The Aunt's paranoia about marrying before OP actually saved OP's life. Fiance was a loser scammer who just wanted to marry a woman with money to use her to get out of his illegal debt. What I don't understand is why OP was still living with her Aunt before and after what she did. She was a nurse and making her own money. But in the long run its just as well since the Aunt's husband would have ended her without OP's intervention. OP, please be more careful in any future men you left into your life. Find someone on your level and have something in common with. You work in a hospital full of professionals, like yourself. Maybe start there.
You can’t expect others to hold out marriage bc you want it first. Plus OP is younger and she has a higher chance of getting married before aunt,especially if the aunt doesn’t have a bf.
The only thing I can't grasp is when Raul first went to jail for possession and using drugs, why OP didn't request a toxicology test or request to see when it was performed since of they were holding that as one of the charges, OP should have let him rot in prison. I also wonder if Raul would have had the chance to spike OP'S food or drink like he was able to spike her aunt's drinks.
For those who criticize OP, I do have some counter-arguments. OP lived with her aunt since her parents didn't take care of her. Was her aunt perfect? Of course not. But seeing how OP said that her parents didn't take care of her, OP's aunt seemed better than her parents. No, that doesn't excuse her behavior, but you get the idea. While OP was a nurse, we don't exactly know how long for, nor which country she was in. Pay varies greatly from country to country. In regards to OP not taking her aunt seriously... If someone lied to you many times, would you trust them? OP's aunt was an unreliable source of information about OP's lovers, so OP's only reliable source would've been herself, and she never mentions anything about feeling funny, indicating that Raul never put anything in her food or drink. Why Raul did that to OP's aunt and not her, I'm not sure, though it could've been due to her toxic behavior. Again, Raul's actions weren't justified, but you get the idea. With OP not talking straight, Mr. Reddito usually does his style, and stress could've impacted how OP thought. And being with a toxic aunt is VERY stressful. Lastly, for OP not knowing what was happening to her aunt, the aunt never took anything, so OP couldn't have known what the problem was. Not to mention that panic makes people not able to think clearly.
Both of the aunt and Raul done this on their own to me it was that aunt because she was just jealous type and Raul well he needs to be sent away to jail its his problem his own problem he needs to figure iut out of what he have done wrong at least the aunt have reflected on her actions.

As a medical professional I realize that you can’t help who you like but that relationship was against her code of conduct anyway. She dodged a huge problem sure but she wouldn’t have been in the position like this if she never got involved with a former patient so soon after he was discharged.
