Good to see somebody who doesn't mind working on a car that's not top notch! Although, even I gotta admit, that car wasn't quite ready for a dyno yet lol. My brother and I recently took his little Kia Spectra 1.8L to the only dyno shop in town, because we wanted to get some baseline numbers for the NA motor before adding a turbo, and to make sure we had the timing dialed in pretty well. It is mostly all stock with just a hand ported head, and we swapped out the factory ECU with a Speeduino DIY ECU, and I'm doing all the tuning myself (I have some self taught tuning knowledge from a few years back). The dyno shop was giving us crap because it was a "bone stock slow cheap kia" and was just rude in general about everything. We didn't even need them to do any of the tuning, I was doing all that myself, they just had to click the dyno button to start/stop runs! Long story short, the fuel and timing were pretty much bang on, only needing some small fine tuning, and now we're in the process of turboing it.
You can teach a good lesson with ether a good or bad example. This is great so people will see how silly they look doing even a few of these mistakes on their builds. This one is just crazy tho 😂

I've been watching your videos for awhile, paired with a lot of other honda youtubers it has made me want to learn to tune a little bit. You've always provided lots of helpful tips and how-tos. I went looking in my tune from when it was dyno'd and i'm impressed it's stayed together 😂 On the limiter where it lives, the guy has 24.5deg of timing at 12psi on pump gas. Stock b16 engine hahah. Gonna need to fix that up. Thanks for your contributions to youtube and the community! Even when it gets overwhelming it doesn't go unnoticed.
Ya just tell him straight up honestly, its a really good idea to pull the head and drop the pan and put vitaras and rods in that thing asap because of course we all know its not going to last long.

With the Huntertuned 1000cc injectors running on Neptune RTP and a demon 2 my CRX would not run for shit. Tuned a chip with HTS slapped it in ran great. Bought a p72 with an s300 V2 car runs Great after some trial and error with the basement. And fixing my shitty injector wiring.

We have a replacement for Moates Hardware, External install emulator (for temp installs for tuning) in development, and we currently have a hulog replacement (boostednw H-Log USB Datalogger) as well as Bluetooth datalogging
Always great content! What's your opinion on removing b16a2 oil suirters with aftermarket wiseco pistons? I have one nozzle broken and can't find one anywhere so picked up golden eagle set of plugs.
If it wasn't broken keep them, no real reason to remove them. But you're not going to hurt anything removing them either. You'll lose a bit of piston cooling but also gain a bit of oil pressure.
Odd, most d16's even vtec variants don't make this kind of power on 10psi, it must be pushing min 13psi or more to be making that much hp, and if stock rods won't be making it very long, very impressive none the less
Love these videos the most. I'm still trying to figure out retarding 1 degree per pound of boost. I need this explained to me in layman's terms. So, if running 10 lbs of boost, once boost comes in on ignition map, one would start at 10 degrees and reduce 1 degree per lb of boost as boost increases?
You start at whatever timing it wanted before boost and as it comes into boost start pulling 1 degree for every pound of boost. And if it feels laggy/not as much low end power as it should have you can wait for a few pounds of boost before pulling timing just to get a bit more response/ get it to sing faster

Hes humble about budget builds and ebay parts i got my turbo civic tuned by him no problems at all when i dropped it off tuning whent super smooth got the car back in a couple days drove 3 hours to get tuned because alot of tuners near me will try to sell you on name brand parts or wont work on cars with no name parts on it.

In crome, I'm almost sure there's a little bar that does it for you, you just put "retard x degrees per 1 psi boost.
