It's exciting to see you getting closer to being able to move back into your home! That new door really makes a difference and its placement is much better than the old one. Agree. Campers are no fun in the heat of summer even with air conditioning. Thanks again for another great video and more awesome blooper moments!

Love the project. But I must add that I installed the same style of door in my addition . I made the fatal mistake of not painting the door jamb with a good solid weather resistant paint. Within 3 to 4 years, the bottom portion of the jamb, approximately 2 feet up from the threshold , both sides of the fingerjointed wood was destroyed from water penetration. I had to replace the jamb. Valuable lesson learned.

The exterior tin can stay right where it is when you put new siding on. Full size door is a great upgrade. Good progress.

Enjoyed seeing the successful install of the new back door. A well-thought-out design look forward to the rest of the execution. I especially enjoyed seeing the shot out the back door as the kids were playing. I remember when you were clearing that part of the land in the forest. And now we can look back and see your dreams are taking shape. Thanks for bringing us along.

It's really cool for us to walk through the woods and remember how it used to be! We have many trails and paths through the woods now. The boys love riding their bikes through them and it's also just nice to walk around in for downtime. :) We should show some of that in a video soon..

"Come on Chickadee!"..LOL That old door was trying to hang on like a cat with nine lives!
The new door does look good and like Angela mentioned provides a lot of light. Don't worry about the ugly outside it is a work in progress and we know you guys will get to that project when you can. Great job!

    Hi Sam and Angela
Who would have thunk😊 that seeing a door installed would be so fun to watch.
In time lapse it looked like you were attacking the old door like you were mad as all get out.
    As Sam keeps saying,
It's a 1988 Palm Harbor single wide mobile home.
It's gonna look ruff in places.
At least the interior is 21st century now.
Sam always has me laughing. Now Angela is showing her comedic side.
Can't wait to see what's next.
    Stay strong and safe

Hi! Seeing the kids out the back door instantly brought back memories of me playing marbles in the dirt. We didn't have much money back then, nobody did really, even marbles cost money. You drew a circle in the dirt. you threw your marbles in. Then every one took a turn trying to shoot the best marbles out of the circle. If you did shoot one out it belonged to you now. Cat eyes were normal, big round ones were next prized called boulders. Then the puries the best prized marble to get. If you were good, you left with a nice big bag of newly accquired beautiful marbles. I love your progress. Thank you!

Looks Great guys! A camper AC normally only cools the RV 20 degrees cooler then the outside temperature. You are dealing with a 1-1/2” to 1-3/4” wall not a lot of insulation. We lived in a 40’ motor home for 16 years, understand what you are talking about. Worked in the RV industry also during that time

I learned not to kick out stuff when I upgraded the windows in my first house,
It started pulling the siding away from the wall,
Luckily I didn't push it too far
    and didn't damage it,
When you said kick out the door I was waiting for the outside sheet metal siding to come with it, better to take your time and ease it out.

You guys work so well together! The door looks awesome!! With 98° temps. and school coming to an end the boys need a pool. Bonus with the pool they won't have to take showers!!!

  • @rubberdc
    @rubberdc 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Angela , I can see how proud you are of the new door , one thing i noticed though , when you opened it , the door frame seemed to touch the wall where the electric stuff is , have you considered placing a small doorstop so the new door doesnt damage the wall or damage the door frame ?It will get scuff marks on it .

Ours is a '94 double wide. And I"m about to change the utility door from a 74x32 inch right hand inswing to a 80x36 left hand outswing. Thanks for the boost in confidence. I guess anything is impossible. Wish me luck as I've not yet opened the drywall to see what style header I have under there.

Sam and Angela...Love your channel, I have learned so much DIY info and though I probably could have figured out some of the "tricks of the trade", so to speak, you Sam help it make sense. I have watched almost all of the UTube shows you have put out and even have watched some more than once, but it is good stuff. You both compliment each other so well!!! There is so much more I could share, but don't want to give you big heads, hahaha. Keep out the great work and would love to be able visit, but my wife (Beth) and I live in Arizona, so that is probably not going to happen. Take care and keep those episodes coming. Thanks!!!

Great job!!! One thing to note - The sill/flashing tape at bottom is absolutely essential... but additionally, running a few beads of Liquid Nails on top the sill tape (under door frame) before setting the door into place ensures the best protection from the elements such as water, insects, etc... I learned the hard way that water always finds its way in. 😉
