Great instructions, calming and slow while providing an easy/challenging experience. Definitely require more of these videos.

Erin, I want to thank you for doing such wonderful classes!
You showed me that Yoga is not just strange people sitting around and breathing.
It all started with your 30-Day-Challenge. Now, two years later, hardly a day goes by without me doing Yoga.
Thank you so much for bringing this to my life!

+memyself andI So much this though!! I feel like she makes it so accessible and fun. She's helped me develop my own routines and really made me want to study yoga. Even my husband does a bit of Yoga everyday to help with his back pain, it's so much worse without it.

For me it helped with my headaches. I tried everything from and Yoga has been the first thing to make me feel better ^_^

I performed this particular exercise right after doing 7-Day Yoga Challenge, Day 5: Yoga Backbends & Wheel Pose (Intermediate/Advanced)... great combination! I'm having some lower back muscle spasm or tightness for a couple of months now... this after a year long recovery issue with a puled hamstring/glute. I've been doing yoga for now, gotta be closing in on two years. I lift weights, bike, and run as well... been a bad year with these two muscle issues. Doctor sending me to physical therapy... he says I'm his healthiest patient and that I do everything right... but he says I'm starting to show signs of aging. Thanks doc! Lol Erin, it seems that you show me different things in every video... love them all! Thank you so much!

That felt so good!! I know this was for hips and hamstrings, but the forward fold definitely opened up my spine as well! I almost felt lightheaded when I came out of it! Thanks Erin :)

I've grown quite fond of doing this routine on days after I go for a run in the morning - it gets to areas of my hips, lower back, and knees that I've made all tight again and loosens them back up.

  • @andreagardner1
    @andreagardner1 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

That felt so great! During that forward fold, my back felt so tight. The center of my back felt really tense. It was interesting. I've never felt that before.

I would choose the root canal 😉 Thanks for the great workout Erin. Enjoyable and humbling one for me 👌

This is definitely one of my favourite routines, I enjoy stretching my hips/legs a lot, so I love double pigeon, I could sit in it all day. I'm adding this to my regular practise for sure!
I just want to add that the forward fold always tortured me in Gym class. I had instructions literally - physically - push me past my limits and severely hurt my hamstrings because of it, and I've always avoided any version of that stretch. Thank you for explaining things clearly, so those at any level can get something useful out of your routines without hurting ourselves. I never thought I was capable of folding/touching my toes - but you always help me realize that one day I will, with a little patience and practise :)

I love double pigeon. I can't sit upright and my knees aren't anywhere near flat but I know I'll feel better once I can. it's all about progression and a man like me with super tight hips is ideal candidate to test it out!

Suuuuper tight when doing pigeon, I can only get my ankle onto my calf, nowhere near by knee! It's crazy tough so I'm in camp 2 for sure. Love your videos so much, thank you! -Genevieve (not Dan, ha!)

Wow, I never noticed that before -- exhales helped my hips open so much during double pigeon which I am not crazy about. I would rather do chair, another pose that I do not like -- than double pigeon. Thank you so much.

So the double pigeon feels more like a root canal to me. But I can feel that my body needs that stretch. I had to lean back this time, but I'll continue to work on it. I want to do that pose & I want it to feel as easy as you make it look! 😀

I'm the same, plus my top knee points practically straight up at the ceiling the entire time. I'm really hoping practice will make it easier!

Double pigeon is my favorite video game playing sit 😄 Still working on getting the top knee down but no rush! Wide leg sit is not my favorite... I know that sometimes when sitting in staff or in an easy sit that spitting on a block is recommended to help lengthen the back... Could this be done in wide leg sit too? Guess it doesn't hurt to try. Thank you so much, enjoying this series!

Hi Erin!! I NEED to know where these pants are from! They are absolutely adorable and I've tried Googling "black yoga leggings with mesh cutouts" but, surprise surprise, nothing comes up! :)

Oh, and I love pigeon poses! They hurt a bit at first, but after a couple of breaths I can sink in comfortably.

The double pigeon pose, that is actually the way I normally sit in during meditation or whilst on bed and stuff. 😂😂😂😂 I'm more comfortable in it than I am while during sitting with crossed legs.

Is a tingling sensation, like pins and needles almost good or bad when stretching? I felt it when doing the second hamstring pose walking the hands forward.

Double pigeon hurts so bad. For some reason, I feel a lot of tension in my knees when I attempt it...on the other hand, I like trying to challenge myself a bit because I know that with time that stretch will only become easier.

Pigeon pose kills my knees, hate doing it. I do it but I hate it.

Keep in mind, you don't HAVE to do it. Try reclined pigeon! It might help with the knees.

I know how beneficial double pigeon is for my hips but I hate it, it hurts like an absolute bastard 😂 I have the tightest hips in the world, though!

You don't have to do it!! Or there are plenty of modifications for it!!
