There was this one furry kid at my middle school who was OBSESSED with his fursona. He literally came to school in his fursuit every day. Including in PICTURE DAY. They wouldn’t let him keep the head on for his photo and he threw a huge fit. He called his mom, who was involved in the PTA like it was her full time job, and she came to the school and threw such a Karen fit that, not only did they let him keep his costume on, but they MADE HIS FURSONA THE SCHOOL MASCOT. Everyone was mad at first but ended up getting super into it, and would all show up to pep rallies and school games in homemade fursuits of the fursona (including me. Guilty!)
This is true, im currently going to this school. Apparently the guy tried to sue the school for “copyright infringement” and “plagiarism” (really he just wanted to get some extra cash) he lost the lawsuit of course but it’s still a kinda funny story. A funny new phenomenon that's been happening within my tumblr circle lately is another bout of fake stories everywhere, but specifically made to be much more believable. That and the fact that we got through 2012 and that means everyone is clearly able to spot a fake story means that a lot of people are falling for this shit and I love it. There was a post where a mutual of mine invented an entire Bible verse that implied Jesus is trans and hundreds of thousands of people fell for it. Another person wrote up a several hundred word essay on some old cartoon from the 80s and how the two showrunners both had a creative rivalry on where the show went/were gay married the entire time that was just completely invented with fake screenshots of Wikipedia pages to back it up. Very recently after Our Flag Means Death started picking up someone managed to trick a bunch of people into thinking that there's subtext in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies that implies Jack Sparrow and Barbossa are bitter exes. We're entering a new age of tumblr fake stories and I'm so excited

There was this one furry kid at my middle school who was OBSESSED with his fursona. He literally came to school in his fursuit every day. Including in PICTURE DAY. They wouldn’t let him keep the head on for his photo and he threw a huge fit. He called his mom, who was involved in the PTA like it was her full time job, and she came to the school and threw such a Karen fit that, not only did they let him keep his costume on, but they MADE HIS FURSONA THE SCHOOL MASCOT. Everyone was mad at first but ended up getting super into it, and would all show up to pep rallies and school games in homemade fursuits of the fursona (including me. Guilty!)

A funny new phenomenon that's been happening within my tumblr circle lately is another bout of fake stories everywhere, but specifically made to be much more believable. That and the fact that we got through 2012 and that means everyone is clearly able to spot a fake story means that a lot of people are falling for this shit and I love it. There was a post where a mutual of mine invented an entire Bible verse that implied Jesus is trans and hundreds of thousands of people fell for it. Another person wrote up a several hundred word essay on some old cartoon from the 80s and how the two showrunners both had a creative rivalry on where the show went/were gay married the entire time that was just completely invented with fake screenshots of Wikipedia pages to back it up. Very recently after Our Flag Means Death started picking up someone managed to trick a bunch of people into thinking that there's subtext in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies that implies Jack Sparrow and Barbossa are bitter exes.
