@@MrRerod Because screwing eliminates the need. In the old days, when nails were the norm, glue had its place. With screws it serves little to no purpose. It's just extra money, extra mess, and extra chemicals in your home for no real benefit. Plus, most sub-floor adhesives barely work anyway.
I'm enjoying your mobile home remodel and repair videos; and learning a lot. I don't have notifications turned on for anything; nothing personal but if I'm reading, typing, or watching something I don't want interrupted. Just now, I've looked to see if you have a new video, which you don't. At the same time I had to tell myself that you don't bore us with multiple videos of the same 'ole, same 'ole yet speed through or verbally keep us up to date, you are just 2 people doing both the construction work AND the content generation, plus juggling life, kids, homesteading and garden activities, juggling camper life off grid, working on getting contractor and utility work scheduled and going - Im sure I've missed something. Gotta hand it to you, you're working hard with visible results and visions of a less hectic second year.

I remember the days the only tools me or my dad would buy were Craftsmen. Didn't they used to have a lifetime warranty (I'm 64 for reference - Lol)? It's so cute to see how excited Angela gets with new tools. Love watching your progress. Once again, your bloopers were awesome! So your younger son wants to be an ice sculptor when he grows up? Lol.
@@carlapierle8623 I'm not sure if they cover all hand tools. I used to do metal work (30 years ago) and back then they were shying away from the guarantee on snips. I guess I can say that was good while it lasted. Check their sight for clarity on their warranty.

I haven't verified it, but I've heard their quality went downhill a bit after they were bought out. Milwaukee and Dewalt seem to sell top notch tools though. Also, I haven't had any problems with craftsman tools personally. I quite like them.

This brings back memories. We are in the process of remodeling our 1980’s manufactured home. Having to replace some flooring. They not only used a ton of staples but they glued the entire joist. Made removing the subfloor very tedious. And hammock floors! Finally a name for this ridiculous up and down wave. Ay yi yi. Love watching you all. You’re just the cutest. Keep up the good work!

Appalachian in VA as we live in southeastern VA, and have always dreamed of having a second home and possibly retiring there. However, we are not rich folks and with the cost of building materials, there’s no possible way we could even think of even building a small home, as in tiny. After watching you guys, and hopefully finding some cheap property, we are considering an older mobile home to renovate! We are inspired! You guys don't know how lucky you are that your home was built prior to spray foam. Every single of our exterior walls were spray foamed to the sheetrock. Between that and the staples I'm getting sick of this project. I can't wait until we get to the point where we're putting up Sheetrock and flooring. And I think I might cry when we get to paint. Hopefully once we move permanently to our property it will start going quicker. 🤞🙏. I prefer the stubby pry bar also, my husband likes a full size crowbar lol. I thought I was the only girl who loves cool tool 🤣. I have no idea why I enjoy watching you guys do the same things we're doing, I guess misery loves company. 🤣🤣🤣 Those boys melt my heart, so adorable 🥰

I wish i could find a double wide home I would fix it up as well as SAM & ANGELA no mortage some people have money to spin or just to say I have it all about happiness comfortable no rent yea! the lumber is the house no matter what you are building
@@estellaknox9285 No mortgage is the goal, I am looking for a mobile home as well. I just do not want that overbearing large boxes in which you have to pay these high property taxes. I would say the cost is a lot less than a 30 yr mortgage.

Hi from just over the water in Powell River! :). My mobile home had rotten subfloors so I redid all of them with plywood and reclaimed fir flooring. Inexpensive and looks amazing!
Always enjoy watching and learning remodeling tips. Also admire your positive attitude and practical approach to solving issues as you come to them. Sure beats watching some of these lawn cutting videos.

Ran a repair business for several years repairing manufactured homes. Done a lot of subfloors and found it beneficial to sister the floor joist at the subfloor joints. Made it faster and much more solid.
Polish your glasses with shaving cream, both sides then they will not fog up! (Food processing inspector trick, always going from warm to cold to warm)
Wow! The mobile homes back then were not built with high quality materials or for longevity, but what a great job on the renovations. Angela, I can relate to the excitement of new tools. Some women like makeup/purses I like tools!!! I have my stash.
I love watching you two at working on your single wide! I agree with your decisions as to avoiding the tongue and groove pain in the butt flooring! I wish that when I was married back when I was your ages, that we both had the work ethics you two share. My wife back then didn’t want anything to do with renovations of any sort. Once I learned that, I never did any more work on our trailer. It was a 1964 Champion and believe me, the champ was long gone in that led place! What you are fixing, I’ve done myself and the memories brought back watching you guys is just exhilarating! I believe most if not all of them do, it's much quicker to lay all the flooring throughout the home before putting up the walls.

Ran a repair business for several years repairing manufactured homes. Done a lot of subfloors and found it beneficial to sister the floor joist at the subfloor joints. Made it faster and much more solid.

Wow! The mobile homes back then were not built with high quality materials or for longevity, but what a great job on the renovations. Angela, I can relate to the excitement of new tools. Some women like makeup/purses I like tools!!! I have my stash.

I love watching you two at working on your single wide! I agree with your decisions as to avoiding the tongue and groove pain in the butt flooring! I wish that when I was married back when I was your ages, that we both had the work ethics you two share. My wife back then didn’t want anything to do with renovations of any sort. Once I learned that, I never did any more work on our trailer. It was a 1964 Champion and believe me, the champ was long gone in that led place! What you are fixing, I’ve done myself and the memories brought back watching you guys is just exhilarating!
