I have Aaron's Top Gunz Supercharger kit on my Z34. It's very similar to this kit. Shoutout Aaron D.! I upgraded from the Stillen kit originally with the OG V3 blower which would snap belts like crazy because of the force needed to spool. The main benefits over the Vortech V3 blower is that this blower uses a planetary gearset to spool the turbine off the drive belt which means it spools alot quicker with alot more boost with a fraction of the cost of needed power to spool. It also has its own oil cooler! It's well worth it imho especially over the Vortech/Stillen kit. If you cross over or plan on crossing over 650 wheel on these headlift prone vq's be prepared to spend that extra digital cash on supporting mods. Good job Z1! Get that Carb stamp!

@@mitchellferre1652 the 370z interior is trash too honestly. The c6 interior is better than the 370 but I’d give the 370 a nod over the c5 but it’s not so much better that I’d choose one over a c5. A 6spd c5 is way better than a 370 imo.
I was so confused looking at the charge cooler in the pictures of the kit. Couldn't figure out how they were using 1-in 1-out cooler not 1-in 2-out til i saw that coupler in the video. Seems really well sorted out. That tensioner really is smart

This looks awesome, still need to get my cooling sorted for drifting, currently Naturally aspirated untuned. Already have a Z1 34 row oil cooler with the thermostatic plate, csf rad, stock fan, stock thermostat, and coolant swirl pot. Thinking I need to put a fan on my oil cooler and ps cooler for the next step and potentially hood vents. Once I get a nice temp potentially looking into this.
The 370 is one of the best looking car out there . 500 hp would def be the move for me to buy one. . A red no nismo with this kit would be fire for this old man,
370Z are expensive to build power with. You can expect to spend $1k for every 10-20hp gain and forced induction when done properly is minimally $10k not including labour if you aren’t building it yourself
@@ahhhue3830 ehhh not exactly true? On my build so far, catback, test pipes, and intake with tune netted ~330 whp up from stock ~275 whp. That's about $2500 deep. And that's why this kit is so good, the price is hard to beat for the performance
@@octagon_009 the one in the video? Depending on which option you go with it's between 6k and 11.5k right now. The one I'd go with personally is the 500 whp kit and since I've already had Z1 tune my car it'd be around 7.5k total
@@kylerice9714 either way the engine is going in my 74 260z 2+2, at this point though while the vq37hr would be the way I want to go there's not as much available from aftermarket to assist with the swap as there is for the vg35de. Unfortunately most of the supercharger kits for it don't offer the same kind of quality comparably or the hood clearance for necessary for a stock s30 hood which is why I reiterate how badly we need them to develope one for the 350z cause I don't want to go through the wiring/ecu nightmares I've heard some people having just getting a vq37hr to work as a standalone, that and I've only come across three guys who do it but the reviews have been mixed across the board so yeah

Love z1. Random question. Disregard hood clearance and strut bar. I've always wanted to see a de or rev up. Dyno with full exhaust catless. But have the lower iso thermal spacer, intake plenum spacer and kenetix v4 plenum with 75mm tb and bigger sized maf intake. Just to see what it makes. Am I the only one lol. Cause we all seen what Sasha had done over the years. With itb and nismo cams till he went crazy with it.
He's saying that strong 370Z made 340 wheel on their rollers, but nissan and most manufacturers advertise engine hp as its higher and looks better. 370z have around 340 crank /engine hp not wheel hp. So I think all these runs on your TV shows crank hp as well.
Question: does this have a blow off valve that sounds like a turbo? I’m under the impression this tupe of supercharged don’t blow off like turbo. Hopefully I can get a straight answer 😬
if you are looking for more power in the future are you able to retune the ecutek that is provided with the kit once installed new mods or would you be stuck with the tune that is loaded onto there until you buy a plug and play ecu?
The great thing about the Rotrex unit that it only needs have its oil changed every 50,000 miles, unlike my supercharger that has to have an oil change every second engine oil change.
@Brian Jackson 50,000 miles or 2 years. 50,000 miles is very good, especially if you race a lot but 2 years is a deal breaker when the oil is more expensive than engine oil. Not sure what's so different about the supercharger that it can't share oil with the engine. Suppose the gears are the reason

Things have changed since Forsberg was messing with the VQ. You can actually push them up to 900whp and be reliable. Above that can be done but things have to be right. One little mistake and it will cost you some head gaskets.
How high is too high of miles to supercharge and not be worried? im at144k tons of good bolt ons but regarding engine internals...anything need to be done to prep the engine for boost?
? The 370z and GTR literally have the most stuff out for it. The engines are more capable of holding power and that's why companies work on supporting mods. SOHO is an example.

Compatible, yes. Though the 370Z/G37 Seven speed isn't the strongest so long term it's a good idea to have a plan for trans upgrades or a swap to the 7 speed from the Q50/Q60
Vertical flow intercooler was an interesting choice. I’ve ran them on evos. They seem to have slightly less pressure drop but don’t cool nearly as well as a cross flow (tubes are too short). I ended up picking up 30-40 hp going to a similar size cross flow. Have you guys ran crossflows with this kit as well?

@@1NELove that’s because one car is the Nissan Z it’s been around for over 45 years, aftermarket support since the beginning, barely operable/ rusted out they still sell for 5 figures, there’s tons of documentaries made, I don’t need to explain the automotive historical relevance of the Z, but the other car is literally an IS350, i love Lexus I’ve owned a 2011 350 but it’s genuinely just a luxury sedan, it’s not the staple in car culture the Z is. It’s like having a NSX next to an accord and being like “ there’s no recognition or aftermarket support for my car”

Recently sold my touring 2009 370 for a 2004 c5, I truly love my c5 but the looks of the 370 get me every time.

VHR can take 600 to 650 whp reliably on stock internals assuming your tuner keeps the torque at a safe level.

They don’t really throw rods at those power levels especially being supercharged, the torque levels are a lot lower than turbocharged cars
The 300zx looks the best.
I like the simplicity of centrifugal superchargers but the cost of maintenance sucks. Not sure if all of them need regular oil changes though.

Maybe supercharged iat is lower than turbo iat?

@@1NELove that’s because one car is the Nissan Z it’s been around for over 45 years, aftermarket support since the beginning, barely operable/ rusted out they still sell for 5 figures, there’s tons of documentaries made, I don’t need to explain the automotive historical relevance of the Z, but the other car is literally an IS350, i love Lexus I’ve owned a 2011 350 but it’s genuinely just a luxury sedan, it’s not the staple in car culture the Z is.
It’s like having a NSX next to an accord and being like “ there’s no recognition or aftermarket support for my car”
