    Thank you so much for this video. I spent hours trying to figure out how to print with 2 colors from the Lotmaxx website and you tube channel and the information was very vague. You clarified everything in 17 minutes. Thank you again.

      Pro: Duel color was easy to use.
      Con: Proprietary firmware is a big turn off

    Had the same question that David Wilson asked. some auto code for that retraction of 10mm? Great content Thanks Chris !

      You could probably find some settings that would work. In the end gcode now it does a E-85 to make sure it is clear. If you got really good with it, you could find a setting that was perfect for the end and the restart.

    Great video thanks Chris, have you played around with the print volume? I hear you can increase it from 235² to 250² but I've not seen any confirmation of this...

      You will have to modify the 3D Touch bracket to use the full build volume, or not use it.
      I'm really enjoying the Shark, getting really nice prints but the firmware source not being available prevents me from recommending it.

    I've heard the Z could drop a fraction when you disable steppers. It would be nice to have the option to disable X/Y but not Z for 10:20

      That is supported in Marlin, but some boards won't allow it, like Creality boards.

      @@ChrisRiley Actually, the Creality boards tie only the X,Y and E together... their Z shouldn't be affected by an M84 XY for example... but not through the menu.

    Thanks for the video. I followed along and then got to the stepper driver and found it wasn't there. Damn it.
    For some reason when I merge two items in the software, it centers them both instead of side by side like yours does.

      THese do G1 F1200 E85 then G1 F1200 E-85.

    Problem: I added the software to my printer, but the option for a second extruder doesn't show on the Lotmaxx app machine settings. How do you get it?

      You need to update the config file like I show in the video. If not, lotmaxx will need to get you some new software.

    Will running that sensor ribbon under the extrusion cause an issue near Zmax?

    Just FYI, I was able to updated my printer configuration with only the Configuration file on the SD card, no other firmware files. Just make sure if you are doing it a second time to rename it back from OldConfiguration to Configuration.

      @@ChrisRiley Nope, none of the boards shipped to the kickstarter backers came with the stepper for the second extruder... Even those of us who bought the bi color kit.

      It would for sure, I am going to try it with Prusa Slicer it handles color way better.

    Is the filament change script editable or is it built into the slicer?

      As far as I can tell, you can't change it in Cura.

    Purge blocks are very wasteful,why cant we measure the volume of plastic remaining in the heatbreak and nozzle.and have this information entered into the printer firmware.the printer could then change colour in advance and use the remainder of filament until the new colour feeds through..to prevent colour bleed ,any small amount that remains in the nozzle could be used on the inner walls of the model for infill.

    Have had a dual printer for many years but think it is worthless as most prints I do are for useful projects and colour is never needed, just another thing to go wrong.

      One thing I potentially see as a gamechanger is using water soluble filament in one nozzle and PLA/other material as the other.
