Most of the children are going abroad for higher studies and settle there. Within 10 years, most of the parents will be alone in their house. The key is to be a little selfish when you get old. An old man's home is never his children's home. Tell them to get their own home. That way you can sell your home and go to a nursing home with lots of money in the pocket and the bank. Whoever you are wherever you are cash is king!
Good idea. To be followed in our country. Because children wont get time to look after if both are working. They are trying hard to look after spouse and children. So can not get sufficient time for parents. They should be protected at this time. So oldage home with similar people is a good idea

If you ask me, i will never prefer to live with my kids once they are married, i will be more happy to live with my wife or myself alone or with a care taker. I love to have my own private space and freedom. In india we never live for ourself, in childhood we live for parents, once married we will have kid in first year and start living for them untill we die. Pathetic.

At the age of 70 or 60, i may not be comfortable living with my kid whose age is 30 or 40, both of our likes, dislikes and everything will be completely different. Another thing is the privacy, i will be more happy living with my partner/wife and enjoy the evening of life towards death rather than living with somebody with their whims and fancies.

I prefer to live in an old age home when I'm old.I think one can have enough fun in there with other old mates rather than living with family where 99% of old people will be feeling lonely. Only spend time with family during get togethers or celebrations once you are old, So that one have fun with family too

Don't think that people are enjoying retirement life in USA. If you have huge amounts if money leftover in your account, then you can spend time in nursing home and most retirement home cost between $5000 to $50,000 per month. Other people has to live in their own house and no one to help.
