as a request for you and many other people who make these videos, please balance the audio clips of the runners screaming. i like to watch these videos at night or as i go to bed and the giant changes in audio level make it hard to listen to your low voice.
The interviews were crazy good and made this feel like a documentary. They provided a feeling of emotion and reasoning behind what you all did to push the game to its limit. Instead of just seeing the new record number. But learning the new tricks that lower the record is also very important.
You're shocked by that. Turns out in the star wars games, outside of button press, swinging the lightsaber can be controlled by swinging the wiimote. Literally learned this when I hooked up my old wii to play one of em again.
Whenever I play an older Tt games Lego video game, it just feels like they really cared about their work and what they where making you know? I feel like I’m playing a game that was made with passion and care, which is something you rarely feel nowadays with almost all games being made solely with profit in mind. I feel this way about many older games but the Lego games have a level of uniqueness that can’t be touched, and I will always love them for that.
One of my favorite lego games here it was just so cool to me as a kid I still love the lego games there just so well made even if they glitch sometimes it's some of my favorite memories I have
This is a great video! It follows summoning salts style very well while still being unique and different, and i look forwards to what you do in the future
This is a great video! I really hope that the algorithm is nice to your channel and gets this content out to more people. In my opinion you emulated a summoningsalt type timeline video perfectly, and I was incredibly interested the whole time. definitely made me want to try out some of the easier tricks myself lmao. Keep up the great work!
alkamaass (the one who got 2:07:15 as a WR) here, so much nostalgia speedrunning this, I was able to beat prnced for a bit by just finding a bunch of new strats and also OOB stuff, I remember terming item duplication as drop duping and pickup duping, I was the one who discovered I think drop or pickup duping, crazy how low the record is now, I guess Wii was actually bad but it had the most tech/skips at the time so what's why we used it then
Well made video i was clueless of the pure beginning of this speedrun category, so thanks for clearing up information. I also found the Hill clip at 46:32 :)
this is such a well researched, structured and professional video on something i never knew i needed to know. was just replaying the game this week. so so cool - awesome work!
an improvement on your batman one imo, less caught up in the play by play of every single world record, and more concerned with the development of the speedrun and the longer term trends, nice work!
I definitely remember being blown away by out-of-bounds/under the floor skips in 2009-2010 on TH-cam. The one at 25:29 specifically. But I don’t know if they were used for speedruns yet.
This video is great. I watched Summoning Salt's Lego Star Wars vid and it inspired me to replay this game. I just 100% completed it today and went on TH-cam to find this uploaded 2 days ago.
27:26 its basically something that you can do if you don t want to wasting your live time for openning the gate even when you are just playing the game casually
my first time seeing this channel but really enjoyed this great video well put together and structured, entertaining and insightful commentary and cool game
These lego games are not flawless, but god lord are they pristine gemstones in front of LEGO The Hobbit *shivers in every quick time event causing a game breaking bug, and being a literally unfinished game*
I remember doing these glitches as a kid on the wii version, I would always use the high jump to skip sections but I never thought you were never supposed to do it, I guess the wii version was just crazy like that.
I appreciate the citing of Gamago's OOB video, but I wish it was linked or the title was given. If I want to watch it, I have to search up their channel manually and look through their videos, or guess at the video's title (which should be pretty easy to do, admittedly, but I assumed you'd have linked it in the description or a comment or something given the framing within the video).
44:20 I'd say the reason it works would be because the game would check every frame whether the player character's collision is intersecting with the wall and pushes you back from the wall enough that it no longer intesects, but when you alt tab to create lag there's a much longer gap between frames and the character movement speed is independent of framerate and the player character's colider ends up more on the out of bounds side of the wall (or the centerpoint of the colider is beyond the wall's collision) when the collision is calculated it still pushes you away from the wall but now that the player characer's colider is more on the out of bounds side so the game pushes you out of bounds rather than in bounds. not a dev but it interests me so I look up alot of stuff, if I'm wrong about this you can reply and let me know.
First game I looked for bugs in. Well of souls skip and trouble in the sky cutscene trigger are the best things I found I think. Didn’t really find well of souls though, only proved it was possible with an out of bounds
At 9:12 you can see the graph has lines for 180 190 which wouldn’t be included in measuring time. I think that’s why later on the line moves in such a steep angle when only improving by a few minutes. Otherwise another great video
my memories of these games must be on point, my favorite thing to do was perform a glitch that turned you into a plane and flew you into space until the game crashed, it would brick your wii for an entire day once achieved. if anyone knows how to perform this glitch PLEASE lmk as the last time i dusted the wii off i could not remember the entire sequence of glitches needed. it was on the same level as the well knows flying bus glitch (lost ark? i think) you could use a second player near the seaplane and a series of very rapid character switching and disconnecting while mounting the seaplane to trick the game into becoming the plane. after becoming the plane you loose any input and fly out of the skybox to space until the console detonates!
@@bd1p Thanks for the response, I'm really glad for that, I will check this program out, this is sick. And I Love this and lego batman history video, really good work!
rose tinted glasses? no i remember raging at these games as a kid due to bullshit, but i still had vastly more fun playing then than i do any game now. it's not just nostalgia. older games were simply better...
Hey, so when I was a child, I played the PS2 version of this game and got a glitch to trigger where my character would become headless and somehow have a costume that could not be found anywhere else, he could also do every single character specific thing, like going through the short character doors, talking to the statues and, because he had a whip, he could do all of Indi's things too. But he would do all of these actions with no animations, just phasing through the doors and floating with the whip. Has anybody figured out how to activate that glitch intentionally?
@@ShadydoesitI was messing around with the custom character creator, then I went into the 3rd level in raiders and my character looked like Fedora from young Indy, but not exactly, and I had Indy's whip and Fedora's pistol, and I could enter the short character doors, in which he phased through the door with no animation. Also, afterwards, a separate glitch happened which forced every single character to have enemy guard hats, including custom characters, meaning everybody could access guard doors by default. (I was actually really annoyed by that as a child because I wanted my custom character to have a different hat)
I’m not trying to be that guy, but I’m sure a lot of people accidentally found the level skip. When I played it on the 360 as a kid in the early 2000s I triggered it accidentally while looking for studs.
Thanks for watching! If you enjoyed this video, you may enjoy my last LEGO speedrun analysis of LEGO: Batman: th-cam.com/video/w5LOCIXx2jI/w-d-xo.html

I will beat it. Prolly not today or tmrw. But I will try my damndest to do so. If the record is reasonable ofc. Just repetition and muscle memory.
Great video. Thanks for having us on for the interview!
this probably won’t be the last WR history you’re a part of LOL
The interviews were crazy good and made this feel like a documentary.
They provided a feeling of emotion and reasoning behind what you all did to push the game to its limit. Instead of just seeing the new record number. But learning the new tricks that lower the record is also very important.
"You can shake the Wiimote to speed up the process of certain actions like building objects"
YOU CAN WHAT?!?!!!
You're shocked by that. Turns out in the star wars games, outside of button press, swinging the lightsaber can be controlled by swinging the wiimote. Literally learned this when I hooked up my old wii to play one of em again.
I always knew that, but when I think of it, I think it was only mentioned in the instruction manuals, never in game
I like Lego games, not even because of nostalgia, but because they’re fun and relaxing

Yo, another awesome video! Can't wait to see the next one 👀
Ain’t no way

17:40 "Ladies (and Robin and Nightwing) are more nimble and can jump higher"
Wait what the fuck xD why is this in the Indiana Jones game
I restarted it like a couple of weeks ago. In less than 20 hours I’m almost 100%. I love that game, along with the first lego batman
I love your videos! Keep up the good work, man
I've been waiting for this one
Haven't even watched the video yet and already know this is gonna be a banger. Love the content bd1p!
I played lego indiana jones so much as a kid but I don't remember there being a giant snake boss fight
I remember playing lego games on my ps2!
Another person doing a good job at the whole nostalgia talk. Regardless how I think of the video, it's still good.
thanks of this video i found my new new FAVOURITE games
Summoning Salt would be proud
awesome
lego indiana jones was always my fav legogame
played them on my ps3
more, more summoning salt style videos! Please, they are the best videos on youtube
Summoning salt himself needs to cover it.
Thank you for not making a Summoning Salt joke
I'm very proud of you
My childhood nostalgia game is Lord of The Rings: Return of The King on PS2 and Spyro: A Heroes Tail (also on PS2)
Chimkin is highly known for going far in speed running games and I’m happy to hear him running around still
Good vid. The game itself is hella underrated
First Summoning Salt with LEGO Star Wars and now bd1p with Indiana Jones. Fan-tas-tic!
CONGRATULATIONS ON 100KK

I grew up playing Lego games on my ds when I was a kid lmfao

yeah, it’s called brickbench but it only works for TCS and LIJ currently
