I'd love to see a kingdom come movie based on the comic book from the DC Universe as long as Alex Ross is the narrator and this movie pays tribute to Christopher Reeve and his wife Diane Reeve but also dedicate this movie to Adam West and even though she is not dead she is very much alive dedicate this movie to Lynda Carter. It would be a tremendous honor to honor the original Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman.
@@ericsantana1184 I know some voice actors like Jess Harnell do some very convincing Adam West impressions. So, they could have Jess narrate it like Adam West. Or use his lookalike from Misadventures of Adam and Burt.

I love how Christopher Reeve looks at Lionel. Like adversaries who’ve battled a lifetime. I know Lionel isn’t lex but you can see the tension between Superman and a Luthor.
@@gabrielcarrasco9078 My dad tells me he used to read Superman comics in Cuba and he'd never even heard of Lionel, only Lex. He never heard of Lana and Chloe either, just Lois. It seems that many of the characters on Smallville aren't cannon but exclusive to Smallville.

I wonder how the series would of ended up if he was there. Sad Christopher reeve had to pass away. He was my role model, at least his personality and character. Wish he had finished the Smallville series.
I think that the writers intended for Chris to become Jor-El's vessel/emissary, instead of Terence Stamp's voice-overs. But of course, Chris died, and the role went to John Glover's redeemed Lionel Luthor in seasons 5 and 6.
Even though Veritas wasn't thought of until years and years after this, you could look at this scene and say they do know each other somewhat. "I've been wondering how long it'd take for you to finally walk through the door." He must be at least aware of Lionel's activities/obsessions, which could stem back for years.
How true he is missed.. wished he was here to play the part of Superman's dad this time. Miss his persona and no one quite like him.. RIP Christopher Reeve.
It's crazy that this was uploaded right before the final season started airing. It was also almost 6 years after Christopher Reeve passed away (this episode would have been around 7 years older than the upload date). Time is a funny thing; then I remember that Smallville was on the air for 10 years. Rest in Peace Christopher Reeve.
This scene is great; too bad they never detailed the nature of Swann's arrangement with Lionel. Swann winds up with the Krypton Key at the end of this episode, then sends it back to Clark in "Sacred", which takes place about one year later.
I remember it was revealed on season 7 that they were part of a secret society called Veritas. They exist to find and to serve the Traveler from Krypton. Swann founded the organization but was also funded by 3 more families, Teagues, Queens and the Luthors.
Chris was so brilliant in his performance, even with all of his major restrictions. Lionel is usually always five-ten steps ahead of everybody. He has already anticipated any plausible reaction and has a fail safe in place for each. But when Dr Swann deduces Lionel’s fate, the way he stares into Lionel’s soul, when he says “you’re dying” . It still gives me chills. . John’s reaction is equally impressive. Even Lex couldn’t see through him the way Swann did. We had rarely if EVER saw Lionel react in such a vulnerable way up to this point. No one is ever ahead of him. But Swann is in a league of his own.
His character was made and was as pivotal a piece to the show especially then as any character other than Clark himself. The true protector of his secret outside of his own family. Dr.Virgil Swann. Such an amazing idea and concept and they pulled it off completely.
Reeve is a true Kryptonian, because he will never die. For centuries, he will live through the stories told of him. Immortality is not something that can only be achieved in the physical form.
this is always one of my top 5 favorite scenes. 2 legendary actors against each other in an intelligent battle of words. I love Smallville but a few episodes got cliche in their badguy of the week. this was powerful however because you see how smart chris is as a person & actor. and him & john in a scene is all i wanted
TheGrafton12 swanns tone is actually more informal (joking and whatnot) Lionel is being more respectful to his elder, and a chairbound individual. But it comes off as thought he doesn't know Swann personally.
He fits every role he’s given perfectly. I know it’s the actor, but my first thought when seeing him in the show is “Clark Kent Steven Hawking.” (It’s Steven Hawking because I don’t know any other old genius scientists in wheelchairs.)
They made it seem like these two didnt know eachother, but season 7 it shows that they knew eachother for years...then again I cant blame them..they couldnt of known what they were going to do in season 7 during season 2
Sad seeing Christopher reeve like this glad he got to appear in smallville it was great seeing how such a fantastic actor he is it was nice that he got to pass the torch to Tom Weiling even though Tom didnt really appear as superman till the end of the series.

Luthor family is vital in every variant of the stories of Clark Kent and including Lex's father, although his not present in every single story of Superman acr. Leon Luthor should have a different take in the present stories in movies as the COE and Lex should be considered as someone working in secret similar to the Smallville series, but Leon is unaware of this at present. Leon isn't to be trusted either, but he has some secrets as well. The Luthor family could have a movie to.

Not so morbid at all. Funnily enough, Reeve died after showing signs of recovery. had he lived long enough, that scene would have been his way of surprising the world of his cure.
@zl1vette427 the society which was revealed in season 7 was it composed of lionel luthor, The queens, and Virgil swan, the teagues. i think it was made a looong time agoo because in season 4 they talked about some witches who were looking or protecting the traveler. I think the writers didn't plan out the veritas early in the series so thats why lionel and swann don't seem to particularly friendly.

For a split moment there I thought he was going to stand up and walk.... Such a beautiful person he was... yet he got dealt the most grueling hand....God bless Mr. Reeve.
Who were the actual members of the Veritas Society ? Was it Virgil and Lionel or their parents ? It doesn't seem logical that this scene would indicate 2 people who barely recognize one another if they are members of the same secret society. Remember, family members inherited their membership I believe.

Having him play his final acting role in a Superman related series is the best way to go.
