    🔷 ABOUT US 🔷
We're a DIY family building our "forever homestead" from 15 acres of raw undeveloped land in Tennessee. All of our content is family friendly and safe for everyone to enjoy.
In today's video we are working in our master bedroom renovation of our 1988 Palm Harbor 14 x 70 single wide mobile home. We are tearing out the floor, and subfloor, adding in blocking for proper support, insulating the floor for better efficiency, and fixing rotten floor joists by sistering the joists. We finish out the project by laying down 3/4" plywood and attaching it all with Spax screws. Let's go!

@@MrRerod Because screwing eliminates the need. In the old days, when nails were the norm, glue had its place. With screws it serves little to no purpose. It's just extra money, extra mess, and extra chemicals in your home for no real benefit. Plus, most sub-floor adhesives barely work anyway.

Between that and the staples I'm getting sick of this project. I can't wait until we get to the point where we're putting up Sheetrock and flooring. And I think I might cry when we get to paint. Hopefully once we move permanently to our property it will start going quicker. 🤞🙏. I prefer the stubby pry bar also, my husband likes a full size crowbar lol. o k guys, after many years of watching many great channels on tube, this is the very first time I have ever commented. First of all thank you for the quality of your channel, and as a retired law enforcement officer and 30 year business owner and father, the quality time and effort you spend with your two boys. my wife of 50 years and I have really enjoyed you and your family starting your homestead on your new property. What an endevor you all have taken on. But this brings up a question we just have to ask. we have been fans of Josh of Stoney ridge farmer. and have noticed you have formated your channel a lot like his, and a lot of your narrowation is the same. He, like you all, have started on a shoe string and got many sponcers and has really taken off. At any rate, we really are enjoying watching your efforts and hard work to make this place the homestead of your dreams, and I am so impressed by all the hard work you folks are applying to fulfil your goals. God Bless your family and you and your homestead are in our prayers. Thanks and may this be the best place ever Don and Chris Paine Belton, Tx.

When I did this as a young man for a job we would buy 1/4 “ plywood sanaded on one side and put it down over the old floor and nail it with ring shanks every six inches like a checkerboard indenting the nail head followed up with a coat of floor patch over nails and taped joints hit it with a quick sanding and put the new flooring down,

Love your channel so far. You should really apply glue to the joists before you lay your plywood, it prevents a lot of floor noises and squeaks.

Factory edge out. Cut edge in. My respects to anyone as crazy as me to tackle this. With the price of stick builds soaring rehabbing an older MH makes sense.Kudos for dumping SOB oops I mean OSB for plywood. You won’t regret it.

I just got a new Ryobi brushless Oscillating multi-tool for remodeling my mobile home. Don't like the switch on it, hard to turn on and can't shut it off right away. I just might be switching to Carsftman cordless power tools! Working on replacing the bottom plate on the walls and repairing or replacing any rim joist that are bad.
Just starting to be brave enough to record what I'm doing! My channel isn't nearly as good as yours, but still fun to help others who might need it. Will be posting a new video tomorrow night. Plywood? Next thing you'll be using Shiplap! 😅 Great job, love what you're doing!
