Hi everyone! Yes, I know I said smoked chicken thighs… I misspoke. These are in fact smoked Turkey thighs. Enjoy this recipe and stay tuned for more 😊
Bro the fact you took your time to come to the comments and admit you was wrong was 🐐🐐🐐you are by far one of the best cooks on TH-cam ! Keep being a star fellow black man 🫡
Lol. I was about to try turkey necks or something. Not chicken. Lol. 😂😂😂 Good, you clarified it. Because the comments are coming. Lol. 😂😂😂😂😂
And try making them next time with 3 or 4 jalapeños. Add about 30 mis before they are done. Just take them out before you feed them to everybody.... I saw the hot sauce. Them jalapeños in there will change your life. Lol
Can you please do a southern dressing recipe
Whether you misspoke Iit looks mouthwatering!!!
Thank you for reminding ppl to wash the collards extremely well. Your greens look delicious!!
Cleaniness is next to godliness
Yummy yummy yummy 😋😋😳😳🥺👌👌
Right, I even put a drop of soap in my first wash. Call me crazy.
@@tamiqueaspencer3719not crazy I do that too with my fruits and veggies ❤
👍😄
They don't KNOW about that POT LIQUOR......... FACTSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
I sure do!!😂
Oh yes we do with some corn bread for soppin aka dipping !
My grandma and great grandma use to give that to the babies with cornbread. And by babies I mean, babies that are able to eat baby food
I sure do, my favorite
Baby Please! A piece of cornbread crumbled up, preferably get the corner where the butter settles. PRAISE DANCE!😂😂😂
I remember growing up everyone in my family cooked their greens in some sort of smoked pork meat. Seems that once I got older, most people I knew ate less pork. So when I finally decided to cook greens, I cooked them in smoked turkey and they tasted amazing! So, one day I cooked some for a dinner and gave my grandmother a taste while they were nearing the end of the cook. She told me that my greens were dry due to turkey meat not having a lot of fat and instructed me to add a little veg. oil into them. Can you say it was a game changer. The oil made the texture amazing!! That was over 15 years ago and I have used a little oil with my greens ever since. RIP Granny.
Good tip! Thanks for sharing. Aw RIP Granny🙏🏽
My Nana always used smoked neck bones..and I ask if I can get the smoked neckbones.tastes amazing
That pot of greens looks great . I can taste them . By the way , where's the corn bread ? 😂👍🏼 Great Job !!!!
Smoked turkey tails are better. The meat has fat in it and tastes similarly to pork. When they fall apart just remove the gristle.
Yo greens look good my boyy i cut mine a little thinner but I might have to give u thumbs down bcus i don't see any cornbread on the stove😅😅
Am I the only one here drooling over this dish?!! My man can cook!🤤🤤🤤
My mouth is watering but collards greens are on the way.👩🏾🌾🥬🌶🫑
Yes he can lol.
he can cook
Yes drooling and about to go get me some now. ..yum yum
You can do it too. Try it with one bunch of collards. That will be enough for you. You can use smoke turkey, smoke turkey necks, or smoke turkey tails. Season the meat like he did. You can also add chopped onions and chopped garlic. Very baby go do it.
I follow my mom's recipe with a trio of collards, mustard, and turnip greens...a delicious balance!
Yes that is very good, I add spinach and kale to mine as well
Sounds delicious!
You know what you talking about. People sleep on them mustard and turnip greens. And them turnip butts. For some reason people act like collars, kale, and spinach are the only greens
I also add Kale greens👍🏽
🤜🤛🏾
Makes collard greens just like grandma taught us ❤❤❤❤
Wow!!! add those greens to that bomb macaroni and cheese you made, along with some of your party wings- 😋😋😋😋it’s a wrap!!!
I'm eating the greens with Mac n ribs n potato salad tonight lol
Love the destemming and washing technique.
The simplest of the soul food that everyone makes completely differentm. So cool learning everyone's way they do
Im watch this thinking ..."man Its been a minute since Ive had some good greens".
Thanks for blessing bro.
You're right on point with the cleaning process. Right on brother!
I love the way you slide the greens off the stem thank you I needed this tip
It's awesome. I smoke the legs, thighs, and wings. I use them in my pinto beans and collards. I just picked collards again last Sunday. They love cold weather. This looks yummy. Merry Christmas.✝️
I don't know why you're not on one of these cooking channels!! Cooking channel or food network? You would be awesome and people would love your recipes. I know I do
I believe I seen him on a netflix cooking show
He needs to do a recipe book on all of his delicious looking recipes😋
This is the problem with you ppl. Yal never respect the process. This is his fucking show. More ppl probably watch him then the food network. Why does he have to be a part of some conglomerate just to show that "he made it". Support black men by congratulating where we are at instead of always having some ideas for what we're supposed to ...WHEN U HAVE NO INPUT.
@@truecullurz8o8he does he has one with Ms Jimmy and the other guy Mr make it happen
@@eliteleveliq4289relax 😂
Yes a men that can. Cook❤
SIR!!!❤❤❤❤ This is true collard greens right here!
Yummy yummy 😋🤤😳😊
Yes! I like to add some hot sauce, apple cider vinegar when they're on my plate, &/or hot pepper 🌶 vinegar! 😋
I know your mother and grandmother are very proud of you. Watching them cook. You understood the assignment
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Know you can tell, That's Grandma Baby!!!💚💚💚💚💚💚
How can u tell
@@Sherica_ oh so y'all kinfolks?

ABSOLUTELY,,,,OLE SCHOOL GRANDMA,,,FOR REAL!!!!🤎🤎🤎
@onestopchop I USED YOUR RECIPE TODAY! Pot still working its magic! Never cooked collards before so praying it turns out AMAZING! I will let yall know😂😂🙏🏾🙏🏾🤞🏾
Can you do a Sweet Potato Pie recipe, please😉
🙏🏼🥺
I agree. PLEASE DO A SWEET POTATO PIE RECIPE 🙏🏾
I had to leave a comment! In my family, everyone volunteers me to make the collard greens since my mama passed a few years ago. But since your video, I have been adding the hot sauce and worcestershire sauce in with your standard seasonings and it is a game changer!
I have made these greens 3 times in 2 months and my family didn't think my greens could get better. Thank you!!!
When you said smoked chicken thigh, I thought to myself-Wow that’s a big azz chicken! Lol I had to rewind it to watch it again! Excellent video! You are the man of the year!❣️
So did I 😂😂😂
Fr😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤪
Yep!
Agreed lol
Yoooo, I made this for Thanksgiving, and it was FIRE! SUPER easy too!
We’re coming over ur house for Thanksgiving and Christmas ❤❤❤
I made these for my family and everyone said it was the best collard greens they've ever had! Thanks for sharing!
Never used a smoked turkey thigh in my greens before. They don’t sell them near me. Delicious looking. 🔥😊
I haven't either. You can use smoked turkey necks, smoked turkey legs, or wings.
I'm calling the law. Dude drive by steal those greens keep on walking. Just saying
I forgot that I add banana peppers and some of the juice, and onions
Kale? Is it good? Never thought about adding kale.
@@antoinette9074 yes it is my stepfather always cooked mixed greens and he would always put a little bit of extra kale greens in it. I don't like collard greens by it self.
@@angerleanhammond1143 Thank you. Have a Blessed Thanksgiving.
Kale is slamming, red and green. Mixed with other greens, delicious 😋
Few things: don’t forget to add a little cider vinegar when cooking greens (any kind), a little sugar, and your other seasonings…. You don’t HAVE to do these things but it’s traditional in the deep southern states
Absolutely my favorite greens, I make them with smoked ham hocks. 👌👍
That’s how I just made mine Sunday
@@tamiqueaspencer3719 I’m betting they came out fantastic, I get my hocks from an Amish market, they’re huge and full of meat, with tons of flavor. My daughter in law taught me how to make them, she’s an experienced southern cook. She makes turnip and mustard greens as well, hard to beat a nice bowl of greens.
No ham or pork it's better with turkey and healthier
@@yvonneedenfield5446 Opinions are like butt holes, everyone has one, you’re entitled to yours, ham hocks make the best tasting greens, PERIOD! Turkey greens taste like nothing.
😂
I grew my own greens this year for the first time. Took 5 months to harvest and have eaten from them 3 times. No meat with mine. Vegan style greens seasoned to perfection.
How do you season them.
I made them without meat before and I put a little olive oil ,butter, different color peppers, onions, garlic n onion powder and a sprinkle of bullion and they were delicious
Hello , what seasonings did you use ?
There's an Ethiopian recipe for vegan collards that is delish! 😊. I ate them in their restaurant 😋
Those are the prettiest collard greens. They look so fresh and you cleaned them good.😊
Some corn bread & greens..get down 👇🧨😊
May I please have a bowl of those green, with a triangle of fresh cornbread, AND a glass of sweet iced tea?
If you say "NO"...remember...I said "please".
Now that's how you do it up right. My grandma always threw in some sugar to take away the bitterness of the greens and made a cake of cornbread on the side....ain't nothin' better than that! Great video!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 not bae leaves and extra seasonings.... 😂😂😂 I can barely catch my breath.. Awwww, oh bless your heart... Long as you didn't put southern on here we're good. Because ain't no way in the absolute hell we use that shit in greens😂 looks fun tho.... Lol bay leaves..... It's a few that use turkey but we use neckbones or hammocks. Turkey when u can't find nothing else and throw in a lil okra when u get close to done onions are optional 😂😂😂😂😂😭😭😭.... Fuckin bay leaves, how cute lol I'm tickled pink
Looks great, could use a splash of red or apple cider vinegar though!
Yes! I add a splash towards the end
Holidays? I’m making this today.
That looks delicious yum 😋
Where the heck u found turkey thigh‼️‼️‼️‼️
Sauté onion and garlic as well.
Nooo I've never seen onions in greens
Welcome to down south
@@rondas7772if you’re cutting and sautéing them right you shouldn’t see onions lol
Good Looking and Can Cook Lets Get Married ❤
I am a grandmother and this is how I've been cooking my collards for many, many years. Love to hit mine with Frank's Hot Sauce!
Go get a restaurant that I can come too..please
Finally, a cook that removes the stems!! Yeeessssss
..who’s leaving em on?…
Aren't stems filled with nutrients and isn't the bitterness great for digestion?
I actually love the stems but they need to be added to the pot before the actual greens are added in. They need to cook about 15-20 minutes before the greens are added.
I also add a lil vinegar into my smoked meat broth and the stems soak up all that juicy goodness!
Delicious!
Alright now 😊get the corn 🌽 bread ready 😊6-13-2024-6:54am♥️Looks delicious 😋
Hi there. I use smoke turkey meat for all my soups, greens, and wat ever needs that taste to bring it all together great stuff. You keep on with your love for food, and keep on giving the love you give us. It takes a good life time to achieve how you cook to get to know your products, and food to make your taste buds sing loud, and clear, and you are young, and all ready a master at your crafting food. 👏🏿👏🏾👏🏽👏🏼👏🏻👏 Let the taste buds sing.... ☺️
Umm, ummm, this dish is good ALL the time
That's exactly how I make mine! I just added vinegar while I cook them with a pinch of sugar to take the grit out... Yummy 😋
Oh man, I love collard greens, and those look awesome
Where da vinegar at?
I'm going to use that saying "That Pot Liquor "
LOOKS GOOD I USED SMOKED HAM HOCKS
Chicken thigh!!? That looks like an ostrich thigh. What are yall feeding your food in America 😂😂. All love.
Thank you sir...heading to my mom's house now to pickup smoked turkey. I think I might add 1/4 cup of ACV just for a lil tartness. Thank you 🫶🏽
Vinegar is a must in greens! Go for it! 😊
@@camdenbeliever856Sho you right
I put a little mustard and garlic in mine too.....somebody from Florida taught me that.
I add vinegar to my bowl.
I use to eat my greens on top of rice now I eat by themselves with vinegar in a bowl hot sauce optional.
You are a old soul from Heaven That’s some grandma Green you are killing IT!! Wow yummy and Delicious Greens ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️

Five…he came back with Turnip greens. I HATE TURNIP GREENS ( Im crying) 😢😢😢
No vinegar, no sugar, no jalapeño… I’ll pass but it looks beautiful.
Lol you said a smoked chicken thigh in the beginning. I was thinking “that’s a big chicken.” But at the end you said turkey.
That's exactly how I do it but I wash the greens with water and distilled vinegar other than that spot on
❤❤❤ Love You 😘
I need for you to marry my daughter. I need a good cook in the family😂 keep moving forward-upward young man.
Where’s the recipe
This is the way to make your Collard greens from scratch. I grew up watching my grandma and mom make everything from scratch not all this can stuff
I LOVE collard greens!! I could eat that whole bowl! And I'm glad you wash them correctly, and not in a bath tub like a certain VP claimed!😂
That looks so delicious, and I remember when my Mom taught us to cook the greens with fat back. however, the smoked Turkey is healthier. God Bless. ❤❤
I’m assuming that was a mix up. Looked like he did in fact use the turkey thigh.
Hold up na, News flash chico! That is NOT a chicken thigh. that's what we black folk like to call a smoked turkey thigh.
Looks good, though.
Can't wait 4 the next vid of you cookin chicken wings while holding up frog blatters!
Hey my man, why didn't you wash those in the bathtub?
New hit song
🎉🎉🎉"Collard greens in the bathtub " by Muzik Nest🎉🎉
Simple is tastey! I knew it was a turkey thigh......ain't no chicken THAT big! Lol!
Been making my collards with smoked turkey wings or drummets for years. Scrumdilliumptious.
Hello I'm getting ready for work plus I seen your video of cleaning greens you just came up with a good idea to wash greens off with baking soda plus your greens looks good from Regina from L k 😂😂😂🤣😁 have a blessed holiday 2024
YES! This is how you cook greens! I use chicken broth to add flavor to all kinds of things. Why use tasteless water?
+100 DKP for that tip about washing the greens and your stripping technique is pure Vegas, baby!
Teach Kamala Harris your method because she washes greens in the bathtub. I think she was trying to impress black folks with cooking greens. Evidently she was not around us too much. 🥰
Brother, are you always doing these videos of making me hungry! I put on 50 pounds because of jambalaya recipe no I’m sorry it was the gumbo. Keep doing what you doing.
booooooy you fye 🔥i was just talking shit about you washing them greens. then watch the whole thing. you do this shit foreal where you from GEORGIA?
Everything looks good ! Although, I would use crush peppers 🌶️ & I would drain off most the juice when greens are done & tender add extra virgin olive oil and let it simmer some more. Yummy 😋
Wash and rinse until the water is clear. Typically, the leaves are checked for worms, before cutting up, washing and rinsing.
Turkey I can’t do. After finding out how they kill Turkey. Ever wonder why people sleep after eating Turkey 😂 goggle it.
Otherwise, you are a great Cook 🙂🙂🙂
I need a video with mustard and turnip greens ((mixed). They're my favorite and taste much better than collards.😢
So when would you like to become my personal chef😌?? Just a few days out the week!
Thank you for the clarification. I'm subscribing to you. 😅
Kamala said you supposed to wash in the tub and add bacon not turkey 😂😂
I’m preparing these right now .Using Kale green instead of collard. Can’t wait .
Dang, those greens sure look good. "You" sure wouldn't last "one minute" being single out there in the real world.?(Just Saying).?
I will definitely try your recipe looks amazing ❤❤😂😂😂
Just ate the best greens of my life yesterday and now I’m up at 5am watching TH-cam videos how to make them 😂😂
Befor y out that heat try to put sum sweet in them greens. Suger half cup or 2 cup depends on u. In side the pit let cook with the fatback n ham hokes. And find love I promise u. It’s. A test that is amazing. Be blessed.
All I know is that I'm coming to your house this Thanksgiving 😄🍽️
