I wished there was a video all about the transmission itself and all of the gears. How they all come apart and go back together again. Including the casings around them.
Awesome. Bursted my pressure plate and now I’m realizing I’m going to need to replace more than I thought…slave cylinder boot was full of fluid. Very educational video; makes it seem much more simple.
Superb video, thankyou for sharing that knowledge so thoroughly. Ive jsut had a 6 speed box rebuilt and a new Exedy clutch fitted, it feels way better but it crunches into second, unless I hold the clutch down for a little longer and pause before selecting the gear. I have a few places to start looking now, thank you! I am really hoping it is an adjustment or leaking slave or master cylinder rather than an issue with the rebuilt box.
No. You can very carefully drive a pick, small screwdriver into it (make sure you don't scratch shaft or housing) and pry it out. The trans has to be out to do it. Even if you got the seal out with the trans in the car the teeth of the flywheel would prevent you from being able to slide it off.
I don't have the IDBN number but it is the 1992-1996 Body - Chassis Service manual for the 3000gt. All of the OEM manuals are available for free on 3sx. www.3sx.com/tech-manuals-service-technical-reference. Page 545 of Volume 1 is the page I was looking at.
Really nice video. I will send it to the mechanic how put a new clutch on my 3000 GT VR4 1992. He replace my clutch but now after warming up the engine the clutch starts to be noise. Per happens if you get any suggestions it will be very appreciated!
The TOB in my 93 vr4 makes a light chirping/squeel sound at idle. If I push in the clutch it goes away. Its been doing it for over a year now. Eventually I'm going to replace it but I've been holding off as I may just refreshen everything up seeing as its nearing 160k.
Most clutches go to the floor to shift. Just go to a flat surface, take ebrake off and make sure car doesn't want to roll. Then put it in first gear, push clutch to the floor and rev it to 7k. Does the car want to creep forward? If so its dragging and you need to adjust something.

I'd probably watch it too:) Maybe Chris from Revenge will do it

Very informative learnt 3 interesting things from this video that I will be checking. Thankyou for putting this up.
Can you please do a video on replacing crunchy synchro in the vr4 trans and your thoughts on rebuilding it?
Thanks for the great video hard to find info on these cars .. I wanna know where did you get that book bc I want one
You're a legend for making this. Getting to this point on my build soon. When you replace that output shaft seal do you remove the bellhousing?

Same here just put a Centric master an slave on mine, feeling pretty tight.
What book are you using for the technical stuff?
Nice video! You have already win a new subscriber 👍 What is the name or the ISBN of the book you are checking?

Did only the Vr4 3000gt have a hydraulic clutch or did the Sl also have it?

When you have a failed throw out bearing, did it make like a really loud squeal and like a weird sound when idling?

Is it normal on the 3000gt to have to push the clutch pedal absolutely all the way down to the floor to shift?

HOW DO YOU TAKE OUT THE SELECT LEVER SHOE???
You have to unbolt the bracket the linkage pivots on. 2x 12mm bolts if I recall.
What Wheels are those? And Size
They are 18x9 +40mm offset enkei rp03s. I think they are discontinued now.
