Joey Gillespie I don’t think it’s for you then honestly, it’s kinda like magic in the sense that even when you know somethin sly is gonna happen, a big part of the entertainment is how good the misdirection itself is
His jokes are just so deep because you hear him a few times and can predict the punch line but then he goes about 2 layers deeper with something out of the blue. Genius.
Every time I think I know what he will say... whoosh! Goes far beyond what I thought he would ever say.
and then he'll hit you with something very shallow (meaning not deep, not "bad") to confuse you and it's amazing

I think part of it's also him watching parts of the crowd slowly realizing the joke. You'll see his eyes scanning the audience and then that smirk fucking kills me every time 😂
He gets it more under control over time. He slips really only once in his new special, but his course correction of the crowd is brilliant.

@@Phobero I love norm McDonald, he is hands down in my top 5 favorite comedians. But after hearing this man tell jokes for the first time in my life tonight, Ik that norm McDonald was a great comedian, but he was not a legendary comedian. I have NEVER heard dark humor as dark as this man’s jokes, never in my life have I seen dark humor be done so brilliantly, and so precisely. He makes me laugh at jokes with material that I thought I would never laugh about as long as I lived. And for the first time in my life after watching his two Netflix specials, I realized that there is no such thing as too soon, and there is no subject matter too dark, there are only good jokes and bad jokes. Imo this man is truly a legendary comedian, if there ever was one, and I can’t believe I’ve never heard of him before tonight.

@The Derp Knight Dark Humor has actually a strong, positive effect on most peoples mind. I totally dig y u don't like that type of jokes and I wouldn't tell them either so I don't offend people with a soft humor by accident. But u reduced this brilliant joke to it's bad taste instead of aknowledin its finess. It critizises how fake a lot of "religious" people are while it lets us fantasize bout how ironic their bad karma can turn on em.
Dependig on how much it's outcome surprised u it also might show u how naive, negative or even sane ur expectations on life and people r. So if someone isn't offended by this type of joke it's maybe just beacause they have a deeper, more complex sense of humor than u. Accusing good people of havin such a horrible sexual preference to win over an argument is also quite a proof for u havin an even worse taste then them. And please don't use the world pedophile as an synonym for child molester. Yes, child molesters are always pedophiles but pedophiles aren't always child molesters. In my oppinion pedophilia is a sickness that a lot of poor people have to fight everyday. And I'm 100% sure that there a lot of people out there who r takin the suffer of an unfullfilled sexual life, full of frustrations to behave right and they don't deserve it to be seen like we see the ones that gave up and commited that unforgivable crime ur talkin bout. I know it's not easy to see it like that but I think that it could help pedophiles to face their problems before it's to late. Not only to late for them but also to late for their innocent victims.

This guy DEFINES the comedic maxim that EVERYTHING is funny if you know how to write a joke. The last bit here, about his girlfriend's dad and the crucifix, is BRILLIANTLY conceived, written, and delivered. The underlying concept is horrifying and stomach-turning, but he manages to make it funny. That is comedy defined.

I love how your jokes deal with the sensitive topic of molestation, but never punch down on the victims. It is more of a satire on how the society views it, and the fact that you can differentiate between exploring a taboo topic and exploiting it, is bloody brilliant.

My religion teacher did the same to me at school. Being able to joke about it took away all its power, and gave me control of the narrative. I get so annoyed at people who lecture and try to virtue signal. I always think, "You don't understand.It's not your battle."

He’s a comedic genius… like it doesn’t even have to be a dark joke, just his slow methodical delivery. Perfectly timed pauses and unmatched misdirection on the punchlines. Like he has one joke that gets me every time. Something like “my dad was a very secretive man. In fact he used to have a saying… but he never told me” 😂😂😂 every time I hear it, I’m in tears.
