TRANSCRIPT: Does it take time to get rid of the past, and so prevents one from living immediately? Right? That’s the question.
There is the whole cave hidden - the past, there, down there, like in a cellar where you keep your wine, if you have wine. And is it, to be free of it, does it take time? What is involved in taking time? Which is what we are used to: ‘I’ll take time. I’ll... Virtue is a thing to be acquired step by step, I’ll practice it, day after day, think about it, I’ll get rid of my hate gradually, my violence, slowly’ - that’s what we are used to, that is our conditioning. And so we say, ask ourselves, is it possible to throw away all the past gradually? Which means time. That is, being violent - one of the conditionings of the past - being violent, I’ll gradually get rid of it. What does that mean? Gradually, step by step. In the meantime, I am being also violent. The idea that doing some... of getting rid of violence gradually is a form of hypocrisy. Obviously. If I am violent, I can’t get rid of it gradually. I must end it immediately. And can I end anything immediately, psychological things immediately? You cannot if you are... if you accept the gradualness of freeing oneself from the past. What matters is not the gradualness but to see the fact as it is now, without any distortion. If I am jealous, envious, to see it completely, what is involved in it, an observation which is total, not partial.
The jealous - why? Why am I jealous? Because I am lonely. The thing I depended upon left me and I am suddenly faced with my loneliness, with my emptiness, with my particular little isolation, and I am afraid of that. Therefore I depend on you, and if you turn away against me, if you turn away I am angry, jealous, annoyed. And the fact is I am lonely, I need companionship, I need somebody not only to cook for me, to give me comfort, sexual pleasure and all the rest of it, but basically I am alone, lonely. And that’s why I am jealous. Can I understand this loneliness immediately? I can understand it only if I observe it, not run away from it. Can observe it critically, with awakened intelligence look at it, not find excuses, try to fill it, try to find a new companion. And to look at it, there must be freedom to look. And when there is freedom to look, I am free of jealousy.
So the perception, the total observation, watchfulness of jealousy, and the freedom from it is not a matter of time but giving your complete attention to it, critical awareness without any choice, to observe instantly as it arises. Then there is freedom, not in the future, now, from that which we call jealousy. And the same thing with the violence, anger, any particular habit, whether you smoke, drink, or sexual habits - dozen habits in which we live and cultivate them, hold on to them - to observe them very attentively, completely with your heart and mind, to be intelligently aware of the whole content of it. Then there is freedom from them. When once there is this awareness functioning, this attention, this watchfulness, then whatever arises - anger, jealousy, violence, brutality, a shade of double meaning, enmity - anything that can be observed instantly, completely. And then in that there is freedom and the thing that is, was, ceases to be. So the past is not to be wiped away through time. Time is not the way to freedom.
Look, we have had how many wars? For the last five thousand years somebody has calculated fifteen thousand wars - killing, killing, killing, in the name of God, in the name of nations, in the name of peace, in the name of beauty - you know. And that is the past. And can you get rid of all that killing, the tradition of killing, the conditioning of our nationalities, and so on and on and on, gradually? Is not this idea of gradualness a form of indolence, laziness? Or the incapacity to deal with the past instantly as it arises. And to have that astonishing capacity to observe clearly everything as it arises demands attention when it is... when you look. And when you give your mind and heart completely to the... observe, the thing is not. The past ceases. So time and thought does not end the past, for time and thought is the past.

Very powerful speaker. To be in touch with what is unfolding in the mind - moment by moment - is to keep the mind alert or awake and free. This cannot be done by will or desire. But it can happen if one is blessed and blessings can come if one has natural curiosity to explore not any particular problem like fear or jealousy but the root from where thoughts and feelings arise.

One thing is very clear that ending the past doesn't mean wash away all the images or memories, but being aware as the images, memories, reactions aise and stop them immediately. You need to be aware to end your past.

Be aware of what's happening around and within, directly attending to what comes forth immediately and directly. Without understanding oneself which is the past, attending to others is impossible task....
K said, "If you understand yourself directly, you are free to do anything and it is the right thing to do. Otherwise, everything you do is wrong."
My past is my illusion- memory which is gone, faded away into the past, regardless wherever it resides, upper or lower level, gone into the past as illusory memories. I have no time nor energy to ponder over any illusion. Present keeps hitting me. No action of mine can involve gradualness. And the beginning is the ending. There is no more loneliness, since two Me's are working together harmoniously in the "complete mathematical order"!🙏😁

@Trainer Giovanni, how complicated that must be..
When you are spontaneously interested, it does not matter to what, all you're attention will be there, without the 'me' or the 'you' doing it.
It happens without a waste of time..
But yeah, if you are nòt interested, it does not matter to what, then the 'me' or the 'you' must concentrate, and so also needs time to work on that..:-)

Did you just feel a little progress, a little satisfaction that you are doing better than last week? Shame on you!
Now I am told I should accept myself completely, now I am told to change completely - today, now.
Now I'm told enlightenment and development takes time.
Now I am told it should happen not tomorrow, but today.
Now I told to embrace life...now I am told I should lose every attachment to it.
Listening to enlightened people and spiritual gurus is indeed a task which demands the highest form of self observations and ability for distinction.

Violence does get rid of the past cause once that person's gone, you'll no longer have to worry or deal with that individual anymore. That's why war exists in the first place, the difference is animals kills to eat and they don't have worries LMFAO

Does it take time to get rid of the past? The answer is NO with the Condition that one truly Understands & Realizes how harmful the past is to one's current existence..For example, one is being friend to crooked gangsters without realizing so since they wears different masks 😇🥸😷👹🤡 sooooo well..Until one day, one caught these "friends" red-handed with proven facts..How long does it take for one to discontinued these friendshipsin?🤔?..Immediately, 24 hours, 7 days, couple months or years later?🤔?..Only Stupid & Dumbfounded would continue on with the such friendships in IGNORANTLY..The reasons that oftentimes peoples are not able to disconnected with their harmful past because of FEARFULNESS TO BE ALONE &/OR TO START NEW LIFESTYLE IN THE UNKNOWN OF UNCERTAINTY..Therefore, it is easier to remaining in the same old ruts of dreadful lifestyle with the false believe better to be in safe & secure environments rather than totally ✂️ cut off the relationships and DARINGLY TO MOVE ON WITH THE NEW BETTER LIFESTYLE of their own choices for themselves..Period..

He did not answere the question. If we are totally aware, watchful of our jealousy we're free from it but that will be only at that moment. Again jealousy will arise in future. So where was the pattern of the past has been broken?

    • @vivekpurohit0408

He insists that complete & intense awareness of the thing about the past at once would dissolve it forever, there is no time involved in the process. If one needs to do it again & again, then there is a repetitive element of time that comes with it. Its the real transformation humanity must have according to him.

    • @ThomiX0.0
      @ThomiX0.0 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Dear maaz dehalvi, you wrote us: " If we are totally aware, watchful of our jealousy we're free from it but only at that moment."
It seems to me, if I might say so that is; you try to better yourself with the watchfulness of thought.
It will make you a renewed you, whitch is still your cunning thought, smart as it is.
It will make 'the you' with a 'better' mask.
Socially acceptable, but the problem hides still behind the mask.
Listen to the last sentence K spoke to us, and you understand that time cannot erase time.
So also is it, that thought cannot stop thought.
Then how is one to solve the problem?
      Only with full attention.
( As K many times showen us; attention = Love )
And the beauty is: in your full attention, only your full attention.., this problem desolves itself..
You don't have to make a mask or put energy into it, as thought cannot solve its own problem.
      This beautiful Life you are!

Apparently if the pattern keeps coming back you did not watch it totally. Question is how to watching something at an absolute level of intensity like he said.
Edit: it seems to me one way to do it is to stay alert all the times.
