I've said it before and I'll say it again TrailMater is such a Beast! It wouldn't be though without Rory at the helm. It is an example of "farfennugen", man and machine as one. I know I spelled that wrong but spell check is on English not German.
Trailmater never ceases to amaze me. But boy at that 2 minute mark I thought damn Rory you keep at it you're going to twist an axle. But as usual Rory's got way more sense than that. Great video guys keep em coming!

Stacking with the vehicle was awesome!! When the welder died I though, no spare parts? But you carried them for ever without the need... Time for a welder in the LJ!!! Great video and views Mike and Shawn!!!
For the amount of use you have shown us I can only imagine how often that welder is actually used so having an issue with the regulator is not surprising. Taking the spare out of the truck is the sure-fire way to need it. Kind of like the ballast resistors for older Mopars. Good trail fix even if it took 2 days it still drove out. Nice touch with the mustache Justin. Thanks for sharing.

1:50 wheelbase was your enemy that day. I think some of these shots would make great puzzles. Have you ever rescued anybody that said they drove over the toes and still had problems?
Hard to believe Trail Mater still runs an old Delco direct drive starter. After going Tilton 25 years ago, I was sold, it'll crank it up a rock wall. That 25 year old Tilton is still going strong !! The old girl deserves a stout starter !!
The obsticle at 8:05 was insane on how narrow and trecherous it was. Rory's intestinal fortitude and skill came through. A lesser driver would have seriously stained some underpants.

Mater can even stack its own rocks. Careful when the machines take over, mater gonna be one of the leaders. lol Real question tho. Can you explain the reason your trailers are not deckovers other than center of gravity? Just seems loading longer and wider rigs would be easier without the fenders in the way.

That starter works fine, if you can start it with a bolt or screwdriver. It's got to be either the starter switch or it wiring. Very easy fix. I notice you stall a lot when you are trying to crawl up obstacles at very low RPM. That's because you have very little power at that RPM. If you could use a lower gear to get the RPM higher it might help. Just a thought.
I remember first time I saw someone start a starter with a piece of metal across the terminals. Was a boring day and was getting disinterest with motor vehicles. This person did that and every lit up. Not so boring anymore. Guess there more to do with motor vehicles that is interesting. Nice fix and video.
Another good recovery video. When you guys do your budget buggy racing can you invite Matt's Off Road Recovery, Fab Rats, and other off road enthusiasts? It's better when there's more competition.

Trailmater is such an amazing recovery rig. Takes more punishment than the above average trail rig then drags out or repairs those rigs .
