this episode was like the opposite lesson of whats a wonderful life or what lex is refrencing this is the episode that cements his full turn thought moments like this I can kind of relate to him.
Rosenbaum played Lex like no other actor before or since, He gives him a sympathetic edge but also a darkness especially with his intimidating speeches & screen presence. DCEU missed the boat not hiring Rosenbaum
I can't blame Lex for wanting it all in this context. His mother showed him love AND loss, and nobody would be able to accept that all at once. So he wanted to escape the suffering. Anybody would want to. Very few accept it, and that's why most people would be villains in real life.
Actually it was. Yes, Lex lost the election, but that's not the point. This is the moment where he chose to pursue money and power at all costs. In essence, he truly made a huge leap forward in becoming his father.
@@billnumber3324 Dude. This is Lex Luthor, if he plans to burn Kent with something then he'll do it. This is the same guy whom in the comics and adaptations, humiliated a waitress for kicks, stole 40 cakes from a bake sale, pushed a cop into an oncoming train and sent a jar of piss to a senator. So needless to say, either whatever dirt he had on Jonathan wasn't enough or the writers were too lazy to bring it up. It's not the point that Lex pursues power and money at all costs. That's been in his nature since before he and Clark became friends. The point was that despite being smart, rich and powerful enough to buy the entire country, he couldn't best a simple farm man in an election that would have been childs play to him. This wasn't the beginning of Lex. This was the beginning of Lex's most fatal of flaws. An inferiority complex.
There’s a little bit of a sense and or feeling in a way that the election 🗳️ had been “RIGGED” and “STOLEN” away from Luthor himself there now going in favor of Jonathan Kent with Lex’s father playing a role in that flipping the script in betrayal of his very own son there big time indeed now no doubt about that there. LEX SHOULD HAVE WON!!! 😡🔥
I still feel that Lex’s evil turn was premature. I know the previous 4 seasons had been building it up but season 5 really should have been planting the seeds.
The first four seasons were planting the seeds. Really, it wasn't premature. This season provided the perfect reasons and scenarios as to why he would.
Actually the first cog in the machine, of the path of Lex becoming the antagonist it was when his first wife sabotage his plane, and he ended stranded in what it seems a deserted island, his own mind told him that some day he would kill his father, and when he come back, he come back even more controlling and paranoid than before.
They way Lex talks is just amazing!
Damn there are some scenes where they perfectly execute the evil nature of lex luthor
The exact moment Lex turns evil right here.
No.. The moment Lex turns evil is when he smothers the memory of his good self in flames.
No. It was when he killed his father and finally cut the tethered cord.
That was the completion of it.
TheJking85, again, no.. it was when he smothered the memory of his good self in flames. That's when he truly succumbed to the dark side.
Did you not see the part when he killed his dad.

I agree. He had a lot of range. He was pure charm and comedy in the movie Sweet November
@@funeralgiggle3771 Also check out Sorority Boys. Absolutely hilarious film
Premature, they were preparing this moment since the beginning of Season 3, when Lex was lost in that Island.
Best Lex ever
Griff came back as a kryptonian lol
He sure did!
@@anthonyanguiano5348 holy shit ur right!
I like how Griff is played by the same guy who was the black kandorian in season 9.
"No one man should have all dat powa!"
Season 9 and 10 would of been a hell of seasons if micheal rosenbaum had been there. The ratings would of been higher and maybe we'd had a season 11.
Having Michael Rosenbaum there for those seasons would have been better but the show was long past it’s expiration date.
Nobody hate me but seasons 9 and 10 were my favourite
Nah
That bell toll still makes this scene so memorable.
Lex was talking to the Kandorian captain Basqat here.
This is the best Lex there could be for this show!
I want it all.
What about hair?
Lol 😂😂😂
He wants a ponytail
This is what the spirit of lex's mother gets for showing him the part about Lana dying. Seriously what did she think was gonna happen.
No life is perfect and everyone dies, at least he was surrounded by love but the dark path he took is even worst.
This show was SO GOOD
Loved the ending of the clip with Lillian's reflection :D
Damn, this video has been up for 11 years and there's only 1 dislike.
12 years and only 2 now
@@orcmama8 Gene Hackman, Kevin Spacey and Clancy Brown all disliked this lol
I can't see the dislikes count anymore
@sammosammy Didn't you hear him? With money and power, you can secure everything else lol.
There is a season 11 in comics.
Lex Luthor. One of the good things about this show.

Hello Everyone Happy Christmas Eve to everybody and have a Happy New year! 🎄⭐
who wouldnt have done the same?
When Lex says he wants it all am the only one that expects to hear Vader's theme?
Lex boy can we say overambitious sometimes money and power aren't everything but then again where would empires be without it!
"Find it or fake it"...a narcissist' words...sad, because I liked Lex a lot
Griff got promoted from common assassin to Kryptonian from Kandor
@originalarmo - Holy shit! I didn't even notice that!!
This scene wasn't followed up. Jonathan still won.

Should have let the scene finish. Wasted post.
