  • On Friday, May 3rd, 2024, I drove north from Toronto and camped in my car-cum-tent on some Crown Land. The next day, I hiked 13 KMS on the Highlands Backpacking Trail to camp spot #3 on Head Lake. There, I camped overnight, built a fire, went paddling in my pack craft on the lake, and enjoyed being alone in the deep dark woods of Algonquin Park, that I love so very much. The next day, on Sunday morning, I got up just before sunrise, made coffee, then went out for a super long and super far paddle in my pack raft. Fortune favours the bold, and I was rewarded for my exploring by the discovery of a beautiful waterfall. Finally, I packed up camp just before the rain started to fall. I hiked out the 13 KMS in a light and intermittent rain, feeling so very at peace and deeply happy to be home.
Join me for a super fun and action-packed weekend adventure. This will be the first of eight homegrown hike/camp adventures here in Ontario, Canada, before I once again take off for the summer for another big adventure abroad. 😊✌🏼
