Is the 2019 Porsche Macan S the SUV that PERFORMS like a 911?

- The Porsche Macan S has been refreshed for 2019. Under the hood is a 3.0L turbocharged V6 that produces 348 HP & mated to a 7-speed PDK gearbox. It's exterior features updates to both the front and rear fascias including the taillights. On the inside you get an updated infotainment system with a 10.9 in screen and sports car style seating. Does the 2019 Porsche Macan S perform like a 911 and outsell it?

Joe, the camera angles, it all makes you feel like you are there next to you. Very life-like. This is how I want to tour a car if i'm thinking about buying it. Your approach is simple, and that is a compliment, my friend. Have you ever thought about doing long-term interviews with owners of certain cars. I'm in the market for a Macan, and would love a new one, but I'm also evaluating a 2015 to 2017. Thanks. (This spec is insance, with the silver and the RS wheels).

Joe, i am on my second Macan and yes i use it as my daily driver. My new 2019 is a great suv and i love the new infotainment and i also love the buttons. I understand there are a lot if buttons, but it looks good and the buttons are easy to operate. Dont have to go into a dumb screen to set the temperature or change the fan speed. I think you are incorrect about the Macan being a Sportscar. It is an suv with a nice sporty feel, but not a sports car! My 2014 Boxster s is a sportscar, you can throw it in a curve and it holds, the Macan is about luxury with a sporty feel and that is why people buy it
How is it on maintenance?💰
I think it's good that you get a lot of buttons. That means more functions you have access to without having to deal with the screen. After a good look at the manual and week of driving it everyday, you'll know every button by feel.
I love the buttons in my 2021. They vanished in 2022.

I tell people my 2021 Macan Turbo is a lifted 911. The PSCB are fantastic and leave no dust behind.
Agreed with the fake vent at the bottom of the front bumper. Wish they put a nice, bright LED light down there.
Absolutely love all the buttons. My ventilated seats are only one click. HVAC controls are easy and available as well.
Great vehicle. Also does 25 MPG on the highway. Much better than EPA estimates.
PS - coming from the X3 M40i, I agree with you on the exhaust note and general sports sounds.

I wish you reviewed the 4 cylinder engine on the Maccan. Other reviewers say it falls short on the highway but on local roads it shines.
For the clamshell good, you and Doug DeMuro missed out putting your head through the headlight cut outs.
As for the buttons everywhere, Brian Cooley said that the car has buttons that are related to one another but are in different zip codes.
Oh as for the key that looks like that is stuck there, you can remove it. I wonder if it's like that for all Porsche's.
What a beautiful car, with performance to match. As much as I’d love to have a new or newer 911, this is much cheaper and more practical, but still sporty and fun to drive. Now, if I could just afford it!

Do your own brake jobs/oil changes/ filters and the Macan S will be affordable to own. I can’t wait to get one. While I would prefer a Cayman, I still have kids in the house.

I just bought a 2017 one a month ago I can wait to tune it and I want to add that lip on the front mine doesnt have that. Overall I like it. I bought it as a TURO rental vehicle but now I like it so much I am not going to rent it at all instead I will turn it into a beast like you said with like a maybe a stage 2

The blank switches in a $70k Porsche is a big zonk for me. They could’ve put storage or phone holder there. Just my opinion 😂
I don't agree that the Macan S should have more engine feedback noise invading the cabin. We all know the quietest one is the deadliest one.

2017 Carrera 4S. I have , Macan cant even get close to the proformance and Handling. Drove a brand new Macan GTS again cant compare it to a 911 Base model
It's odd that Porsche doesn't make a more hardcore version of the Macan to compete against the BMW X3 M. Seems like a missed opportunity to me.

Sorry you don’t like that hood. Look again, it is a work of art. It flows around the car, no cuts, no seams going down around the wheels and in the front down to the grill. So fluid, so artistic and very aerodynamic!

No, that would be the Macan Turbo with performance package. This is very nice also though.
The MAcan S has the same interior room as my Golf R and the MAcan is heavier, slower and can cost up to $150,000 CAD.

Porsche doesn't stand behind the quality of their vehicles. Transfer case on my 2015 Macan S has failed twice now in only 27,000 miles. This is a known issue which caused Porsche to extend their warranty to 7 ys. Their "improved" transfer case lasted only 2 years 2 months and 9,000 miles. I am out of warranty by 6 weeks and Porsche turns their back on problem and sticks me for $3,200 repair. Don't buy a Porsche w/o extended warranty for entire length of time you expect to own it. #1 rated warranty company - Endurance - won't even sell coverage on Macan. That should tell Porsche and all potential buyers something. Customer experience is far from an expected premium car brand experience.
I stopped watching this after 10 minutes, you haven’t done your homework. The white side boards are not standard, you say you wish they had black ones, well the black ones are standard. You like the chrono clock as standard on the S, the chrono isn’t standard. I didn’t watch anymore so maybe there were more inaccuracies. Please, if you are going to do a review, you should know what you talking about.

Sorry, but Porsche has won the 24 hours of Le Mans 19 times overall! This guy repeatedly claims that it's only "17 times"... Just do your homework, Mr. Raiti!

Seemingly you don't know much about Porsches Le Mans 24 hours race history.
Maybe you don't count Porsches Le Mans victories from 1996 and 1997 as true Porsche, because the racecar was a "TWR-Porsche WSC-95"...? But actually these were officially Porsche race cars and with Joest-Racing they had an official Porsche race team.
Porsche overall victory Nr. 17 was in 2015 with the first of three 919 hybrid victories. The second 919 hybrid victory was 2016 and the third in 2017! What's so difficult about it to understand? Just look at Le Mans racing history until today, beginning with Porsches first overall victory in 1970, and you will find out that the correct number is 19, not 17!

I guarantee you if you line up a cvr and RAV4 with the Macan, you’d have a line of people trying to get into the Porsche
