I know that not everyone can do what they know they should when comes to preparation and equipment, but if he would have had a good set of tires and a full set of chains he would have, most likely, not needed to call for assistance. Hello Mike and Shawn. You and Rory have a lot to teach some other recovery teams regarding t use of snow or spike chains in winter conditions. As you are the first to know, the drive are much more safe and the job so much more effective done. I have often had the feeling of a completly different world when we have been towing a trailer with equipment on icy and snowy offroad trails. We have much to learn from all the recovery teams about offroad driving which mostly only are legal for people who need to go offroad in their work in Norway. And we have great respect for icy and snowy offroad trails. For streat legal vehicles it's illegal to drive ŵith all season tires in Norway, you have to use approved wintertires either with or without spikes. And maybe a set of mud/snow tires.
Make that a full set of QUALITY Chains and a few chain repair parts. If anyone is going out where he went, unprepaired, don't go!!!
