It’s really cool seeing how far these guys at Z1 have come. I grew up in Carrollton in the 90s and early 00s when this place was established. Having been away from there since 2003 and seeing cars all over the country with their parts has been really cool. I got a taste of their impact while in Germany and disclosing where I’m from which led to me immediately being asked if I’d heard of them. My periodic visits back home also allowed me to see their facilities grow to what they are today. It’s really impressive what they’ve done.

    FYI: The Nissan Z cars receives their name by the engine size. (Ex. 350z = 3.5L, 370z = 3.7L, 280z = 2.8L).
Nissan made it clear that The 2023 “Z” is a combination of all Z cars into one. It shows ownership & commitment of the Z history. You’re Welcome

Honestly they could have easily named it as the 300zx and it would have sold. This car has all of the ZX features. GT like ride and soft suspension, luxury interior (this is way more luxurious and filled with tech than a 350z or 370z), twin turbo 3L V6 that revs to 7k rpm (just like the Z32). They could have called it the 300zx to battle with the A90 MkV Supra just like how the Z32 300zx battled it out with the A80 Mk4 Supra.
And for a Japanese car enthusiast, it would have been like the 90s again. 300zx (this RZ34), A90 MkV Supra, R35 GTR and NC1 NSX

    • @R4SPEED
      @R4SPEED ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@Unicornpirate It wouldn’t work because of a different chassis & it’s a different designer. Toshio is the designer of the Z32 and he mentioned that they weren’t going back to previous models. It’s the same thing goes for R34 , R33, & R35.

Maxima gang! My first car was a 91 charcoal grey Maxima SE. Black leather. Bose audio. Loved that car! Back when I was 17 I couldn't afford much, but I wired in some black lights, subs, and cold air intake. Had lots of fun and turned out it was my gateway to other Nissans. In a way it makes sense to me to call it a 300zx. They're both part of the Z lineage, both have a 3.0 v6 turbo, although the new Z is supposed to commemorate the 240z, the 300zx looks similar as well.

Larry you were right, the 93 MAXIMA SE was a VE30DE, NOT the VG30E. The VE was dohc 190hp and made in the SE only models from 1992-1994 (before they went to VQ in 1995) the other models GXE/GLE remained getting the VG Until the model change in 1995 when all Maximas got the VQ30DE. finally ordered some replacement hatch struts from Z1 a couple months back for my 350z.... after having a failed back surgery I don't drive it much, and it was always parked Winters anyway, but being a perfectionist I couldn't continue to leave those OEM struts in a now 20 year old 350z; purchased in 2010. First true failure in my Z too. Baffling how these didn't ship with upgraded hatch struts for all that weight. Anyway, ZI is a great outlet for Z parts, though, there are some others, but I don't think the others are creating parts like Z1.
as a fellow Z nut, always enjoy the great Z content.

The z34r would have made more sense to not sound like r34. Its just an extention of the z34. I also dont think calling it a 300z or z would have been going backwards at all. The z31 and z32 were both 300zx's and that never effected the z32 sales. Its a till a new z. Actually dropping the x and just being "300z" would have been pretty cool tbh. I like what they've done with this car though. I wonder if they will specifically only sell aero parts with 600r packaged cars? That could makenthen pretty rare and easy to distinguish from the rest in most cases.

When the 300Z came out, I saw them all over the place. When the 350/370Z came out, I saw them all over the place. But with this most recent Z, it's supposedly been out for a few years now (I guess?) and I've seen a grand total of 1 out on the street. What happened?

why would you prefer aluminium strut brace over carbon? aluminium is for brokies, if you're modding a brand new car this much you can afford the carbon, and why are the competition brakes smaller than the track ones?? isn't the competition supposed to be the top spec? like i get that the pads can be more agressive and the brake fluid take more heat and stainless lines and whatever, but why would less pistons on the calliper and smaller rotors be the top spec? am i missing something here
i can't imagine that the lower unsprung mass would be preferable to bigger brakes in a heavy gt car like this

When people say 400z it's because they have no idea what they're saying. They think that everything is based on the next number and it is not. The numbers always depended on the liters of gasoline. 350Z VQ35DE, 350Z VQ37DE And the new Z is again 300 if we look at it by numbers because it has a VR30DETT engine. 300ZX z32, 350z Z33, 370z Z34, New Z Z35

On the brakes: have they added any cooling?
The 370Z suffered from lack of brake cooling (to the point that C&D had maybe their worst wreck ever when the brakes completely failed on VIR).
As far as I've seen the new Z does not address this issue, so more brake cooling would go a lot further than bigger brakes.

With all these go fast engine parts for the brand new car, how does the warranty plays in this regards? What if you have the upgraded turbo installed and something is wrong with the engine, would the dealer honor the warranty with these aftermarket parts or you have to take it all off and put the stock ones back in? If you do that, I'm sure the dealer service tech can tell if these parts has been tampered with?

Reason for "RZ34" instead of Z35:
"In Japan, the Ministry Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism oversees the certification process when a manufacturer introduces new models. The carmaker must submit an application to MLIT to show that it conforms to safety and emissions standards, and along with that comes testing. Over the years, those standards have gotten stricter. The article states that cost to meet those standards, and to conduct testing to prove as much, would have been expensive for Nissan."
Source: Japanese Nostalgic Car "Why the 2023 Nissan Z is still a Z34, not a Z35"
Nissan really worked hard to get us this car at its price range, amidst stricter manufacturing laws.
