The stun is nice, but with a repulsor mod, the zombies get sent flying in a ragdoll and knock down other zombies in the way, making you nearly untouchable. Putting points in damage & attack speed skills are also nice, but if you put it into the physician skill, you can get a 20% dismemberment chance at level 4 and a 10% instant kill chance at level 5.

So true about the auto shotty sound. It SHOULD sound more like the Coil shotgun in Darkness Falls. In fact a lot of the things that are missed opportunities for the guns are addressed well in most of the overhaul mods like Darkness Falls and Undead Legacy. And the IYAZO gun pack mod.
Dede is clearly God Tier. Holds your stuff for more looting, heals you when your hurt, gives you extra stamina, warns you about enemies and keeps you company. Dede is the GOAT, lol
The thing is... this list varies depending on difficulty settings. The Stun Baton is WAY more useful on average settings. The levels you play... I just hear Ranier Wolfcastle saying "These goggles, they do NOTHING!"
I think the robotics spec should have a mod at max that they can make, like a "battery pack mod" that can be installed onto all melee weapons to do electric damage on hit. Like the stun baton, but slightly worse. That would be cool
This definitive weapon ranking chart just proves what I've assumed for the last three alphas. Despite TFP's attempt to make STR the definitive OP tree AGI reigns supreme. All the S Tier weaponry besides the steel knucks are Agility weapons.
Agility might be the only tree where the ranged weapon from the third tier is still worth keeping in the loadout when you get the fourth tier, even capped. An smg and dulture pair so well.
I'm playin insane on the 8k map and I use the switchback horde base. And the stun baton is awesome for knocking back zed heads and saving the damage on your base. But in general I agree with your assessment of the weapons/tools. Luv yer chit keep up the great work b safe my luv to u and yours
"You can't use pointy rounds in a lever action." [laughs in Winchester Model 1895] Most would say you can't use pointy rounds in a tube mag.... [laughs in Lebel Model 1886] Still, I'd agree that the lever action in game should have been in the agility tree, and the mag fed hunting rifle should be brought back for 7.62. Dulture is easily A tier, if not S tier. There's a skill that gives it pen with standard ammo, plus the penetrator perk means you're dropping 3 in one shot. Gets the magnum discount perk. Almost does as much damage as rifles, holds more than 10 shots with a mag extender, and takes a silencer. It's fantastic, especially for agility builds. Magnum is easily C tier. Drop big zombies; it's the perfect companion to the pistol. It's nice to see you finally coming around to the stun baton.
Great video, making an SMG asap!! Would be awesome to see what all your favorite/ worst mods for vehicles, weapons, armor… are ranked from S to toilet😂❤❤❤
Magazine fed lever actions have existed for 120 years , not to mention no ody that has tried has actually got a tube fed to go off with pointy bullets. Just in case hornady does make pointy bullets specifically for tube fed lever guns, its the leverevolution line of products.
Well in that case allow me to correct his inaccuracies. S tier: steel club, steel sledge, sniper, pump shotgun. Machete is absolutely not S tier. F tier: stun bat, any knife, any pipe. This is for mid to late game, early game you can make anything work.
The stun baton, the only weapon in the game that a complete muppet can take on anything that is thrown at them, even when actively trying to fail, and still survive. The stun baton, literally has built in cheat codes that make the zombies just stand there ant take it. The stun baton, the only weapon in the game that has its own mod that grants it a second additional cheat code that flings not only the zombie you hit, but all zombies around the zombie you hit backwards and knocks them down. The stun baton, the only melee weapon in the game that makes you absolutely and unquestionably unkillable one on one against any zombie in the game. That stun baton takes the back seat to the machete and steel knuckles. I can't wait to see the next series where he clears Tier 6 quests with machete. Funny thing is, for that series he will probably use skull crushers and power attacks. We all know he'll have to bring plenty of band aides.
Stun baton, the only weapon in the game that makes you replace your mouse because you have to hit the zombies for nine years before they actually die. Stun baton, the only weapon in the game where stunned zombies can still hit you. Stun baton, the only weapon in the game where the fanboys are worse than a vegan crossfitter not shutting the fuck up about how 'great' their favourite weapon is.
The thing with the stun baton is, that if you dont have the right mods and the very expensive skill setup, its a gloving baseball bat that sparkles. A machete is alot better without the right build. With the right build the machette is a portable guillotine.
Not what I was expecting for the day, but it was fun. Not sure I agree with all those choices, but it's now been solidified! No changes allowed on this list 🤣
Steel Sledge deserves an easy C tier I think. Quite bad in a ceiling-drop in a POI, but very respectable on horde night (with the right blocks). Pipe Rifle I'd give an F, no question. I ONLY repair them with 1 pipe, and sell them. Hunting Rifle I'd put in toilet tier. It's a let-down after the pipe rifle, which is already an F tier. If it had a 5-shot magazine at least (and a slightly quicker action) I'd give it maybe a D. The rest I'd make lots of minor 1-letter adjustments, but generally pretty similar results. I think TFP are thinking the lever action is a "30-30" ...which IS pretty common. But I agree it'd be nice to have more 44 weapons. I actually thought (back when pipe weapons were initially teased) that they'd all be 44's or shotguns, cuz that would just make sense if you were actually making something like that. Because the rimmed cases/shells would work, and nobody's going to mill out a chamber shoulder inside a pipe from Home Depot at that level of crafting competency. They really gotta get rid of that mega-crush silencer on the SMG... it makes the goat look ghetto. And if you actually tried to make a silencer out of a soda can, it'd be aluminum scrap in one shot. An oil filter would make some sense, since it's made to withstand high pressures. But I really miss the sleek black silencer on it.
josh you should come up with a type of testing out gameplay where you test out one branch of weapon each week without changing the difficulty, or maybe only changing the difficulty AFTER you've tested all the weapons out. no permadeath or penalties for dying, just coming back to the same stuff to test out the next weapon branch.
in all fairness , the drone isn't a weapon in any capacity and could be left out, the torch on the other hand could have been included to the melee list.
I'm almost convincing me to use steel sledge outside horde night, cuz cumpling zombies up, with the right buffs, you will give a huge cleave damage plus knocking them down, then reset your stamina with steel club. Your bad luck on coffeshop (not having the book set as you changed from knuckles to maces) was a setback. Still thinks its a shame that pipe guns are a mockeri, aside from pipe mg.
Logically if steel knuckles are the best tier 3 melee. Then iron knuckles should be the best for tier 2 melee. So another reason to put iron knuckles into A tier
I was hovering over the dislike if the stun baton was actually going to be in the toilet tier. My only changes would be lowering the stone sledge hammer one tier, robot lowered one tier, raise the m60 to s tier, and raise auto-shotgun up one tier.
I agree with your reasoning and assessment of all but the ranking of the pistol. Finding a toilet pistol early in the game is so OP! This should raise the to at least "B" tier. The pistol is relevant until you get the SMG.
id definetly change steel axe up one tier. it's an amazing melee weapon with the same reach as the baseball bat, and when you mod it to do more enemy damage with the flame mod, it becomes a different demon.
Gotta say, someone tested the silence capability of the guns a while back. Think it was at 1.0 release or A21. The pipe shotgun for all its crap, was the quietest gun you could put a silencer on. Imagine assassin rolling with a hot bar full of pipe shotguns and never waking a zombie once
with your rules. you should have pushed everything down a tier and moved 3 out of S into A. Remember tier lists F doesnt mean bad. it just means its worse then the rest
Woodle have you actually tried using a wrench/ratchet//impact driver as a melee weapon while being invested in Salvage operations? They do a surprising amount of damage.
Wooden club should be A tier, no joke. It can carry you on Insane difficulty for quite long, you get it basically for free (you need to make it for quests anyways), very good early game, good knockdown, and if you REALLY need to, you can fight a Feral one on one with it. I would never recommend it, but a level 5 wooden club is legit just a good weapon. Edit for ranged weapons: This criminal put Magnum in E tier and Pistol in C tier... PISTOL IN C TIER? PEOPLE CARRY IT FOR TIER 6 INFESTATIONS! Overpowered early game weapon. Compound Crossbow is overrated, due to Assassin Armor's existence you can do the same with a silenced SMG/Sniper Rifle/Pistol. Auto Shotgun in B tier is bs - it's basically the best T3 gun in the game, ammo efficient, insane DPS when close, generates a lot less heat than M60...
20:51. Terry the Titty Tickling Turret.😂👌 Laughed so hard when you first said that during horde night, and it made be about just as happy this time. Also, Deedee shouldn't have been graded at all just cause she's not even a weapon.
Everybody has their own style and preference. Josh's list is pretty fair and i agree with 95% of it. Silly but as throwables I would put rocks higher. It is my go to tool to distract wandering zombies. But hey, its my opinion.
I'd put pipe shotgun in the E or F tier. It's still a shotgun, and as such can cause the stun/slow to save you from a feral in the early game :P snowballs and rocks might be S-tier though, since they work on zombie animals if you decide to go to the wasteland earlier than you should!
Three Agility weapons in S tier and also the three weapons I use for my most used end-game loadout. Impossible for me to disagree with this completely official, absolutely 100% objective tier list :)
19:41 oh yeah i remember when they said they wanted deedee to have guns and to be able to fight, and then when it was first added they said they were having issues and would add it later and then they still haven't... edit: you bastard, you put the dulture in B!?!? AND THE MAGNUM IN F!?!? this man has CLEARLY never tried the enforcer suit ever
I CHALLENGE YOU TO TAKE ON 10 RADS WITH A COMP XBOW (any mods) VS 20 RADS AND THE M60 (drum mag, rad remover, crippler, +any)....HANDS DOWN COMP XBOW LOOSES.
I woulda 100% swapped the M60 with the SMG... IDK why the SMG was S when it sucks ass compared to the M60 at max game stage, max difficulty. Auto shotty too, shoulda been A,(For Auto), as at max difficulty the extra damage a Tier 6 Auto does over a tier 6 pump IS HUGE. And it will sit down a crown of rad wights. Otherwise, pretty solid tier lists.
Since you commented that many of these weapons were "X" tier *In The Early Game* may I suggest that you divide the rows into three columns, early, mid, and late? I would disagree with the relative worth of the Compound Crossbow and the Compound Bow, but I tend to play stealthy characters, and the crossbow is just too noisy. I'll grant it uses less stamina, and having even a x4 scope is better than what you get with the bow, but it's still too noisy. And while this might be the "1.1" or "1.2" weapon rating, I'm quite sure that when a new version comes out, some of these are going to move, so it's not the final rating within the game. 🙂

Gotta love the fact that a sharp knife is rated similarly to the most complex and technologically advanced melee weapon in the game
I can't really remember but I'm pretty sure you can one or two shot a demo with the time charge.
agree. should be d class at least. against locks it sucks. against zomb's it is alright
I think the robotics spec should have a mod at max that they can make, like a "battery pack mod" that can be installed onto all melee weapons to do electric damage on hit. Like the stun baton, but slightly worse. That would be cool
The best way to make one of these videos, is to have multiple S tiers, an early game vs late game, and stealth vs Rambo.
This definitive weapon ranking chart just proves what I've assumed for the last three alphas. Despite TFP's attempt to make STR the definitive OP tree AGI reigns supreme. All the S Tier weaponry besides the steel knucks are Agility weapons.
Knuckles are agility weapons too lol
Next do a tier list of hats, tops, pants, gloves, boots, perk trees, vehicles, food/drinks, and traps.
"this won't be one of those lists where everything is in A and F tier"
>>>puts so many things in A tier it overflows into B tier
Agility might be the only tree where the ranged weapon from the third tier is still worth keeping in the loadout when you get the fourth tier, even capped. An smg and dulture pair so well.
I'm playin insane on the 8k map and I use the switchback horde base. And the stun baton is awesome for knocking back zed heads and saving the damage on your base. But in general I agree with your assessment of the weapons/tools. Luv yer chit keep up the great work b safe my luv to u and yours
If primitive bow got A tier for being amazing early game, Toilet Pistol needs A for the same reason.
Very informative video dude! Thanks!
"You can't use pointy rounds in a lever action." [laughs in Winchester Model 1895]
Most would say you can't use pointy rounds in a tube mag.... [laughs in Lebel Model 1886]
Still, I'd agree that the lever action in game should have been in the agility tree, and the mag fed hunting rifle should be brought back for 7.62.
My drone is definitely an A tier because i have the jawoodle drone voice mod. Makes me laugh so much hearing jawoodle yell at me when zombies are near
As a new player to the game this was super helpful. Thank you.
It's his opinion my dude, maybe go outside and touch grass
@@chromecypher Relax my dude, it's just my opinion, and you seem to be reading so much more into it than I wrote into it.
@@craigbporter no, steel knuckles is far better
I honestly didn't even realize the flashlight was a weapon at all. I never use it...ever.
"Demolition only challenge??" Grenades + Rocket Launcher only!
He did a demo's only challenge not all that long ago :)
but it wasn't grenades & frockets only.
@kathrynck not the demo zombies, Demolition skills (explosives and rocket launcher only)
@@TheNuttybrewer Ahh, I see what you did there now. Demo skills vs Demo zombies. That could be cool.
josh you should come up with a type of testing out gameplay where you test out one branch of weapon each week without changing the difficulty, or maybe only changing the difficulty AFTER you've tested all the weapons out. no permadeath or penalties for dying, just coming back to the same stuff to test out the next weapon branch.
Auto Shotgun is a straight S tier weapon to me brother. That gun hits like a train, and with a big mag. its unstoppable !!
the tachy boy is actually quite good if you put a single shot mod on it and use it like you would use the sniper. I'd choose it over the M60 tbh.
Also You should do a skill book tier list, from top priority to last.
Stun baton is by far the best melee weapon in the game. You’re crazy for not having it in the S tier, by itself.
its not the best melee weapon, thats just your opinion
so you're saying he should knock down knuckles from S tier? yeah no, thats not happening. Because knuckles are the best lol
It absolutely is not lol.
Unless you're playing on easy mode, in which case it still isn't.
You are SO loud! lol But I LOVE the energy :) Keep it up!
It's funny how the sledge hammer gets worse and worse when you have a "better" version.
in all fairness , the drone isn't a weapon in any capacity and could be left out, the torch on the other hand could have been included to the melee list.
I personally love arming and then throwing timed charges onto zombies. It's fun.
I was hovering over the dislike if the stun baton was actually going to be in the toilet tier. My only changes would be lowering the stone sledge hammer one tier, robot lowered one tier, raise the m60 to s tier, and raise auto-shotgun up one tier.
Our little Woodle has finally grown up.
Desert Vulture is ELITE!!!!
S Tier, has penetration and insta decap.......
Only thing holding it back is ammo limit.
"I'm tryna get it in and I'm strugglin"...
Not the first time you've said that?
Gotta say, someone tested the silence capability of the guns a while back. Think it was at 1.0 release or A21. The pipe shotgun for all its crap, was the quietest gun you could put a silencer on. Imagine assassin rolling with a hot bar full of pipe shotguns and never waking a zombie once
Ok that toilet had me dying 😂
Only those chosen by destiny can occupy such an exclusive position.
" That's a mouthful " " I'm trying to get it in, But I'm struggling " - JaWoodle December 2024
Also That's what she said
Can't help myself...IF you have the books, when you have the perks.... it's the stun baton all over again ;)
with your rules. you should have pushed everything down a tier and moved 3 out of S into A. Remember tier lists F doesnt mean bad. it just means its worse then the rest
Should have finished up with the Traps. There's not a ton of variety but between turrets, spikes, etc. they would have fit well into this format.
The SMG w/drum mag and AP rounds is a God level!
Sledges & Pipe shotties only series when? :P
What do we have to do to get a nail gun mod? Headshots only and it takes like 6 shots.
The stun baton is by far the best melee weapon at high difficulty, simply because of the crowd control+ 10% onehit chance with the perks
No. Stun baton is bad for high difficulties
@sauronikov9254 would you elaborate?
@@maggi98mwtoo slow at killing. And its dmg sucks
@@maggi98mwif it did more dmg than it might be S tier
It 100% is not lol.
Only thing its good at is crowd control, it's absolute garbage at actually killing them though.
Solid real world lever action info.
We need a mod where if you shoot a Z in the foot/leg with a nailgun they're stuck in place because they're nailed to the floor.
Molotovs are easy F tier. Why would you want a throwable that does nothing but light you on fire? XD
I remember when JaWoodle gave the rocket launcher to his NPCs lol
