We're a DIY family building our "forever homestead" from 15 acres of raw undeveloped land in Tennessee. All of our content is family friendly and safe for everyone to enjoy.
Tennessee denied our super wide permit to move the mobile home. Why? The width of the home is greater than 16 feet wide. With our new roof over addition to the home, the maximum width is 17 feet. We have to find a way to cut our roof down to fit within regulations and re-apply for a permit to move the mobile home!

When I had my roof reshingled, I made a comment to the supervisor about all the guys wearing safety ropes but none were anchored anywhere. He said the state of Georgia requires them to wear safety gear. No where, in the rules, does it say the rope has to be anchored.

Just got in for lunch from working on the remodel with my oldest son who helped me figure out my electrical situation...without asking!! He walked in and just went to work! So glad your families are so wonderful and jumped in on the last down, ball at the goal line and yay!! TOUCHDOWN!!😃 SO happy all went well, even when the whistle was blown, the team pulled together and gotter done!! I can almost smell the pintos and fried taters with onions already!!🤗

Sam don’t ever underestimate or disregard your contribution no matter how small you think it is or was. It was wonderful for your in-laws to come and help in your time of need and I am not trying to take anything from them. But I think it’s times like these that you find out how much your family loves you. They just jump right in and help do what needs to be done. You and Angelia have worked so hard on your home and your new property and everything you have tried to accomplish with this move. So don’t take away from what you have done. Your family knows you appreciate the help they gave you. May God continue to bless you and your entire family.

Well, today is April 6th so hopefully you got your house moved to Tennessee. Wow ! what a struggle to get that accomplished, but I am so happy your family came through to help you. I just found your channel, very refreshing to see two people who love each other and work together so well. You are just regular people, not trying to be show plates. You are an awesome, beautiful couple. I really loved the boulder vs camper episode. I did the same thing with my motor home. Backed up on a boulder in the middle of the nite and then the headlights went out. I was on my own as my husband was in a wheelchair. After laughing ,then crying, then praying, we just slept at an angle that nite and got help from the kind park ranger the next day. 😀 Bless you and your family, Rhoda

It's 3.30am here in Oz on the 7th so I am really hoping that your house got moved yesterday. On the bright side, it's unlikely anything else to do with your move will ever be as bad. What a shocker; and kudos to your wonderful family for their help.

I am looking at a major move in July as the property sold. I've been told I can take everything with me. Trailer, a/c, softener, pump and pressure tank. This has been a great eye opener. Cost wise its worth it, but. . .guess I better find out how Florida works. Its the 6th, I sure hope all worked out for you!! Hugs
stick that underpinning in the back door, before they move it, and block it yourself, be sure and lay down visqueen before you block. I moved my MB several times. Its hard work , but in the long run ,u are saving a ton of money. Best of luck!!

blessed is absolutely right! i am sending thoughts of completion and relief your way!!! i used to work as a virtual claims adjuster for homeowners insurance. specifically i handled a lot of mobile homes and subscribed to your channel to help me visualize demo and repairs for this type of home. i remember reading about policies covering the costs of the moving a mobile home, but there were so many strings attached. i imagine no one has been able to move their mobile home without some stress or hiccup. you are doing an amazing job of keeping your head on and trudging forward!

Breaks my heart you had to saw off those inches of metal roofing, but so glad there was a fix so y’all could have your home moved. I have heard you say disparaging words about your mobile home, my feelings say feel proud to have such a cozy home for your family. I have lived in many places, in many different types of homes the only thing that mattered was that we were together.
I LOVE the safety harness the guy on the roof has , the guy on the side holding onto the end of that rope doesnt look like heh as enough strength though to catch him if he falls .lol

Them and that saw were a blessing! Glad y'all were able to fix it so quickly. The weather is supposed to be rough later, so hopefully they were able to get it moved today! Last year our double-wide got delivered when it was pouring down rain. They had a muddy mess getting it up the hill.

When my folks moved their house they had similar issues. The movers just sawed off the porch overhang and rebuilt the porch after the move. Hopefully your movers just sawed off one of the overhands and fixed it later. And just as I typed this...the saws came out lol.
So upsetting, but on the good side family came to the rescue. What a blessing. This is an adventure that you will be able to talk about to your grandkids and new friends you meet. Oh I’d be so frustrated. I’m frustrated seeing you cut a perfectly good home. You handle this sooo well. Such a blessing to be able to bring your home though! We just bought a fixer upper mobile home. It’s going to need a complete renovation water damage big time but it was affordable and we will be debt free soon:)

Hay i am a steel roof installer all you need it touch-up paint and install gutters .just make sure you put the gutters under dripeadge to prevent Fassa rott otherwise looks good. You should bea0 to find tuch up paint in a spray can from roofing manufacturer ether theer website or frome distributor.
I was so bummed to heat about the roof but so happy you had some great help. Not much longer and you will be getting settled in. I hope the move goes well.
WTH, Tennesee??? Many states allow 18' wide mobile homes, glad you were able to trim your roof down & had a great crew that stepped up for you!
