Smallville I Am The Villain of This Story
Looking back at this.. Lex delivered disrespect at an astronomical level here. When Lionel killed his parents , he hired his buddy to do the dirty work. He didn't dare to do it with his own bare hands or look at them in the eye when he did it. Lionel murdering the Luthors was an act of greed. Lex, on the other hand.. had no issue committing the act himself. He walked right into Lionel's tower, took the elevator up to his office, and pushed his abusive father out a freaking window. And on top of that, promised Lionel that no one would remember his name. For Lex, murdering Lionel was PERSONAL. They did a great job with "Descent." Lex accepted his destiny right here.
Best scene of any show ever!!!
The fact that these 2 never got a movie is criminal.
1:29 This was one of the many moment when Lionel could have admitted out loud that he missed up But he didn’t
Lionel with his gaslighting tactics wouldn’t stop even at his bitter end.
Lex was right bc that hit Clark gave Johnathan back in like season 3-5 really started his heart problems
Given how many times Clark defended Lex he should know first how hard Lex did try
It’s so interesting watching Lionel use metaphors to speak to Clark like he speaks to Lex
Actually, all he would have to do is call the cops and have him arrested for breaking and entering, and trespassing.🤷🏻♀️ "What happened to you?"oh I don't know… Decades of systematic trauma and abuse from a distant and manipulative father, for some reason Clark seems to think is a good guy.😂
Gosh I can't imagine why Lex turned out to be a bad guy…
based
God this show was good!
Lionel such a HYPOCRITE, Lionel cloned a dying little girl , that's pretty much the same thing playing God 😐
"Find it or fake it"...a narcissist' words...sad, because I liked Lex a lot
0:59 ❤❤❤❤ The close up, that face….. and then he drops the bomb with that line! 🎉
0:32 this right here is so funny. Martha asks a question and Lex doesn’t miss a beat. This is my favorite ❤️, The look on Lex’s face, hand pointing to the green ring, and, especially, “I am the villain of the story!😮

Yes it is. My favorite scene
1:12 “Oh, which son is that?” Lex asks. Love it. By this season, you would have thought Clark was adopted by the Luthers. Lionel was showing Clark just as much attention, if not more, to him than Lex. We even got to see he had a secret attraction for Martha--like son, like father. Lionel wanted Martha, Lex wanted Lana.
Lex cold as ice !
Chilling!
Once she married Alex, she took on alot of his traits, probably for the sake of survival in his cut throat world, but it never seemed to go away. She’s doing exactly what Lex has done to her a million times over. She’s no better than Lex, here.
One of the most shocking moments to ever happened
Lionel shouldn’t be talking when he’s done the same things and far worse.
Lex Luther was the real victim of the story
I don’t care what anyone says, but Clark dishonesty and Clark denial of reality that was Lex’s Reality is what made Lex become the Lex Luther we know about.
Lex should be happy. He grew up with no body hair, instead of as the most hated of the social pariahs: A Ginger.
Miss this show
I hated this. I wanted them to stay brothers.
*To think we went from a powerhouse like Michael Rosenbaum to a dweeb like Jon Cryer as the ultimate nemesis of Superman.*
Eh, I’d say that they turned Jon Cryer’s lex Luthor into supergirl’s nemesis rather than superman. But despite the flaws I’d say cryer did a decent job.
The writers were obviously dying to make this episode and film this scene and yet….Michael Rosenbaum’s Lex wasn’t at this stage yet- and might never have got there. A brilliant episode in a brilliant show with too many brilliant scenes and brilliant episodes to list!
I always liked how Lionel called Clark “son”
"Well, it's not quite a skeleton yet. More like a freshly laid corpse." The disrespect for both Jonathan and Lionel in one zesty reply. I could argue that Lex took over the title of Magnificent Bastard from Lionel right there.
"Somehow, Luthor returned."
Lex waited a long time to do this.
After rewatching Smallville now, you realize that Clark and Lionel are responsible for Lex. They are the bad guys. Clark unintentionally, but Lionel intentionally. Lex was just a desperate person, craving for love, but everywhere he turned, he found lack of it.
Lionel quotes Bible Verses, Lex quotes mythology. love this show, lol
One of the few times Clark left with the final word in a conversation with Lex. Brilliant scene!
My god😂😂😂😂😂
Lex was right. Nobody remembered Lionel Luthor. It's almost like he never existed until Smallville.
This was the final masterpiece tier episode for smallville
I still remember every detail of the night this aired. My oldest brother came over for something and my other brother and myself were seated to watch to show. The oldest came in and just stood there during this entire scene, in fact all three of us were standing close to the end, each one inching closer to the screen the further alone this went. By the end my brother called home and told his wife he had to stay a bit later to help my dad with something while the three of us sat around watching this.
Lionel was a monster he even turned his own son into a bigger monster , Lex could have been a good man and an amazing Superman ally.
“My father just died & you’re already breaking & entering”! 1 of many BEST lines by actor Michael Rosenbaum as Lex! For a man who chose to literally kill his own father (in the show) all without showing any remorse he certainly made pretending to care about his father’s death so convincing in this scene! 👏Then of course, once Clark (handsome actor Tom Welling) mentions he has “proof”’ all the while looking Lex straight in his eyes Lex then somewhat shows just a bit of emotion (concern or panic) realizing Clark means business & he’s not joking! He will make Lex pay! Job well done to both actors!
I really like the idea of someone being immensely strong that they can kill you with a lift of their finger and you just look at them unphased and flat out tell them that you absolutely refuse to do what they want and will do nothing to help them
There will never be a better Lex Luthor.
Lionel luthor was the best
4:31 The horror on Lionel’s face He wasn’t looking at his son anymore he was looking at the monster he helped create
Riddle me this, Lex
Who was Lionel talking to on the phone in this flashback?
Edward or Genevieve Teague I imagine.
