s plenty of documentation either on TH-cam or one of the Honda forums I’d think you could find something where someone’s done it

    Why can’t you break in an engine with synthetic?

    • @TexasHondaChannel
      @TexasHondaChannel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Dustin Ninja In these older engines the break in is necessary to remove any metal flashing or abrasive material left inside the engine after machining as well as to allow the rings to "seat" properly. Today's engines are built with tighter tolerances so you could use full synthetic during a break in because the improved machining and under cleaner conditions compared to the engines of 10 or 20 years ago. Current engine manufacturing technology does not require a break-in period using petroleum-based motor oils.
