These two had an amazing chemistry beyond measure and should have been awarded for their acting, they should have been in BVS or Justice League. Jessi Eisenberg is the worst Luthor ever. Clark is the son Lionel wished he had
There’s something special about this scene. Lionel is usually sarcastic and talks in a jokingly way in every other scene, but this scene alone - he is very serious.
Yep sad his redemption Lionel's was a little late maybe a season or two sooner then Lex maybe had a chance but here he was already well on his way to the dark side
1:12 “Oh, which son is that?” Lex asks. Love it. By this season, you would have thought Clark was adopted by the Luthers. Lionel was showing Clark just as much attention, if not more, to him than Lex. We even got to see he had a secret attraction for Martha--like son, like father. Lionel wanted Martha, Lex wanted Lana.
i loved those father/son moments in smallville!! clark and jonathan, lex and lionel; They show how they were completely opposite, one full of love and caring, the other bitter and full of resentment!! great characters and wrighting!!
When Lionel realized it was his duty to protect Clark, I just became so fascinated by him. And the way he just spat in Lex's face like that! GO LIONEL!
+Ameen Ahmed You took the words right out of my mouth. I was fascinated by him before anyway, but when he started redeeming himself and going down that path...still manipulative and a great liar, but for the right reasons, it struck a new cord with me, and he quickly became a favorite of mine.
@Mike John Oh man... Lionel Luthor's character development was amazing. For some reason, Jor-El knew that Lionel was worth redemption and being given a chance to do what was right. And Lionel accepted that responsibility without blinking, no matter how much Clark may have resisted. I never watch Lionel's death scene. Therefore, he never dies. I don't watch it, so it never happened. That's my logic and I'm sticking to it lol
I've been saying this on like, every Lionel Luthor video: I can't help it. I love Lionel. I love complex characters! He actually reminds me a little bit of Severus Snape from Harry Potter, in terms of complexity and not knowing what his motives are all the time
Everybody is like: Lionel is the greatest... For what? For being a horrible father to lex? Right now lex is just the younger version of Lionel... Lex became what his father wanted him to become, and now Lionel is playng the uno reverse card. Calrk was a better persone because hè had a better father, hè was loved all his childhood... Lionel neglected Lex and now has a problem with how hè turned out...
Lex was pretty much doomed from the moment he was born. Lionel's manipulative and evil ways was the majority reason for Lex eventually turning evil. For Clark, he had to keep his secret because well Lex is a Luthor. Clark was understandably right for keeping his secret. Lana was manipulated by Lex who was taking advantage of her due to the Clark and Lana relationship falling out. So in conclusion, Lex was damaged as a result of the trauma he witnessed as a child seeing what his father did to his mother. And also the way he was treated in general by Lionel.
Wow... I think this is the only time in 7 years that John Glover didn't have a beard, rather just 5 o'clock shadow lol. Great scene... these two made the show!
Wait a minute that voice I recognized that voice it's the flash from the Justice League and the other actor that I know Lex Luthor father was actually the Riddler
Haha nah that’s too emotional for Lionel. Lionel believes emotions are synonymous with vulnerability. Poor Lex on the other hand is an emotional basket case at times
They used Gotham as a City and a City name a couple of times on the show. One of Oliver's friends lived in Gotham. smallville.fandom.com/wiki/Gotham_City
@@mammaboy1 That's still more BS from Lex and him blaming his father. Lionel was definitely not the husband or father he should have been, but he did not go to same lengths Lex did. Especially not with his wife.
These two had awesome chemistry.
88smjls these two really have a good father and son dynamic
The very BEST on-screen chemistry between a father and son to grace TV’s history. #TakeMeBack
Lionel was like "You can never fool me. You may play the game but I INVENTED the game son." lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yeah and how did that work out? What was Lionel’s ending? Lol
@@MrMagoo-rg8erI know how it ended for Lex. Boy got blown to smithereens! 😂🤣 hiding in the back of a truck! Lmao
"But not me. You can never fool me"
Lionel Luthor is so awesome, and so is Lex! The Luthors rocks!
This is one of my favorite scenes between these two. It’s here that Lex is actually seriously toying with the idea of killing his father.
God I loved smallville
I watch it literally every week in my USB on the telly!
It's still glorious ❤
Me too. I lived for this.
The BEST series ever! #TakeMeBack

Lionel: But not me, hmf you can never fool me....
Lex thinking: Im gonna have to kill this one.
That's usually the case with any version of Lex. Those he can't fool, control or buy off he either has killed or kills them personally.
There’s something special about this scene. Lionel is usually sarcastic and talks in a jokingly way in every other scene, but this scene alone - he is very serious.
Lionel has no one to blame but himself for how Lex turned out. As they say, "as they sow, so shall they reap"!
No arguments here
Yep sad his redemption Lionel's was a little late maybe a season or two sooner then Lex maybe had a chance but here he was already well on his way to the dark side
Lionel is the GREATEST !!

These 2 were definitely the best thing about Smallville. Each and every one of their scenes were just perfect. 10/10 all the way!!!

Lionel spent 20+ years molding Lex into this and then he tried to turn it around at the last minute, but it was already too late.
No Doubt
Well Lex did take Luthor Corps away from Lionel. But killing your parents is a Luthor trait. Lionel killed his parents and Lex killed Lionel.
Pure TV gold Michael and John amazing ❤️

@Mike John Hahahahaha right?!
it's at that instance that Lex considers that the best solution is to kill his father
They both were obsessed with Clark
True. But Lionel was protecting Clark, whereas Lex wanted to destroy him.
Michael Terrell he wanted to control him
@WhySoSerious0331 I agree fully, the Luthers were the best part of Smallville. They way they used to spit at each other was amazing.
Man I miss this show.
Sadly, many good things come to an end.
Indeed.
Nothing is FOREVER ❤
If you ask me, Rosenbaum and Glover helped pull season 7 from free-fall.
Lionel was always a step a head of Lex that’s why it made the perfect sense to kill Lionel. Such a Beautiful Cast & Show my favorite show of all time!
Yeah these guys are a cut above smallville was quite good

Lionell rules
Lex and Lionel’s scenes are awesome and funny
Lionel Luthor kind of reminds me of bill Spencer in bold and the beautiful but even more ruthless.
Wait a minute that voice I recognized that voice it's the flash from the Justice League and the other actor that I know Lex Luthor father was actually the Riddler
I love the luthors
1:29 This was one of the many moment when Lionel could have admitted out loud that he missed up
But he didn’t
Are there any scenes of Lionel getting angry and throwing his drink? I think he does that and not just lex...
Haha nah that’s too emotional for Lionel. Lionel believes emotions are synonymous with vulnerability. Poor Lex on the other hand is an emotional basket case at times
Powerful Scene's I do love them in Smallville TOP 10 out of shows that have this kind of power In Short Scene's ??????
Hard to believe this video was uploaded 14 years ago ☯️
I’ve watch only two shows because of the villains. Once upon a time. Rumple and the evil queen and smallville with Lionel and lex
Yep honestly thats why I watched it wasn't for clark it was for Lex and Lionel
Dude where's the clip of Lionel telling Lex the parable of The Scorpion and The Frog??????
Lionel has such a flair .. clsssy
I love there scenes when there talking julius caesar
Those 2 made smallville. Really great actors
can someone start a go fund me to repair both of these great men backs for carrying this entire damn show on it
This is when lex knew he had to kill his father
It should have been a flight to Gotham City...i wish the series alluded more to Gotham even though they could not use the characters ...
They used Gotham as a City and a City name a couple of times on the show. One of Oliver's friends lived in Gotham. smallville.fandom.com/wiki/Gotham_City
nobady can fool lionel
"Coincidence, used by fools and liars"
Lionel was never anyone's father.
0:44 0:45 0:46 1:00 1:13
Is this ten frames per second? 🤔
dam lionel got burned
Lex learned everything from him he can’t get mad at what he created
