This gives us hope that the deep dive analysis of Dumoulin dropping his bibs to take a deuce on the side of the road in the Giro is on its way. Brewing if you will. I can sleep well tonight knowing it's coming up.
In addition to the comedy (always there) as a newer fan of the sport i’ve learned so much from watching these videos, and there’s really no other outlet/creator doing things like this on the past years/races from pro cycling at this level of insight. Hopefully the re-broadcast rights and viewership numbers are both there to make this worthwhile, we would love to see as many of these as you can put out.
The one where he did a Landis? Shouldn’t be glorified. That ride is clouded in suspicion. If you follow Lanterns early stuff he knows how to spot a radioactive performance. There are known human limits that if exceeded are massive red flags. Not proof mind you but very suspicious. Since he made it big he doesn’t make vids like that anymore and I haven’t checked but he likely got rid of them once he gets associated with big brands that sponsor these guys. But that don’t mean he got stoopid.
@@jasonjohnson9072 Isn't that why a greater analysis with estimated data would be great, just to see how nuclear that was? And if you are that suspicious about that ride - stop watching sports. Btw, Froomes performance that day was also massively exaggerated by the mistakes his rivals on the road made, so analysing what went wrong would be great
Another great race review LR!! I thought I watched every pedal stroke of Nibali's solo Sanremo win....never noticed the mobile phone flying from the perpetrators hand in the final stretch of the race!
Loving these videos. 2016 Giro had some truly memorable stages. Fantastic finish to stage 18 with Trentin, Brambilla and Moser, and the combo of stage 19 and 20 that secured Nibali the victory still sits with me as one of the most memorable grand tour finales.
I feel like Mohoric's skill is hugely underapreciated, it is not a matter of how much of a daredevill you are. It is knowing how to go fast, a really big skillset he has shown to have throughout the years. Not easily spotted by those who haven´t spend a lot of time understanding the art of going fast.
Wow, legendary win, worth a mention that Nibali is a very good time-trialist which I'm sure helped him a lot to maintain his lead on that last few kms of flat section. Great analysis with a good dose of humour as usual - the phone moment was LOL!
This race was one of my best cycling memory. So much love for Nibali. Please do Pinot's victory in Lombardia, this guy is so unlucky he deserves us to cheer on his wins !
The starting question - "How did Vincenzo Nibalie a man with no sprint win..." lol it immediately brought back flashes of the time he was dragged to the front of a race by a car (cant recall whether it was the tour or giro or vuelta) in one of those years!
Also noticed that weird helmet. Rudy Project Racemaster. 12:35 Here's one on Nibali's teammate. Wouldn't be surprised if they didn't do proper aero testing of this.
Great video! Heavier riders don’t actually descend quicker. I didn’t pay much attention in high school physics class, but that’s one thing I do remember. In a vacuum, a rock will drop at the same speed as a feather. It’s all about aerodynamics.
It's been a long while but could you possibly do a video on Contador at the 2015 Giro, stage 16? I remember watching it live and it was one of the greatest, most heroic climbing performances I've seen!!
Trentin didn't made a mistake here, it was a very good tactic but he just didn't have the legs. Ewan is not sure winnig the sprint but Trentin is sure that if he catchs Nibali 1) he beats him 2) they look at each other and the ewan group cames back. He can't loose to Nibali and if the group cames back it's okay for Ewan, it's the same result as if Trentin pulls... So this is the first reason why trentin moves maximised Michelton scott's chances to win Also this move forced other teams especially Groupama fdj to work so they don't have the leadout for the sprint and we know it's important for Démarre, may be if Trentin pulls they get back and Demarre wins, who knows ? It was a great tactic, believe me 😉
Nibali rides the least expensive bike on the tour, rim brakes + wires hanging out on the frame.. This basically defeats the debate of descending faster with disc brake bikes
Watching this clip it makes me really believe that the reason why Nibali won this year was because of the position of the arms on the handlebars, now illegal.
0:40 How quickly things change in the peloton - could you imagine anyone wearing a goddamn cycling cap with a brim these days? Get behind me boys, I'm gonna flip up this absolute shovel for the air in front of me.

This is the deep-dive LR recap that I requested on Twitter a while back. It has to happen.
Wallis good to know there are other people of culture watching LR
It will drop 1 day.
@@matthewk3233 it's already dropped... in the grass by the road.

There's "How the race was won", now on CyclingTips, by Cosmo Catalano. Awesome creator!
@@fragfarmerCA true! Cosmo Catalano has a similar video style and is definitely worth checking out!
me tooo. many thanks from a steady-on bike commuter.
Cycling today is shit. The bikes dont even look like racing bikes. Mountain bikes with curved handlebars.
This race was an absolute work of art by Vincenzo Nibali. A magnum opus.
No. He was lucky
The crazy raid by Froome that gained him a Giro in 2018 MUST be in one of the future videos!
The one where he did a Landis? Shouldn’t be glorified. That ride is clouded in suspicion. If you follow Lanterns early stuff he knows how to spot a radioactive performance. There are known human limits that if exceeded are massive red flags. Not proof mind you but very suspicious.

NIBALI DESCENDING LIKE A SHARK DOWN A WATERFALL
That cav crash is absolutely insane
Superman to self-suplex to how the hell did he survive that?!
@@WeirdNeville right?
When he won lombardy attacking on the descent close to the finish, tactical masterpiece. The guy reads a race so well.
When your doing revision for school exams, these videos are a life-saving break
Same but college final year
@@AtharvaVaidya Good luck!
@@AKH3156 to you as well!
Keep studying that grammar, bro!
PSA: It's "you're" or "you are"
Still can't get over the fact that Vincenzo called his dog Benji. 😅
LMAO
Love Nibbles, absolute class. Even timed looking over his shoulder and celebrating perfectly.
His descent was average. This is not an opinion.
Not class at all, always attacked when his rivals crashed
Another great race review LR!! I thought I watched every pedal stroke of Nibali's solo Sanremo win....never noticed the mobile phone flying from the perpetrators hand in the final stretch of the race!
Was a beautiful revisit. One of my most memorable wins. Beautiful. Italian on via Roma. How does the sort get much better
Loving these videos. 2016 Giro had some truly memorable stages. Fantastic finish to stage 18 with Trentin, Brambilla and Moser, and the combo of stage 19 and 20 that secured Nibali the victory still sits with me as one of the most memorable grand tour finales.
Yes agreed! With der kleerhanger. Never really rose to those height again
Oh gosh, we will miss Vincenzo so much in the next years.
Even at his last season, 4th at Giro.
What a fucking Legend.
I didn’t watch much racing pre2019 but the clip of Kriswijk crashing in the snowbank seems like a leader of some interesting stuff
I am very happy that LR got the rights for the footage of this races.
Contador on the mortirolo.

dude literally invented the supertuck
Best MSM win ever, perfect timing from Nibali to post up and let the sprinters get just close enough for the pictures
Love Nibali propbably one of my fav cyclists
This is by far the most courageous and entertaining win of MSR that I've seen. A fucking awesome assault by Nibali.
Wow, legendary win, worth a mention that Nibali is a very good time-trialist which I'm sure helped him a lot to maintain his lead on that last few kms of flat section. Great analysis with a good dose of humour as usual - the phone moment was LOL!
Fantastic review, thanks. I can't believe that was only 4 years ago, seems more like 8-10.
Love the ballsy before-the-line salute as Nibs can’t contain his excitement! Forza Francesco
2017 Lombardia was even better! Nibali was on near perfect form and his downhill skills are nearly untouchable
This race was one of my best cycling memory. So much love for Nibali.
Please do Pinot's victory in Lombardia, this guy is so unlucky he deserves us to cheer on his wins !
I'm glad to see you review one of my all time favorite performances. Nibali has always been a favorite of mine for his tactical sense.
The starting question - "How did Vincenzo Nibalie a man with no sprint win..." lol it immediately brought back flashes of the time he was dragged to the front of a race by a car (cant recall whether it was the tour or giro or vuelta) in one of those years!
2015 Vuelta. Video is too funny not to share, how the hell did they think they'd get away with this? th-cam.com/video/7E4vRtC7IcY/w-d-xo.html
That was a belter, I remember it well!
It wasn’t the Giro because it would have never been put on air.
One of the best victories in cycling history
Great video, best cycling youtube reactor and master class from The Shark of Mesina,Nibali.. Amazing..
👑Legendary performance from the shark
My favorite Italian race since 2014 has to be Bjarne Riis on the Hautacam at the 1996 Tour de France. You should do that one next
Nibali gloriously epitomises panache on a bike
He'll be missed
God those Bahrain kits were mint
Definitely a shark fin.
Love these videos ❤️
Love this. Thank you for the recaps.
Beautiful victory
It’s back! Nairo in the snow at tirreno next?
Already love these throw back serie!
Love this kind of race..it is a thing of dreams. Thanks for the coverage.
Throwback videos for the win! 🔥
Whatever happened to the arrowed rider in black sitting on Nibali’s wheel in the title photo?🤔
Old footage of future Roubaix winner Dylvan van Baarle
I for one was saddened when Nibali hung up his bike, along with Valverde, and Gilbert, he was one of the old school, a proper racer.
Nibali is an ace descender, good video
Great video as always LR.
Great rider . If you win a classic and a grand tour race , that's Eddie Merckx territory .
This was a joy to watch. Spartacus on Strade Bianche please. You can do his 3 wins.
this is an OG LR style video and I love it
yess! keep these videos coming!
What a brilliant race. Well done.
The 70km chris froome attack to win il giro
Great video, LR💯
Also noticed that weird helmet.
Rudy Project Racemaster.
12:35 Here's one on Nibali's teammate.
Wouldn't be surprised if they didn't do proper aero testing of this.
thank you for putting the effort in for getting these rights. amazing.
Would love to see you go at one of the earlier Strade Bianch (16 for example)
love old school LR
A big selection of content from the 2018 Giro.
Good video but im hyped for the Froome 2018 Giro RAID
Chris Froome 2018 Giro raid please. His decline depresses me and would love to see some OG Froome savagery.
Great video!

theyre not decending in a vacuum dumb dumb
But they are not in a vacuum. I descended Fleet Moss to Hawed approaching 50 mph. My mate knocked his car out of gear and hit 70 in no time.
Man that’s brilliant!

Nibali a master decender and very worthy Sanremo winner….
Nibali has such perfect form.
great stuff! very fun buddy.
Name another active rider with a palmares of 3 different GTs and 2 different Monuments
Would love to see you dissect TdF 2014 stage 2 into Sheffield. An epic stage and finale. Nibali such a smart racer.
Pls 2013 or 2017 edition of milano sanremo
I am relatively new to road racing and these wide handlebars looked hilarious
I´ll never forger that day, la gazzetta sportiva published the most incredible photo of the race
I think it's going to be a group sprint!
Would love a vid on the Contador v Aru/Landa battle from the 2015 Giro
What size chainrings do they use?
You should cover Quintana on Blockhaus, which will be back in this year Giro. That was a crazy performance by Nairo
I reminisce thus, so nice to see rim brakes again . . . sob, sniff, baaaahhhhhaaahh!
No mention of the friendly moto providing the really nice up-close coverage before the descent off the poggio?
You better shut up your mouth and accept history. Look for a next friendly motorbike and see what happens.
Simply genius
This was such a good race
How did they stop without disc brakes??????
I'd like to see you do something on the 1992 Milan San Remo OR 2008 Giro-di-Lombardia
Milanoe san remoe great win
At the end where Nibali is hugging his teammate, you can see the same finnon their helmet too
Was Nibali on 48cm wide bars??
Nibali rides the least expensive bike on the tour, rim brakes + wires hanging out on the frame.. This basically defeats the debate of descending faster with disc brake bikes
They don’t even use the brakes
Meraviglioso
Skineos . . . I love it!
It was a great raid by Nibali
I'd like to see some epic giro mountain stage of your choosing
Where was the bunny hop or was that a different one? ☹️🤔
Next one: Strade 2016 with Cancellara full throttle on his hidden motor to catch Brambilla up Santa Caterina
Nice analysis but do you really think Trentin would have worked for Ewan? I ve never seen Trentin working for anybody but himself!
Watching this clip it makes me really believe that the reason why Nibali won this year was because of the position of the arms on the handlebars, now illegal.
Great video! On a side note, good to see pros on rim killing it…
Be cool to see one your expert breakdows of the best race of the tour of Lombardy

"He who hesitates is lost"
This time, Tadej Pogachar will loose his life on the descent. He was such a young and talented rider. RIP Tadej Pogachar.
Il canto del cigno di Nibali...
Hate to say it, but that Cav crash was not bad luck. Dude goes down a ton.
2050: Everything changed, nonetheless Nibali is still RACING!!!
he comes in second behind Valverde :-D
