    Bernal is such an easy rider to root for. He has a certain charisma and mythos thats been built by comebacks and passionate racing in the last couple years. There's a vigor and 'vida' if you will to his game that isn't common in the contemporary GC riders. He isn't afraid to swing for the fences and lose, and it's extremely entertaining. Hope we get to see him win more grand tours.

    • @jarydanderson1400
      @jarydanderson1400 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I'll see your swing for the fences comment and raise you Rogla's No Risk No Glory No Point attack where he crashed in the Vuelta last year

    • @philknott4620
      @philknott4620 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would actually argue the current GC riders are more afraid to risk it than previous generations! The only problem is that Pog is so good that even when he risks it he still wins every time...

    Definitely, more footage from Bernal's descent, and anything else you can share, would be amazing. Bernal is my favorite rider, he just rides with such grace. 2014 Tirreno Adriatico stage 5 with those 30% gradients would be pretty cool, as would the 2018 Strade Bianche, one of the first times I realized "wow, this wout van aert guy can race on the road". The 2017 Giro was the first race I ever paid attention to as a cycling fan, but I didn't ever watch it live, I only saw those "last 15 km" videos that were uploaded to TH-cam and quickly taken down. I'd love to see more about that race.

    This was probably my favourite stage of last year. Literally just pictures of crowds at the finish and the commentators talking about how strong they like their tea in the morning and the 'expert' on OBs, Rob Hatch, giving an explanation as to why we didn't have pictures. But to see Bernal fly round the corner, take his jersey off going uphill on cobbles, was just like what the actual, this guy is class. Yeah, the Slovenes are head and shoulders above the rest, but you're right, this guy is a bike racer, respect the jersey, play your cards, take the big W. What a legend. Really hope we see him back better and stronger. So glad we could watch how it unfolded.
