⚠So I messed up Tip 5 - the dew collector and forge still require the workstation magazines - level 2 for dew collector and level 5 for forge. I don't know how I messed this up and thanks to @joeg5758 for flagging it! ⚠
@CautiousPancake Yeah I am in alpha still. 1.0 isn't out yet huh? I saw a lot of 1.0 videos and I thought it came out. Can I somehow get 1.0 earlier or is it just for content creators?
@@megotodesu4369 The stable release should be in a couple of weeks - but you can play the experimental now if you opt-in. To do so, go to steam -> 7 days -> properties -> betas -> select "latest experimental - unstable build". Noting that your A21 games won't work on 1.0 and that this overwrites your A21 install. You can go back again later if you need to, but it gets trickier to manage.
Also a heads up to any players getting into questing; during one of the special quests where you rank up / discover new traders across the map, one of the rewards they'll offer you is the solar panel bundle. PICK THIS. Doesn't matter what else the guy is offering; you'll want those 3 solar panes which can cost anywhere for 16k~ for lower quality ones up to around 36k~ for the big boys. These are pretty rare to come across naturally and usually require a lot of points into intelligence and 'the daring adventurer' perk before you start seeing them with any amount of infrequency. They're rare, sought after, and you'll be kicking yourself for not having gotten THREE of them from a random special quest reward.
@@Mohawk_Productions They give infinite electricity for your base, you can route the solar panel to a battery box and then route the battery box to whatever electronics your base uses. Lights, turrets, doors, electrical fences, spotlights, sirens, pressure plates and so on. Otherwise you have to use fuel in a generator to operate electronics and this uses up a lot of resources & isn't sustainable forever like solar panes are.
@@dylankent2759 Yes it is a completely different game, and the fact that they put it up for less than any new game, plus with a discount if you owned the old one makes it even more worth it. The wife is not happy I bought the game because I do not want to stop playing it.
Random tip. If you see pictures or paintings inside houses smash them because sometimes they hide items stashes or wall safes behind them. Also break air vents open sometimes they hide stuff there too.
If you want to have the fastest build path, what I've found is start leveling strength to 5 first, and get your miner 69er and motherload to 4 stacks. Mine wood, stone, and clay, and build a base fast, especially one with a lot of blocks, and update them to cobble. Updating those skills first lets you mine faster and get a lot more resources quick, saving a load of time. Then put all your points in intelligence and get it up to 10 asap, then daring adventurer and the merchant perks to full. Then start your questing. The double rewards per quest power boosts you to a ridiculous degree and you can get a lot of the magazines early as they're way cheaper and you get more dukes in general. I've gotten to this point by day 3 in two playthroughs now. Its not the most exciting start, but it really gets you on the best footing fast, especially since you'll be getting the best items appearing in the traders by the first store refreshes. All without even needing to fight a zombie, do a quest or enter a poi. Another tip, though i imagine it will be patched eventually. For the buried treasure quests, go to the quest marker but don't activate it. Dig straight below it until you hit rock, and then dig a path to the surface, for levels 1-3, then activate the quest marker. The ground will stay dug and there's a 90% chance that the chest will be exposed from your pre-dug path, meaning that you can hop in, grab it, and hop out, without risking getting ganged up on in the hole and even gives you the best chance to just run if you don't want to fight. For the higher level ones, or if you're in wasteland and down want to get swarmed, you can dig down to rock, and then dig all the clay around you that you can reach from that central point, making a room. Clear a path up, and then activate the quest. This guarantees the chest will be available immediately and you can leave immediately and not have to worry about the different waves spawning. In all cases though, DO NOT BREAK THE STONE. If you break the stone, there's a chance that when you start the quest the chest will spawn above it, and if the stone beneath it was destroyed it will just fall and break, failing the quest. So if you do break the stone, replace it before starting the quest. Likewise, in single player, before activating the quest markers for the fetch, clear and power quests, completely loot the poi first (including breaking down things for their materials like fridges, stoves, etc). once you activate the marker, it refreshes the poi, and restocks it, so you not only know the full lay of the land, you get double the stuff. This isn't likely to get patched as it was done some people can do quests on multi-player servers and not have to worry about not being able to do quests without. It's not exactly new either, but for newbies this can be valuable info. What I've found it really useful for is respawning valuable resources. If you're working on making a farm for example, and you want the rotten flesh (as well as two red bags) then you can check to see if there's a level three quest in any town that has a bears den. This spawns two zombie bears in cages on the second floor, giving you time to kill them safely. and getting you 20 to 50 rotten flesh a bear (depending on your hunter perk level), and they auto-drop the red bags. So you clear them, then activate the quest, and have a chance each day of being able to do it again.
The nerd hat is a must item, even if you don't use it all the time - on horde night with a tier 6 nerd hat, treasure hunter mod & grandpa's learnin' elixer you can get +40% xp gain. Also save your challenge completions for when you're wearing a nerd hat - the XP you gain is also boosted by these XP increasing items.
Thanks raver - agree that the nerd hat is nice - although I prefer the treasure hunter mod if I'm not doing a heavy armor build, and in tip 8 I tried to cover off the extra XP for challenge completion at the end of that tip.
I didn't realize about tip 4 and 5, the fact that you can make a forge from the start is very nice. We don't have to buy a cooking pot and grill from the vendor if we are out of luck and cannot find them in houses. Also for TIP 10, the laundry can also contain legendary parts. but those are easier to find in the lower lootstage. I found 6 legendary parts on the first week or so while in the forest biome but none while in the desert/snow biome in weeks 3 and 4 (but I get more armor parts and pieces itself more often in the desert/snow biome)
Yeah - I love not really needing to worry about the grill/pot anymore - you can still find them before you get the forge going, but if not, it's easy to get one from the forge. Good point on the early Legendary parts - and that's interesting they are more common early!
This games replayability over time is unreal- my mom has nearly 5000 hours and has been playing since like 2013 I think LOL - it's a great game to 'jump back into' -get lost in it - develop a minor addiction and play far too much before you decide to move on - but THEY ALL COME BACK LOL!!
Expanding Tip 10, if you are desperate for cloth, try to remember which POI have rolls of carpet. I know the POI of the house under construction, with the screamer has a roll of cloth carpet upstairs and is worth looting twice. One rolled carpet will give you more cloth than a Savage Country, in a fraction of the time. Caution, some carpet rolls in POIs are actually painted wood, and not cloth.
@@CautiousPancake also if you need a lot of cloth/leather fast; try to find a clothes-store and just scrap almost all clothes/shoes you find, you can rack up a ludicrous amount of resources that way in decent time 😀
@@CautiousPancake Wish I could play 7dtd, but my old PC can't handle it 😅. Heard Boosteroid might let me play high-end games without new hardware. Think you could check it out and share your thoughts? Your subs might dig it too! btw ty for replying my com :)

I'd love to hear your thoughts on it, I bet loads of ur subs would be interested too. Keep up the great work, btw ty for replying my com, i appreciate it:)
Thanks for the tips! I like that ore nodes spawn in urban areas now. It's not so much of a hunt to find them. I also like that dew collectors are easy to build. I'm not sure why they gave the zombies different coloured outfits and then made them all look like they've been rolling around in the mud so they all look the same, yet again. Don't forget mannequins for polymer!
Awesome tips! One thing I found, is combat related: use a two weapon attack strategy. I start with a club and when the zombie is on the ground I use my shiv. The shiv has minimal stamina depletion and can cause bleed effects
Tip: You can track the challenges, and it will put markers on objects that will fulfill the challenges (like the tutorial markers that help you find stones and such). This is great for the harvesting challenges that are a bit obnoxious with which objects count as a source of the item you need.
That is a good tip! From the change logs since build 309 I know they've done some work to make that better, but it can still be a bit hit and miss I think, so tracking is a good idea!
Regarding tip # 10 - I have found that garment bags and clothes shelves and clothes piles also have a good chance to give a legendary part. Not that you'll need it on day 1 or 5 or 10, but keep it in mind and build up the parts so you're not scrambling later.
Another thing to mention, when exploring a POI: if you ever get stuck trying to find your way thru buildings (especially the larger ones) check for any light sources nearby. Flashlights and lanterns will light the way for the POI's intended path of exploration, with flashlights generally pointing in that direction as well. This also helps so you aren’t wasting time tryna break thru walls of steel or concrete.
Really looking forward to your 1.0 base builds to see what still works from earlier to now. And have you figured out a floating base build that won't attack the hidden supports? I tried your old one and they managed to find and take out my floating base.
Regarding the “searched/empty visual change” for looted objects, i’ve found that the “loot respawn days X” settings for your game don’t reset the empty item like they used to, so you have to rely on trader quest resets for things to respawn loot in them. I’d rather the lootable items visual change not be expanded to more loot containers so loot can still respawn later. Especially not cars as they sometimes have good loot in them, especially in the wasteland. This is one reason i still prefer the old bookshelves because the new ones in crack-a-book stores don’t respawn, they just stay empty till you get a quest for that POI.
Maybe many people already know this, but an additional tip would be to loot the entire area of search quest or zombie-killing quest (or both) before starting the mission. Then, you start the mission and the entire area resets, allowing you to loot it again and get double the rewards
It's a good tip - a sneaky double loot is a common tip, but worth mentioning for those new to the game for sure! The only downside to it is the time it takes, and it therefore can slow trader progression. That used to be a bigger issue than it is in 1.0 though as now the rewards from traders have been toned down, so loot is more important now!
@@CautiousPancake Yeah, If you're fast enough you can do the 3 daily progression quests while double looting with that trick. If you feel that you will not have time, Another great idea is to go directly to the main loot point, open the boxes, loot everything and start the mission, this way you double the main loot, which takes much less time
Additional Info on Challenges: After you get the trader challenges done, do not collect any more TIll you have a large amount of them and can afford or make Learning Elixer. Maybe have the XP Mod and Nerdy Hat, and you will get much more XP! ... Trader prices are more expensive and reward less Dukes, but... again, gear, mods, and consumables can take a 15K Crusicible down to as low as 2249 Dukes as well as Sell for much more. Armor Parts, Legendary Parts, Cloth, Leather, Sewing kits all can be found in Mass at Savage Country PoIs.
This is one of my all time favorite relaxing game and I can just get lost in it for days or weeks and then go back to life- years later - do it again LOL
Two things I hope get changed. First, bring back the empty jars. You drink the water, and it disappears, yet the Dew Collector can magically create them. Secondly, I would like it if they added the clothing description when crafting them. I have to go to the trader to highlight clothing parts to see what they do before crafting them so I don't waste materials.
I’m horrible at this game but one huge tip I learned yesterday while streaming is if one of the books you find is the one for no longer getting encumbered at night then definitely read it. I’m not sure what it’s called. I believe it might be in the heist books
Here's a tip always place a block on the spawning area of zombies once you finished looting the house. Once the loot is refreshed you can just walk in loot the items and walk out without fighting zombies especially in 30 or 60 days where the zombies are feral and radiated Tip 2 if your going to do any quest always loot the house before accepting the quest so the house and loot will be refreshed pretty much double exp and loot in 1 house
Use a shovel instead of axe in early game to destroy trash. A single hit with a level 1 stone shovel instead of 2 or 3 with the stone axe. It also has a slightly longer reach.
Welcome back! Hope it's different in a good way! All the changes (apart from a couple :D) have felt good to me over the last few alphas, so hopefully when you put them all together after a break it feels good too!
Another quality of life change (at least I think it has changed), is with the buried caches quests. Previously you could get unlucky and have one spawn under some pavement, like roads or parking lots. Meaning you had to break through the hard top layer to get to the buried cache. Now when you start the quest at the location, even if the quest has spawned in the middle of a road, the top soil will turn to clay within the circle.
I've not seen that yet, but that's a nice change! I always tunneled in from the side (to avoid going through the road) but if that's changed that's nice!
I think clothing containers may have been even more important in A21 as you could scrap those cloths for much more cloth than will be in the container in 1.0. Thankfully the farmer armor set should make cotton farms more useful now, even without investing in fortitude.
get your looting up before your daring adventurer. you will start finding legendary tool parts or whatever theyre called early. i got lvl 6 gear before night 7. fully lvl 6 gear at day 16.
Thanks for the video! I have played hunderds of hours of 7DTD, but always on playstation, and due to legal struggles with the fun pimps and the publisher, the version i played was always a early alpha version with no possibilities for updates. So since a few days we finaly have a ps5 version 1.0 of 7 days to die , so i am playing the hell out of it and lovin it. Helpful tips and had to laugh very hard at your joke about shooting lessons from you. ps. I have gathered lots of armor parts but don't know how to use them , i am going to search it online but that one thing i missed ;-)
I bought a blue pump shotgun early in the game. I think I was level 2 bartering and daring. That's the most awesome weapon - I use it with either Preacher gloves or commando gloves where at tier 6 gives you a +60% damage bonus. My tip is to concentrate on getting your armors up to tier 6 and don't use the tier 6 gear upgrades on weapons as even a low-level weapon becomes devastating with a 60% increase in damages.
Interesting - that's the exact same weapon I got - when all I could make at that point I think was a t2 double barrel - the jump to t5 pump was *amazing* - prior to that ferals were trouble and rads were a serious risk - and with the t5 pump it was only a group of rads that would threaten. 100% agree on keepint the legendary parts for t6 armor first up, and then whatever you feel like from there.
@@CautiousPancake It's 50% not 60 for those armors. I thought it was - pretty sure - but they may have nerfed it down and neglected to say so - which they're notorious for not mentioning changes in patch notes. But yeah the pump shotgun is very powerful weapon and even a tier one without any points into shotguns is devastating if you act like it's a melee weapon.
Man I wish I would’ve watched this video at the beginning of my play session and not the end. #5 would’ve been particularly useful and probably would saved me a couple of deaths due to dehydration/starving/dysentery fatigue.
Thanks - although I got tip #5 wrong - you still need a mag to get dew collector , and 3 more after that for the forge. You can usually find a couple in the trader compound though from the cement mixer and destroyed workbench etc. Keep an eye out for cement mixers in the word - as they always have a forge mag!
Great video! I would likely to kindly point out though that some of your information is incorrect, specifically referring to the forge and dew collector. To unlock the latter, you still need 1 forge ahead magazine, and to unlock the forge, you require 5 magazines read. (Technically 4, since we always start off with 1 magazine read for each series, which I've always found a bit odd.)
Thanks - and yes - I've just changed over the pinned comment after someone else pointed out that error as well - I'm not sure how I messed that up, but I really appreciate you correcting me so politely!
the ore in town can really mess with POI's that have underground areas, ive seen nodes going right through bunkers such as johnny towns one completely blocking one of the tunnels
I hope Fun Pimps NEVER change the car loot icon!! Once an object like a mailbox or fridge show they've been looted, they can't be looted again, it's a one and done deal. I love that I can re-search each vehicle once a week!. We get more loot out of them that way. ;)
What work benches can be picked up after putting down a land claim block? I have down now a 3 forges 1 work bench 3 cement mixers and 2 chem bench and we have tossed around the idea of possible moving.
In some yes - but not alll (although probably most). Not all new players will know that they can do that for the end room, and I was thinking it was good to explain what that was for in case people didn't know!
I've got over 200 hours in this game, started my 1.0 playthrough a couple days ago, and only just realised that the lockpick and advanced engineering perk are what get you workstation magazines in loot. Here I am, on day 13, still with only level 2 in workstations LOL Is it my fault? There's no mention of magazines in the descriptions of those perks
They might have been! I've never gone digging under poi's in the past to try and find them. And it could be a bug in the world generation that gets corrected, but for now it's a little bonus that it's easy to find them
4:56 I feel like you’ve just glossed over the fact that block shapes can be used to make ‘iron’ bars. I’ve been wasting so much iron on iron bars to shoot through and this whole time I could’ve just made them out of cheap cobblestone?!
Just FYI, Tip 1 for the players that rely on items respawning, this is bad news cuz you can't get mail boxes or anything that has that animation of previously looted will not respawn the loot any more. I feel like that should had been mentioned in that tip.
That's a good point that I'd not factored - it's been too long since I played with loot respawn on (although I've got nothing against it!). If you leave something behind in it so it doesn't get factored as empty, does it respawn still?
Mailboxes shouldn´t need a QoL update. The real QoL update would be not having to hunt after magazines all the time. In MP you can´t ignore a single mailbox if you wanna keep up with the fast raising gamestage. And also in SP you also constantly look for magazines.
0:50 not sure you realize this, but this 2-state container isn't really all that great for looting... All these that have a distinct "looted" view are *_single-use_* and they won't go back to the lootable state. They get _replaced_ by the "empty" block and stay that way. While cars (and other mutli-use containers) keep being the same "block"/"entity" and thus will allow loot respawn to happen on them. (I wish they did change the system, and have separate states for empty and un-searched _without_ this single-use "feature"...) 2:13 it should, you probably just didn't have such a "key" marker in the PoIs you were given.
Yeah I got lots of feedback on the loot respawn issue! 😀 Total oversight by me since I play mostly single player and don't respawn loot, but it's totally valid for people to do so. Agree with you that the best would be both the visual indicator but still allowing for loot respawn!
I feel like im the only person that wished that ONE the ore nodes werent on the map TWO they were far more rare. Whats the point of finding loot for (lead, coal, scrap metal, Nitro) if its basically free on the map. If it was was scarce, it would making finding it and mining a reward. The logistics would come into play from mining it. The loot you find for this in the early game would actually be useful. I dont wanna make everyone else play my style but I wish there was a setting for it.
That's an interesting idea for sure! I've never got into the random gen world building like some do, but I wonder if it can be done. Overall it would be an interesting change if those resources only came from mining, and were rare like you suggest!
I played this constantly on my PS4, but when 1.0 comes out for the PS5, hopefully on Tuesday like they said, it seems like I'll be learning a whole new game. So many changes. But I can't wait!
Apparently so - someone else checked that out because they seem to have more hit points than in alpha 21. So the fall down effect would be a bit of a guide if you really need to kill as quickly as possible when other Zombies are becoming attracted to you.
@@gambitgambles oh ouch! I just saw my first one today on horde 28 - it just depends what gamestage you are at, they are most common from gamestages 40 to 59, after that it's only an occasional wave that has them.
If youre really stingey like I am, you can look in containers like trash and backpacks to see what they have, then break them for a small amount of extra resources like polymer, paper, and cloth
Good option! I tend to skip this for what feels like the "fast" way to get materials I need, but every now and then when I'm low on everything, I end up stripping the poi down to the floorboards 😃
Tip 1 removed the ability for loot to respawn in those locations. Adding that to cars would be... problematic especially on a multiplayer server. The servers im a team member on runs a mod to refresh vehicles every few days and its still hard to get loot from them some times.
Yeah - I've had a bunch of feedback on that - shows that I play singleplayer too much! Why are the cars always gone out of curiosity - for me, once I've got a bunch of engines, there's easier ways to get the rest of the gear normally from poi salvaging? (other than headlights, but you don't need many of them usually?)
On PS5 you still need 5 books before you can make the forge and 2 for the water collector thing. Finally found the fifth yesterday around day 9. Such a pain in the ass. So I guess it’s only on pc that you can build it from the start?
No sorry, I messed that up - there should be a pinned comment now that corrected it (I wish I could amend videos sometimes!). Still not sure how that got through, but it's the same on pc - 2 for dew collector and 5 for forge. Loot the trader destroyed workbench etc and you should get 1 usually, and keep an eye out for cement mixers in particular in the world - they always have one!
@@CautiousPancake Aahhh yess. I was searching for any comment to point that out but now I see the pinned comment😂. Yeah and in my experience the trader sometimes sells multiple of the forge ahead books so that’s another option to get them. But thanks for the cement mixer info
You need forge ahead magazines - keep an eye out for cement mixers as they are guaranteed a magazine, broken workbenches , chem stations and the like at each trader often have one. brken power generators can too. To help the likelyhood of finding them randomly, take a point into advanced engineering and lockpicking. And if you really want to push, try not to take too many points in too many skills that have magazines - as this means there's more magazines the game has to choose from for you, and the lower the chance you get a forge ahead magazine. Hope this helps!
For PC, hold 'R' or hit shift-R while holding a building block. For console according to the wiki it's hold B on an xbox controller while holding Building Block in your hand, then select the top option in the radial menu. This is the Shapes Menu.
From what I understand, split screen will not be a thing with the new version. For split screen, the game pretty much has to run 2 copies on 1 system and with the updated graphics and such, it would be nearly impossible without making huge changes
From the Hunt Animals challenge - "The Stealth Damage Bonus has a defaul cooldown period of 10 seconds in PvE . . ." Has that always been a thing, or is that new for 1.0?
Another helpfull tip : gather as much cotton, red flowers and yellow flowers to sell at rekt's trader.... it'll give ya a signifficant amount of gold to purchase stuff
Fun pimps need to fix the controller use window so if those of use that like using controllers should be able to use controller only not commands with the controller and keyboard together.
interesting - I'd assumed you could - with the console release pending I hope they can do everything with a controller! What do you need the keyboard for currently (I've never played with controller for this - I do for other games like hades though).
if im not mistaken.. once the item changes to a "searched" item. it doesnt repopulate or replenish its loot as its now a empty searched base block. or mine didnt anyway
True for sure - so playing with loot respawn will be harder now for mailboxes, although I'm sure it will be modded at some point if that's not something you like!
I’m on the latest V1.0 experimental and still need books for both forge and dew collector. What’s going on there? I like the road paint changes because building on road markings was always a pain and not very realistic.
On the books, I messed that up completely sorry! I've added a pinned comment to flag it. Agreed on the road markings, this is a great change since they can be there, but don't mess with building!
That quality of life update. I don't like it. U ever wanna take a poi and call it home. U cant reuse the fridge or oven for storage. If do that with cars too. That another spot i lose for storage. I get it. U can craft storage. Sometimes it nice to reuse the container the world already spawn in.
is it normal for skill points to not stack? ive been having this problem since the old console game. i saved 1 skill point to see if i still had this problem. and when i saw i received 2 extra skill points..thats all i had, not 3 in total. just 2.
⚠So I messed up Tip 5 - the dew collector and forge still require the workstation magazines - level 2 for dew collector and level 5 for forge. I don't know how I messed this up and thanks to @joeg5758 for flagging it! ⚠

Why would you want more exp?
@@miho47dwa46 higher gamestage increases loot quality, as well as levels offering important perks
The scavenger hat is better.
FYI - the scavenger hat XP is only for XP gain while salvaging. Build 313 has updated the text to make it clearer.
Wait a minute don't you still need the books. I could have sworn that when I first started playing 1.0 I still needed the books to build them.
@@joeg5758 Well that's embarrassing. Yes, you still need the books! I ... don't know how I made that mistake 😱😱😱
@@CautiousPancake After playing a bit more, I could find them again but more in loot chests rather than in garbage and clothing loot
Don't you also need an anvil?
Thank you for this, I’m jumping back into the game after almost 3 years of not playing so this video has been helpful!
Glad I could help! 🙂
That's a good tip - the carpet rolls are great when you find them for sure!
Also the trash you find on the floor of poi's. They give cloth, polimer, and glass. Glass aside they are easy to axe and a reliable source of those.
@@CautiousPancake also if you need a lot of cloth/leather fast; try to find a clothes-store and just scrap almost all clothes/shoes you find, you can rack up a ludicrous amount of resources that way in decent time 😀
The Munchz Carpet POI is also an excellent source of cloth. :)
@@MrMacavity Not sure I follow on this one - there's no clothes/shoes anymore?

Great summary, no messing around, super helpful!!
Glad it was helpful!
Absolutely - the ore nodes is great I think - and you can still go out of town if you don't like the mine in a poi that might get reset from a quest.
Awesome tips! One thing I found, is combat related: use a two weapon attack strategy. I start with a club and when the zombie is on the ground I use my shiv. The shiv has minimal stamina depletion and can cause bleed effects
I think you get damage multiplier if you BONK on the head when zombie is down. + you can ragdoll zombie again.
The club (if you have points into the club perk) does *significantly* more damage on downed or stunned zombies though.
the most ineffective strategy ever 💀
New Player spotted 💀
Tip: You can track the challenges, and it will put markers on objects that will fulfill the challenges (like the tutorial markers that help you find stones and such). This is great for the harvesting challenges that are a bit obnoxious with which objects count as a source of the item you need.
That is a good tip! From the change logs since build 309 I know they've done some work to make that better, but it can still be a bit hit and miss I think, so tracking is a good idea!
Good when you are doing the honey stump challenge. Using track shows you exactly which stumps to get. Only certain items will tally up you challenge..
Absolutely - I still use this when I forget the way to go!
Really looking forward to your 1.0 base builds to see what still works from earlier to now. And have you figured out a floating base build that won't attack the hidden supports? I tried your old one and they managed to find and take out my floating base.
Searched vehicles, and cupboards, would be nice if we could get visual ques that they've been opened.
Great video as always!
Thanks! And agree - I love the searched visual indicators!
I love all your videos. Thank you so much!
You're most welcome, thanks!
Thanks for you videos, really a good help getting into the game after a VERY long break 💪
Happy to help, and welcome back! 🥳
If you feel that you will not have time, Another great idea is to go directly to the main loot point, open the boxes, loot everything and start the mission, this way you double the main loot, which takes much less time
An all time favorite move by one of our teammates when we play- over and over LOL great way to grind.
This game looks sick! Excited to play it. Love the mix of survival crafting and zombies.
I'm obviously biased, but yes - it's pretty awesome - it scratches an itch that so many other survival games don't (at least for me!)
This is one of my all time favorite relaxing game and I can just get lost in it for days or weeks and then go back to life- years later - do it again LOL
0:56 they probably dont want to have to make a whole car interior. I'd take the doors being slightly ajar even if it was just a flat shadow interior.
Same! Although lots of people also pointed out this will break the loot respawn on multiplayer so not sure if we'll see it anytime soon 🤔
Please add any other tips you have for other players that I missed - so we can all benefit!
I don't know about anyone else. But I find legendary parts in the clothing areas only...
I’m horrible at this game but one huge tip I learned yesterday while streaming is if one of the books you find is the one for no longer getting encumbered at night then definitely read it. I’m not sure what it’s called. I believe it might be in the heist books
Some handy tips!
Nice video.
TFP put some nice QOL additions into 1.0. Pretty great.
Thanks, and I agree, some nice changes!

Helpful vid definitely worth a sub
Awesome, thank you! 🙂
yo thank you for these tips, i came back to this game after months and i was so confused with the new changes
You're welcome, and hope you enjoy the new release!
Here's a tip always place a block on the spawning area of zombies once you finished looting the house. Once the loot is refreshed you can just walk in loot the items and walk out without fighting zombies especially in 30 or 60 days where the zombies are feral and radiated
Tip 2 if your going to do any quest always loot the house before accepting the quest so the house and loot will be refreshed pretty much double exp and loot in 1 house
Also poi that have tents are a good source for cloth just axe it from the top down
Pancake, Your tips and research vids are top tier man but, your playing........is quite unique, especially your shooting style LOL!!!
Hahaha, I'll never win any sharpshooter awards, that's for sure! 🤣
I didn't know about that radial shape option, thanks Pancake! 🥞
You bet! Thanks for watching :)
Use a shovel instead of axe in early game to destroy trash. A single hit with a level 1 stone shovel instead of 2 or 3 with the stone axe. It also has a slightly longer reach.
Good tip - I'll try that!
I love the Mail box. I don't know how many I checked several times the same dang mailbox! One of my fav change!
Clear missions reset poi's so you can run through and loot them and then start the clear mission and get almost double the loot
thanks for this. I'm returning to the game after a loooong break. It feels so different.
Welcome back! Hope it's different in a good way! All the changes (apart from a couple :D) have felt good to me over the last few alphas, so hopefully when you put them all together after a break it feels good too!
I did not know that about the keys, thanks.
Have fun
Cheers!
Gleu is no problem. Problem is to get good amount of fabrick to make duck tape
Yeah, I've been considering a cotton farm, but so far haven't needed to do that, although I could given that food is under control
get your looting up before your daring adventurer. you will start finding legendary tool parts or whatever theyre called early. i got lvl 6 gear before night 7. fully lvl 6 gear at day 16.
Legendary parts are pretty common early from what I've seen and a few others commented as well - loot level might make it more so though!
Thanks mate - so glad that console versions are aligned now!! For the armor parts, use em to make armor kits, which then are used to craft armor :)
@@W1se0ldg33zer Yeah 50% dmg bonus for T6, except for preacher which is 60%.
You can get pipes from breaking down toilets too

I wanted more music to match the titles, but copyright 😕
I suck at aiming too :) Would love to get better at headshots. What gets me is when they swerve/walk to the side while walking towards you
Haha - yeah.. it was totally the swerving that made me miss :D :D :D
later stage the cloths shelves and trash are the best for legendary parts.
Clothing all throughout seem to be the most likely for the legendary parts for sure!
Nice job CP!

Hey Ezbz - so far it's been fun! Hope it is for you as well!
@@CautiousPancake I haven't tried it yet, but I think I will soon.
@@CautiousPancake No worries, human error, we all make mistakes. :)
Holy shit, I haven’t been paying attention to 7 Days for a few months now. It looks like an entirely different game in some ways
Yeah, some nice changes!
the ore in town can really mess with POI's that have underground areas, ive seen nodes going right through bunkers such as johnny towns one completely blocking one of the tunnels
That's interesting - I've not see that so far for me, but I'll check out johnny's!
All of those can be picked up!
I dont think copy shape/rotation is new. Also check out thr paint bucket option when painting. Its not new either but its awesone for decorators
Copy shape and copy rotation both existed, but seperately - the new part is doing both at the same time!
For tip 3, you can always just break through the walls of a POI to make it easier to clear.
In some yes - but not alll (although probably most). Not all new players will know that they can do that for the end room, and I was thinking it was good to explain what that was for in case people didn't know!
This was very helpful!! Thank you kind sir 💪🏻
You're very welcome!
I've got over 200 hours in this game, started my 1.0 playthrough a couple days ago, and only just realised that the lockpick and advanced engineering perk are what get you workstation magazines in loot. Here I am, on day 13, still with only level 2 in workstations LOL
Is it my fault? There's no mention of magazines in the descriptions of those perks
I had assumed nodes were always there and just got overwritten on the surface by the building tilesets
@@CautiousPancakei haven't played with loot respawn in years, i do wish ALL loot didn't respawn by default
I've been playing on the PS5 and the 1.0 looks like a whole new game.
Here's hoping the console release comes out in a couple of weeks like expected!
thanks, good vid for sure
Thanks Kabal :)
(I wish they did change the system, and have separate states for empty and un-searched _without_ this single-use "feature"...)
2:13 it should, you probably just didn't have such a "key" marker in the PoIs you were given.
I hope it's on time too - getting close!
Haven't tested this but supossedly when a Zom first falls down after being hit by you, that means 1/2 of its HP is gone.
That's something I'm definitely going to look at!
Apparently so - someone else checked that out because they seem to have more hit points than in alpha 21. So the fall down effect would be a bit of a guide if you really need to kill as quickly as possible when other Zombies are becoming attracted to you.
Also a tip day 21 is BRUTAL! You will need a lot of ammo or a really good base or you will not make it!
Did you have ferals for the first time (on horde night) then?
@@CautiousPancake I got 6 direwolfes on day 21! They trashed my base and almost killed me. (New enemies)
@@gambitgambles oh ouch! I just saw my first one today on horde 28 - it just depends what gamestage you are at, they are most common from gamestages 40 to 59, after that it's only an occasional wave that has them.

Lmao
thanks for the tips!
No problem! 😃
Will be when i buy it
If youre really stingey like I am, you can look in containers like trash and backpacks to see what they have, then break them for a small amount of extra resources like polymer, paper, and cloth
Searchables with a separate empty model don't refill if you leave them alone for a week. We don't want cars to work like that.
Yeah, agreed - ideally we'd get both! (I can dream right?)
There was money in the diner seat!
Loose change between the cushions :D
@@Lenny-78 You're welcome!
My current game, im on day 12, and i still cant craft a workbench. I cant find those magazines anywhere.
How do you pull up the menu to change the type of wood you’re using?
For PC, hold 'R' or hit shift-R while holding a building block.
For console according to the wiki it's hold B on an xbox controller while holding Building Block in your hand, then select the top option in the radial menu. This is the Shapes Menu.
Any idea if split screen will be added to the PS5 version down the track?
No idea on that one sorry!
From what I understand, split screen will not be a thing with the new version. For split screen, the game pretty much has to run 2 copies on 1 system and with the updated graphics and such, it would be nearly impossible without making huge changes
The pipe gun animations make my wrist hurt
You mean for the pipe shotgun? That last slap on the wrist would get old after a few reloads for sure!
Did they get rid of the wellness system? I don’t understand how that works now?🤔
We need a push mower/Scythe soooooo bad! Love it besides that.
That would sure help for fiber collection! I know someone modded in a little ride-on mower vehicle at some point that harvests up the grass :D
From the Hunt Animals challenge - "The Stealth Damage Bonus has a defaul cooldown period of 10 seconds in PvE . . ."
Has that always been a thing, or is that new for 1.0?
Another helpfull tip : gather as much cotton, red flowers and yellow flowers to sell at rekt's trader.... it'll give ya a signifficant amount of gold to purchase stuff
Personally I'd keep the cotton for cloth, but otherwise - good tip!
@@CautiousPancake your welcome, its how i upgraded my dew collector straight up within the 1st three days

I'm a new player and was listening to this video in the background. I had to look up when i heard you say "build a jew collector and a forge"
oh my! apologies if that came out weird - I do have trouble getting the words out from time to time!
I had to get my workstation to level 10 before it Let me craft a forge and level four before I could craft the dew collector.
Yeah, I made a mistake on that unfortunately, and updated with a pinned comment. The dew collector should be lvl 2 and forge lvl 5 though.
That is true for sure. I think there used to be mods that enabled them for storage - but not sure if they are working for 1.0 yet.
is it normal for skill points to not stack? ive been having this problem since the old console game. i saved 1 skill point to see if i still had this problem. and when i saw i received 2 extra skill points..thats all i had, not 3 in total. just 2.
I've never noticed that happening, that doesn't sound good at all. I assume you mean after each level up?
