    How neat. That looks like such a cute small town. Amazing how the driver so easily moves the sides to align them and the machine gets the few extra inches. That company did a great job. 😊👍

    i was just recently forced to relocate to a new town and happened to find an '80 something double wide kinda on short notice pretty cheap. im glad i found something and its in decent shape but, i wasnt wanting to move period let alone hours away to a different town. i have no intention of staying in the town but im stuck with the trailer now so im just hoping i can get a small piece of land back in my original hometown and get moved back. selling isnt an option right now. problem is finding some land and hoping i can find someone to move it a couple hundred miles, then paying more to move it than i paid for the trailer in the first place.

    Thanks for sharing this. I was trying to figure out some options, and if it would be possible to move a double-wide. The previous owner of mine actually went to the trouble of pouring a concrete basement to attach it onto. It is so incredibly sturdy now.

    I have never had a video playing such calming music stress me out as bad as this one did when that very confident driver wedged the two pieces of your home together the way that he did. I was very anxious and very impressed. 😂

  • @primalsam

    Wow! That’s so cool to watch. Do you think the process would be similar to relocate an existing modular/prefab home?

    • @tiffanyburkett390
      @tiffanyburkett390 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's the same process just a few a little different equipment and a little pricier but my only advice is make sure whom ever moves the home is state certified and insured. If not then you will not pass fire or electric inspections and if something happens while they are moving your home then it will not be paid for.

      @Ethan Poole It depends on how far you move the home. Now I could be wrong, but the home in the video dosent have plastic wrapping covering the open halves, so it probably didn't go very far, idk. Homes that have a long trip are covered and braced usually in the open halves. I just had a 32x80 moved to my home, took 6 hours to get to my home from the dealer. My home is drywalled, and we did have some cracks in places on the drywall, and a ceiling crack. Now remember this was a 6 hour trip, and so that's to be expected. But no breaks or chunks lost in the drywall. But some areas will need to be repaired and painted by finish out crew. Also lost some shingles in a few spots that will be replaced. My movers where good, but they don't control cracks, that just really the distance and terrain, etc.
      Cracks are to be expected in drywall from long trips though, and also the quality of the home materials plays a factor.
      Good luck.

      it isn't cheap. It cost several grand and that will vary depending upon your mover and all that it is involved. The largest portion of the expense was the dirt work and concrete runners.

You also haft to factor in the cost of inspections and certification stickers so always make sure the movers are state certified and insured.

      Id love any tips and tricks you learned along the way like what you had to do to prepare the home and how much had to be done to the inside after it was reassembled.
      I have no idea if its even feasible cost wise since it would be being moved 6 states away.
