2:02 - For me Reflected Shadows ON + Reflection Quality Ultra/Ultra+ makes the FPS go down when moving (only when moving) and game starts stuttering but on High and below it doesn't do this anymore, at least it was the case on previous version (1.0), now on 1.1 it does this even with the setting on High and below.
Can you examine the performance impact of these different settings during an active horde night which has the 64 zombie setting? Showing performance during an active horde night is when performance is most important and you might see different results.
I didn’t test it with a chemistry bench, but I did cover that setting further in the video. My recommendation is to leave it at 0%, as having a lot of workstations can seriously tank your FPS.
Man, my computers like older than 10 years, was a good one at the time and not many issues with games i play other than 7 days, but then it's like the newest game i play. I'll try this cause atm im stuck in a marketplace poi in the wasteland. Serious lagging problems
i'm getting a solid 120 fps for 90% of the time but for some reason when zombies (even just a couple) lock onto me i get stuttering. then i kill the zombies and right back to 120 fps. is this a known issue for zombie AI or is something wrong? thank you in advance for any wisdom you may offer.
I’m not sure about the optimal settings for every setup, but the goal of this guide is to help you figure out what works best for you. With 7 Days to Die, you’ll need to finetune your own settings to see what works. My advice is to go into a tier 5 POI while fine-tuning since those areas are the toughest on your GPU and your PC overall. It’s a good way to stress-test your setup.
Shadow is the greatest performance killer?? For me its the texture quality the fact i get 55-45 stable fps when all the settings are at med but jumps to 20-25 when textures are set to full ( i have gtx 1650 btw)
@@TheFPSTester nope, thats not the case, when i turn on the game on ogl ((open gl) i think its called like this) its unlocked but it comes with freezes when movin
its called glcore (renderer), I always play with vsync off, I even tried to go deeper into files of the 7 days to die, haven't find a thing to try to fix this..
what is even more weird, when i turn all the graphics settings to the lowest, when i look down and up fps is unlocking itself xD but when i look in front it again locks to 60, this isnt working like this in high and ultra settings (solid 60) (this isnt hardware problem, i have good enough pc for the job)
Didnt really help. Enough to get the poi finished, didn't do the quest as was gonna do a dble dip. But due to the piss poor performance, decided to quit the quest and just return to the pine forest. Wasteland and burnt forest are major issues for me, desert and snow bioms not so much. Not sure why, as i remember in the past having only issues in the wasteland.
Yeah, you're going to really struggle to play 7 days to die with such an old CPU. I have an old i7 4790k and that runs at around 60 - 65 fps at most with almost everything set to the lowest settings inside of the wasteland and large pois.
Love the breakdown. More people should know this stuff!
Greatly appreciate the performance table! Makes it easier to play with my settings in game without jumping around in the video
omg i've been looking for a video like this, thank you
Same here! So I just decided to go ahead and make it myself.
Needs more likes. I've been steuggling on how to improve performance.

Surviving the horde night is the biggest trouble I have for surviving in this game and that's usually where FPS are the most important.
Great breakdown man! For Particles, did you test it with working Chem Bench too? Seems to affect FPS quite a lot for me.

Cual es tu configuracion de obs
Cuanto bitrate usas
Usas CBR?
Grabas en 1140p?
This game needs a DirectX version so badly, Vulkan is ok but for a lot of more modern cards its a hindrance.
What settings should I run with a 2060 Super + I7 6700k?

You're most likely running out of VRAM on the 1650 with textures set to full and other settings set to medium.
@@TheFPSTester ohhhh ok thanks for the quick response brother
i would be tearing my eyes out at that fps.
I think you may have missed Occlusion.
why does your Ui look different? You have Mesh distance on the quality page?
I photoshopped it to make it look cleaner in a single image.
have a small question when i play 7 days to die my gpu starts making a lot of noise how can this be i have a nivida 3070 and run on medium
Have you got your fps capped in-game?
@@TheFPSTester
I think it's my screen because it's not that good, it can only do 60 FPS in every game I play
how do you have more than 60 fps? i have hard lock on 60 and i have no idea how to unlock it... please help me :c
Sounds like you have vsync turned on.

I have a 7800x3d and a 7800xt. Even at 1080p. In poi's i sometimes see franes as low as 28fps. I'll have to try these settings out.
