      Kailee Beach a dog is a commitment till the end of their life. If they were moving they should’ve gotten a place that’ll accept dogs. I know it’s hard to find but it is possible. One of my parents friend had to find a house that accepted 20 dogs that she rescued from the streets and if she could do it they could with one dog

      My current property I rent was sold to a new owner. After our lease was up the pet policy changed. Thank God we were able to keep our cat. But I can see there could be a situation with our elderly neighbors. If they still had their cat they would have been in the same position as Casey's owners.

I have a dog with an autoimmune disease. If he doesn't have his meds, his skin & the pain is comparable to someone with glaucoma. The bills are no joke....So if my business went under or something happened to where I couldn't care for him anymore, should I keep him anyways & let him suffer because according to a lot of people, there's never a good reason? • @MsMarco6
      @MsMarco6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In general I agree, but always remember there are legitimate reasons for having to give up a dog. I'm not saying that's what happened here tho.
      They did say that the family moved and couldn't afford to take her with them (either by paying for a pet friendly apartment or paying a pet fee). Now if they just moved for the hell of it then absolutely their fault but that isn't usually the case. Maybe they couldn't afford their current home, or maybe that had to move for a job either because they lost their old one or they're being offered more money. A big pay bump can change a families life completely, is it worth it to give up on giving your child a better future and potentially escaping poverty for the sake of a dog at the end of it's life. Us dog lovers may think so but most regular people won't.
      Again I'm not at all saying any of this happened, just giving examples of what could've been going on. There are plenty of other reason people give up dogs such as.
      Ill health, either physically or mentally. Either one can make looking after a dog impossible.
      Being unable to cope, not everyone can look after a dog (hence why one can end up in a crate for 14 years), if your in over your head giving up the dog is the right thing to do.
      Poverty, If you can barely afford to feed your kids how can you feed a dog. It's not fair to let it go hungry. I expect a lot of dogs are gonna end up in shelters for this very reason over the next 2 years, Which is terrible because shelters will be receiving less money and so inevitably there'll be a massive uptick in euthanizing and it's really no ones fault.
      Again I'm in no way saying that this family were definitely in the right, we don't know their situation.
      I'm just saying that whilst many who give up dogs are POS (and if they are wouldn't you want them to give up the dog) but definitely not all.
      Gotta remember that you can't judge someone without knowing their situation.

    • @asdf51501
      @asdf51501 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MsMarco6 You give some good examples there and yes there absolutely are legitimate reasons as to why people become unable to take care of a pet; what I’m referring to are cases where people give up a pet entirely for selfish reasons. It’s “inconvenient”, in other words. 😊

    • @PersonTP
      @PersonTP ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MsMarco6 definitely agree that there are legit reasons, but you should never get a pet if you don't know if you can provide for it ALWAYS, meaning if you know you don't get enough income to also take care of the pet then just don't get one, but let's think about the bright side, at least they didn't put the healthy dog down and gave it to a shelter instead.

    OMG ! How sad ! To have a dog for 14 years and give it up.
    I always had many animals.
    No vacations ect because of the animals.
    I would live in a box with them before I abandon them.
    I hope and pray people stop ditching and giving up these poor animals .
    They will forever look for their owners.
    I could never be a foster.
    I would want to keep them all .
    I hate crates.
    Why have dogs exactly.
    So kind of you both . I hope you keep both .

      They said pet deposit in the video… Basically it’s where an apartment complex/landlord charges a non-refundable fee, usually $500, and sometimes they also charge monthly pet rent per pet which can range from $25/month for a cat and maybe $50/month for a dog. I’ve always just snuck my two cats in with me 🤫 😝

We will get her a bed to replace the crate once she's a little older for her "safe space". She's only 3 months old right now. We have 5 dogs most are rescues from the shelter including a Cheweenie. They have full reign of our house no boundaries.. I love my dogs they are my life hubby's too. They sleep with us have a big back yard and are well taken care of Vet visits often for nails and shots/yearly Vet visit. I'm blessed to be able to have so many. Having 2 dogs myself & losing my 3rd dog of 15yrs to cancer just 3yrs ago, I can't imagine what I wouldn't sell or do or give away to bring my animals with me. It breaks my heart for the dog & I cannot imagine the trauma they must be processing. You can literally see it in their eyes.
    I hope videos like this will open hearts & minds to senior adoption 💯💕✌️

    It takes a beautiful spirit to take a senior dog home even if it is for a little while. You were raised right. Bless you.

    Thank you both for what you do. The bigger dog was crying and huffing when you desired to adopt her it's like she new and was beyond happy.

    On arrival K.C. was like "Dang, there's as many dogs here as there were at the shelter"! Thanks for fostering K.C. in her traumatic hour of need. I'm not allowed pets where I live, so I've signed up as a volunteer at the nearest shelter. Lifelong lover of dogs and cats, it's going to be a blast. Cheers!!

    after 14 years, i cant imagine giving up on such a sweet soul. my dog died no so long ago, seems like yesterday. I would give anything for one more day with him. anything. some people dont deserve the unconditional love of a furry friend.

    The couple is the most affectionate people I have seen as an advocate for dogs! And they really do it at home, and NOT just for the camera. So happy older dogs are being highlighted because they need as much love if not more than the younger dogs. Again Mahalo (thank you in Hawaiian) from Hawaii! Oh keep up the great work!

      Yep. Our family feels this way too! We are military and have taken our pets all over!! We've had a cat from kitten to age 19 when she passed. She's been in 5 states and Europe. Our dogs have been 3 states. We have greyhounds now, rescued from the tracks in Florida and Texas.

    I had to watch it twice. As my daughters say, "This is so wholesome!" It made me so happy to see you two taking in Casey and Pearl and how happy the dogs seemed, how chill your dogs at home were when greeting the new dogs, allowing Casey and Pearl to so easily fit in. Thank you for being awesome humans!

    HOW CAN ANYONE HAVE A DOG FOR 14 YEARS THEN JUST DUMP HER?! Poor dog can’t possibly understand that kind of rejection. Lee is awesome, really nice shelter too.

    it’s really sad to see how low-income pet owners are impacted by skyrocketing real estate prices. I know we wouldn’t be able to afford the pet deposit, we’re lucky enough to have a letter qualifying our pet as an ESA.

    I just respect what Lee and Sidney do for these dogs. Big love 💕 to you. Agree 100% with Lee saying why get a dog to keep it in a crate 22hrs a day

    I've just discovered your channel and I can honestly say I've fallen in love with what you do.
    I'm in the middle of a third lockdown in England and it's started to take it's toll.
    Watching your videos has given me a new sense of JOY again.
    Thank you you so much for what you do and sharing it.
    I haven't got time to take dogs in the way you do but I will be looking in to helping out at an animal sanctuary.
    You have inspired this in me.
    I can't find a word that says how amazing I think what you are doing is!!!!
    Thank you so much for what you are doing and sharing🤗🤗🤗

    We have a 2 year old bulldog and then we adopted a six year old female bulldog that was retiring from breeding. She is so sweet and starved for attention. She was not used to being a pet just housed. She has medical issues we're over coming and she's had surgery on both eyes but doing better. She's happy and loves to play and loves toys and food! So happy we have them both. So grateful we found her.
