    Story Summary :-
    Op's relationship with her mother-in-law (MIL) has been a rollercoaster ride from the beginning, with moments of conflict and rare agreement. Their opposite personalities usually clashed, but Op's steadfast love for her husband, James, gave a thin thread that held them together. However, things kept getting tough because Op's mother-in-law was nosy and didn’t like minding her own business. It was a relief that James usually took Op's side in all of the events caused by Op's mother-in-law, but they still happened and caused chaos.
    Things got worse when Op's mother-in-law came to stay at their house for a few months. Op and James refused to let her join the meeting of their family regarding financial issues, so she took matters into her own hands and deliberately poisoned them and got them sick. It didn’t just happen once; it happened twice. That’s when Op gathered evidence and confronted her about it.
    However, she refused to accept her mistake and only did so when James’ grandmother came in to help them. Op's mother-in-law acknowledged her mistake and apologized to them, never returning to stay at their house again.

    It’s a FELONY to intentionally poison someone. She should have been arrested as soon as they thought it happened and had proof. Ridiculous to accept an apology. Those who poison someone once will do it again. They are beyond narcissistic they are psychopaths

    It’s her sons house, not hers. She does not need to know everything that goes on. Kick her out please and show the evidence to the family before she can turn it around on you.

    All mothers need to get used to the fact their sons might want to get married, and that their mothers will not be the biggest thing in their lives. If someone tried to poison me once I would kick him out of my life twice I would get them arrested.

    the second they knew she poisoned them they should have called the cops, and threw her out of their house, forever...no maybe we can talk and she will apologize, under no circumstance is that normal or acceptable. The fact they let her stay, and this to continue is mind blowing and hardly believable.

  • @AutismTakesOn
    @AutismTakesOn 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +35

    I have to agree with the Reddit comments. Idk much about law, but I'd imagine that intentionally poisoning someone is highly illegal, and if so, OP and James should've pressed charges. I like how James and OP saw that Hannah was in the wrong, but I don't believe either of them ever realized the severity of it. I mean, had OP been pregnant, she easily could've miscarried, and if Hannah was willing to cause food poisoning, who's to say she wouldn't go further?
    If I were Destiny, I wouldn't seek an apology from Hannah. "Sorry" isn't NEARLY enough for what she did. I would've told James and OP to file a lawsuit and get every family member to write Hannah out of every will, because what she did wasn't just bad, it was downright criminal.

      She doesn't need to live with them to cause havoc in their lives. MIL has a few screws loose. I would still watch my back. She could pay someone else to cause harm since she obviously is crazy enough to hurt her own child. I still have doubts this is a real story, though. Who would allow this woman to stay with them even after a few of the things she did and especially after they knew she was poisoning them?

    Technically what MIL did was a felony. OP and her husband could have Hannah locked up for attempted murder. Sure she gave them a heavy dosage of stool softener, but even the side effects at such high dosage could cause eruptions within the digestive system leading to weak linings of tissues and foremost malnutrition causing body to begin breaking down. For Hannah to even consider doing this even just because of them not allowing be apart of household decisions is poor judgement. Also for her to demand grandchildren is very nervy. If they didn't get her a grandchild fast enough would she get involved in the process and what to do if not setting it all in place.

      This is often how the victims of Munchausen’s syndrome by proxy succumb. Their poisoner does this to get their fix of being Florence Nightingale, the victim gets sicker and sicker, the poisoner enjoys all of the attention they get from the victim and others, applauding what a good parent/carer they are, how selfless they are, how well they are managing the stress and pressure and eventually the vicious cycle bottoms out, the victim expires or gets to the stage of hospitalization, where somebody becomes suspicious.

    I wonder if the poisoning event had anything to do with the MIL’s obsession with becoming a grandma? If OP was on oral birth control, sometimes if something is given close enough after a woman takes her daily dose of birth control, it won’t be effective, because your stomach immediately evacuates its contents, due to the bout of diarrhoea and the pill will not be absorbed. Two birds with one stone? OP and Son are sick and she has to baby them and get her fix of being involved in their daily life AND OP might also get inadvertently pregnant, giving MIL the grand baby she wants.

    First of all why is your mother in law not in jail for attempted murder.
    If your mother-in-law wants to know everything that's going on in the house, I would explain to her, in detail, and as raunchy as possible, intimate details of what you do behind doors. See how she likes that; cause sometimes too much knowledge is not a good thing
