      It's the same as any other at that price, with a BLTouch clone. We also have no idea if it indeed is better now, we can't really trust the review of it if it comes (I trust Joel, but that's simply a logical rule if you get paid for it) and the company is unknown to me so there is a risk with Kickstarter. Kickstarter is being used as an ad in this sense.

      @MMuraseofSandvich 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      (Disclaimer: I don't have either model) I would imagine that at a minimum you'd need an adapter plate and firmware/slicer support for the second extruder. If the controller board only supports 1 extruder, you'll need to upgrade to one that supports 2.

    I have a Lotmaxx SC-10. I've had it for about 3 months and aside from a clogged nozzle a few times its been running almost 24/7 with no issues and as far as I'm concerned great prints (I'm new to 3d printing). From opening box to first print was about 30 min. I would be more than willing to purchase the shark if it functions as well as the standard SC-10.

    My stock SC-10 has between 3000 and 4000 hours on it. It's just gone through a major fixing after the heated bed wire broke and started arcing which fried most of the power electronics, but now it seems to be working again. It looks like they didn't add any of the remedies to the vibration issues I sent them, hopefully the change to the steel under the build tac will make it blister less.
    If they didn't change the base geometry they could add a purge dump in front of the bed, that works far better than a purge tower. I'm kinda sad I didn't get one to test ...

    You can't even adjust the estepa because its not apart of the stock firmware. I literally had to email the company and the engineers had to send me a text file to flash the printer with. And everytime you want to adjust things you have to do additional flashes rather than having it on the lcd screen and doing it in real-time.

    Remove all the optional extras and what are you left with? An Ender 3 with a slightly bigger build volume, color display, and some silent stepper drivers. These are all nice to see but machines that aim to be a jack of all trades are typically a master of none. I would rather have a separate machine for laser engraving. The idea of having to switch out my tooling and calibrating every time would be a huge hassle. The biggest issue here is support though, especially for those new to 3D printing. If you order a printer off AliExpress or a similar site you're on your own if anything goes wrong. With more popular printers there are community based resources and a ton of videos on TH-cam that will get you sorted out in no time. Joel, I wish you the best of luck but in a market that is already flooded with options I'm not sure how it will go.

    Hey @3DprintingNerd, #1 I enjoy your videos! #2 You mentioned something I never thought about; I've been in validation, quality, & test engineering (developer & dft roles as well) roles for almost 10 years now. Do you have to be a content creator to be a temporary contract tester? I have a full time role currently, but I figured it might be a nice side gig (plus I love 3d printers).
    Do you have any suggestions about reaching out about this? I can provide my LinkedIn & resume.

    Hi Joel, pretty cool you are so involved in this machine. I saw you looked at the 3D Chameleon at the maker fair a while back. Looks like a great product. Did you do any reviews of the product. I just purchased one, I hope it wasn't a mistake. Strange but there are no reviews of it on YT I could find, the only videos are from the guy(s) that are making it.

    Joel, YOUR AWESOME!!! I always watch till the end helps you out. My wife taught me that since she is trying to get her Keto youtube channel going. I do have a question for you sir. Is it dual z or single? I have looked at all the pictures I could find of it and could not tell. If not can you make the suggestion to have an upgrade kit to make it so? I am waiting on the kickstarter to kick I guess. :) Thank you for the awesome over view and helping with the development of a new 3d printer.

  • @IraQNid
    @IraQNid 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice how you got some consulting work out of this. I recall that you refused to review the laser etching/burning features of other similarly equipped Chinese made 3D printers citing safety as a primary reason. There should be a shroud over the machine when the laser attachment is in use. Plus wear the protective glasses. Hell you don't even need to see the laser itself if you have a remote camera inside the windowless enclosure to show the progress.
    Does this mean you'll go back to those models for an update on the laser or engraver side of things?
