- On Saturday, February 10th, 2024, amid unseasonably warm temperatures, I spontaneously decided to take off in my newly-converted car-aka-travelling tent, and head to Silent Lake Provincial Park for a little “smoothing” time (watch. Idea for explanation!) I also test out three different meals suitable for future backpacking trips. It was blissful to hike a mid the pristine, white snow. What a wonderful weekend it was. Join me!
(The Texas Lonestar, hiking trail video series will continue next week.)

Very cool car transformation! Big up Colin.
Colin is a pretty great friend and he knows how to do stuff. And he has tools. So thankful. 🥰
Hi Miss Christina! Silent lake looks like a nice getaway spot! Thanks for sharing this video. Take care and god bless you!
Right back at you, Dan. 🥰🙏🏼✌🏼
This video is a nice surprise as I was wondering when you’d be back to your local woods and waters with a video, you must be a mind reader because here it is. The welcome back by the birds was a nice surprise!
I’m amazed at the amount of useful room you found in your car with your camper build out. You look ready to hit the highways and byways this summer, can’t wait to see where your spontaneous travels take you.
Thanks, Robert! I can’t wait for more local weekend getaways like this one, but with more hiking. I booked a bunch of backcountry spots today. So stay tuned for more after the Texas series is done! Great to hear from you, my friend. 😊✌🏼
It looks like your modifications to your little car can open up a whole lot of extra possibilities for both you and your car. A great job on that and it seems to work very well for what you need from it. All in all a great camping adventure this time for certain. The sky is the limit for what you may come up with for that setup in the future I think. And you have that awesome pop up canopy to even add more to it if you choose to at anytime. Very well done Christina. I have been away from the reliable internet service for a while on a travel/visit so now that I have returned I will now jump back into finishing the video series of your Texas trail hike. Take care my friend and thank you as always for your efforts with the videos and allowing us to join you. See you on the next one.
Soooooooo wonderful to hear from you, Mister Campfire! Happy, happy new year to you, my dear! 🥰
Fun winter video. I loved the little birds. That car conversion looks great too. I know you'll have fun with that.
Indeed! Great to hear from you, Phil! 😊✌🏼
I was estatic to get the notification of this video! Great job on your car, well thought out and functional. I havent done much camping in the last 10yrs but certainly will this Spring😊
Awesome! I am excited for you! Not long until Spring now! 🥰✌🏼
Nice car transformation and love the moose. The hat is lovely, too. Good luck on the 2000 pushups.
I’m at 792 push-ups so far! Nice to hear from you, Linda! 🥰🙏🏼✌🏼
I used to feed chickadees peanuts right out of my hand, they loves their peanuts! Beauty hike WiW🪒
But we aren’t supposed to feed the wildlife so I don’t. But I really want to. I have almonds and hazelnuts in the car. I definitely thought about them! 🥰✌🏼
❤
Wow,very impressed...you were making me hungry..lol
Looks like a great set up for oh maybe your papa...just need to add the nighttime brandy.
All kidding aside,well organized...IMPRESSED
GOOD FOR YOU ! !
Hi, Daddy! If we went camping, you could definitely take the car and I would sleep in a tent. The bed is a tad short but with feet propped on the armrest of the front seat, it’s perfectly comfy. Can’t wait until you come home! Love you! 🥰
I suv camped last summer from north bay to pukaskwa National park and back. Amazing, with beautiful hiking options. Not sure if you've been that way yet, but lake superior is incredibly beautiful!
I rode my bike and camped along part of Lake Superior when I rode from Toronto to Vancouver in 2020, but haven’t done any hiking there…yet! I’ll check out the national park you mention. Thanks for the tip! 🥰✌🏼
Silent lake is beautiful I live less than a from it used to camp there often
Used to? Why don’t you anymore?
@Womaninthewoods13 life kids grandkids everything consumes my time and I had a close call in Algonquin Park with a moose a few years ago
Nice video. The car setup is pretty sweet!! :)

Haha, I’d like to come back to see and hike in Big Bend National Park one day!
@@Womaninthewoods13 same. That’s on my list but not in the summer. Super hot 🥵
Great set up. Are you going to Winter in the Wild at Mew Family Day weekend?
It sounds like some large group activity…so definitely not! 😂 (I’m going to Vancouver.) Are you? (Googling this now…)
Ever camp at arrowhead for winter
No, I’ve only hiked there.
Can you send a link to the curtains you bought on Amazon? Thanks!
Love the set up, hoping to do something similar with my Outlander some day!
Hi, Beth! Sorry I missed this comment. When you say “curtains,” are you referring to the window covers? I bought them on Amazon… I will try to find the link to the specific ones I purchased. They are great because they pop out and can be folded back in again. Very convenient, although the size is not perfect. Have a wonderful weekend, my friend!
This is not the exact item I ordered. I can’t find my past order, it was too long ago. But it was something almost exactly like this. Here’s the link, although this is Amazon Canada, but you’ll get the picture. Hope this helps, Beth.

@@Womaninthewoods13 thank you!
Love the car tent! Where are your poles?!
In the front seat! You can see them when I show the front seat stuff. 😁
@@Womaninthewoods13 But you didn’t use them on your hike on the icy trail 😊
@@karenbergmann209 True. I wasn’t planning on being out longer than the 400m (and back) to the beach. I just kept going and going…
@@Womaninthewoods13 😀
How come you did not upload the rest of the Texas Trail? It only goes up to day five?
As I said in this video, I am just interrupting the series; I’m not finished with it. At the end of the video, I again say that next week the Texas series will continue. Worry pas. 😊✌🏼
Can the car go back together
Yes! Pretty easily, too.
@@Womaninthewoods13 ok how tall are you then lol
@@jayburne6825 I am 157 cm. I don’t understand what that has to do with reinstalling the back seat… Please explain! 🤔🤷🏻♀️
@Womaninthewoods13 I figure you did it for more leg room you have slept in it several times but I get it now you want to have a mini camper like car ....I have slept in my mini cooper but I'm 6' lol I need a mini van lol
Any post cards from your flip flop that went on ahead down river? roglmao
Huh?
way back you were crossing a small river and your flop came off and it floated away from you down river........I hear it's travelling the world now. If I am not mistaken since that incident you were shoes with a back strap. Cheers
