Oil change for the rear differential is recommended at 60K but nobody does it 😎✌🏽

The manual recommends to change every 30-50k I think. Seeing how yours didn't look too bad after a 150k+ miles I think I feel a lot better doing it this weekend. Not sure the previous owner ever did it and I'm at 150 k myself. I have the push button locker TRD axle so it'll be a little different but probably very similar

Why did you put it on ramps if it needs to be level? There is plenty of clearance just do it on a level garage floor. Also, why bother using a torque wrench? Just tighten with a standard ratchet snug. Shouldn’t necessarily need to torque it with a torque wrench

Look's pretty simple.. the only thing I would of done differently is while draining the fluid.. letting the old stuff drain into a screen or cloth to make shure there is no piece's of metal or shards from gear's.. other than that I'm thinking without a pump worked just fine refilling 👍

Which service manual do you have for your Tacoma?

295K, it has the original oil, same as the transfer case and manual transmission, they just go for ever

I was wondering if your Toyota Tacoma has any vibration issues? I have a 1998 Toyota Tacoma SR5 V6 Automatic 2wd Extended cab. I hope you have an idea or two. I've replaced almost everything I even balanced the driveshaft..

I haven’t had any vibration issues. One of my old Ford trucks had a terrible vibration issue. I was thinking I was going to have to replace the entire front end. I ended up getting new tires and an alignment, the vibration went away. I suspect that my old tires were somehow way out of balance.
Describe the vibration. Does it only happen when the vehicles moving? Does it feel like it’s from the front and back end? Can you feel it through the steering wheel?
