I swear 3000gt and nissan 300zx are the hardest cars to work on there is just no space. But once all the work is done they are some of the best looking cars to ever hit the road
@tylercooper1058 no never got to work on one of the newer one just a old one from the early 80s I think and was eay cause the engine was small but I'm sure you are talking about a newer one
Going to be the newest 3000gt on the block by the time you get done. It takes me forever to do things on mine because i want to fix everything as i go 😊
Awesome job buddy. Cant wait to see the finished product. Ive gotta order mine soon, along with the intake manifold Michael barnhart makes so we dont have to remove the intake every time we get a tune up😂.
On the turbo oil return lines the washers on those bolts are actually gaskets you should replace every time too. The oil will actually come through the threads and then out from under the bolt if those gaskets aren't fresh. Sometimes I even put a tiny dab of rtv on the threads of the bolt because their such a pain to get to seal perfectly.
Yeah honestly I don't understand why they sell them separately. It should come as a kit because no one would ever need one without the other and they're so cheap.
Another great video Migue , but there is no need to remove the fronr axles to remove the pan but i get it yoi did it the rubbers were junk. keep doing what you 😊
It sounds like you've never worked on a 3/S lol. I bought a new coil pack and PTU for mine and you can see them easily with the hood open and you still have to remove a ton of stuff just to swap them out. It's in the running with the rx7 and 300zx for most difficult car to work on ever made lol.
hey miguel! i found my self on your page about a year ago maybe 6 months ago when i was looking up a tutorial to do something on my 1st gen 3000gt (can’t remember which thing it was as i have had to look up a lot😂) recently my head gasket blew and i put a rod through the block all at the same time. idk if i should rebuild the engine or swap a new one in, it’s a SL so NA DOHC v6
Hey Miguel. Just want to ask, how do you manage to get 6g72 spareparts? (Alternator, A/C compressor). Is transverse 6g72 part interchangeable with longitudinal 6g72 or any other 6g family engine? Appreciate you might give answer as the spareparts hard to find
i ran into a guy at a car show in the UK he said he supplied you with some parts for your evo swap his name is bobby gould he makes performance parts for the eclipse
ah hell. Ive re-done mine's oil pan 3 fing times and it continues to leak at the rear main housing. had the transmission out 4 times and the oil pan off 4 times at this point trying to solve this issue. And the biggest reason I haven't made much content atm. It's litterally undriveable. Right now i had the trans out and waiting for the rear main seal and retainer to arrive before i yank off the oil pan. God i hope you don't have the issues i'm having with the oil pan i'm having. Fing INFURIATING !
@@MiguelDsm yea its bad like just running for like a couple minutes leaves a like 8in diameter puddle of oil under the engine. Would probably be out of oil in like 10 miles.
Hey man, got a question for you since your a Mitsu expert. I’ve got a 94 SL, full twin scroll custom single turbo setup(not vr4 swapped) everything is custom, fully forged internals. It’s running a stock ECU with an older piggyback standalone at 6psi. I want to shoot for more but need a full ECU. All I can find are ECUs for a vr4. If you know anywhere that makes ECUs for the non turbo models, or know anyone who might let me know, thanks again.
Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if you can get away with a chromed ecu. If the plugs are the same it's pretty tune-able. Also it depends on what sensors you're using. If you're using all mitsu sensors then the chromed route might make sense. If you're using all custom sensors a full stand alone is probably your best bet. The main sensors you'd want to have oem for the chromed ecu would be the maf and the o2 sensor.
Get your Mitsubishi Hub shirt here: racelegacy.com/shop/t-shirt/mitsubishi-hub-shirt/
I actually just ordered the built not bought shirt, can't wait to Rock it.
I appreciate it man! Hope you like it
So true we need more videos on everything 3000 not a lot out there. I have a 93 no engine yet but I will get there.
It’s an overlooked platform sadly. Just happy to be able to document and upload my tutorials for the 3S peeps
I swear 3000gt and nissan 300zx are the hardest cars to work on there is just no space. But once all the work is done they are some of the best looking cars to ever hit the road
Hoping the 3000 is all set after this. Tired of having it sit and not be able to drive it
@@MiguelDsm me to because I love hearing and seeing that monster on the road
Have you tried working on a mini Cooper s haha. But for real the 3s is a pain.

Someone had mentioned that after I had them installed as well

This was so excited and awesome to see
I agree with you 💯 about the Supra
We are few that stand with the 3000gt haha
You don't need to remove the acxles to get to the oil pan unless you wanted to reboot them.
Kool nice removal & install oil pan for Mistusbhi 300GT how-to video plus more easier to do with lift aswell.
Lift makes it 10x easier. Not an easy task overall though
Mitsubishi is the best, my favorite is the 1999 eclipse gsx😀😎🤘
Same thoughts 🤙🏼

Yep, they were long overdue so I did it while It was under the knife. Thanks for watching! 🤙🏼
Wow so many parts have to get removed just to get to the oil pan. lol
That’s what I’m saying! 😅

I totally agree with you, 3000gt is way better than overrated/hyped supra.

will this be the same on a 94 dodge stealth? thanks
Yes
do you have video of the exhaust cut out ?

I gotta get one of these pans for my car. Cheap insurance
300$ insurance 👌🏼

What parts? I don’t recall
Seems like a headache for sure! How much time do you have into removing everything?
Took me all day with some help from Aaron from the shop. If I had a this video to watch before hand, maybe 4-6 hours?
Glad my oil pan is not dented
Keep it safe lol
Pretty much the same as the awd dsm, undo the t-case dp and Axle
Yup. Except the dsm comes with more room
I agree with your opinion on the Supra. Too overhyped, drove the price through the roof. I'd rather have a 3000gt.
At least the 3000gts are still affordable. It’s only a matter of time before all these 90s legends are only for the people with money
Looks a milkshake (coolant and oil) in your oil pan.
0:01 IS THAT A SUPRA!!!
It’s a Mitsubishi Eclipse 👀
@Miguel Dsm OH, that must be the brand new Eclipse Cross then... Good to know. 😆

Ok that doesn’t sound right. Your pan might be warped and leaking somewhere

Might just have to go universal
You best bet is to go with a stand-alone Ecu with a build like that

@ The Asian try getting an ECM Link ECU. They're Mitsubishi specialists.
thats a lot of work to change oil pan
Yup..
Sucks to remove the down pipe. I give up on this job. This job sucks.
Not easy
metal shavings? news?
Very minimal. We’re good
I hope you're gonna clean all that before you put it back on lol
