Definitely agree Chris should keep this in his videos 👍👍 the jag is a really nice car cant wait to see it finished and a road trip with mat in the vantage both amazing cars
Regarding to bonnet/hood You can fit any bumper from a AWD car, only RDW have different hood, Difference is only the inner heat shield, that You can transfer from yours (SVR uses heatshield on bonnet and others use heatshield on top of the SC) hood (EDIT: sorry I inicialy typed bumper instead of hood).
Great video. Looking forward to this build with the car being of short supply in this country. And I liked the last section of the video 👏🏻 keep up the good work
Thanks for sharing all the unglamorous bits of finding parts. I understand the struggle, trying to get parts for my Honda cr125 and they’re 20 years old now and only a 2 year run. Great video
I've rebuilt a few written off cars now, and yeah, the hardest part by far is sourcing (the correct!) parts, the stripping and rebuilding bit is the easy part!
Thank you! Not bored at all, please do show the back ground searching as it's fascinating. Further to this, it would be really good to have a total of parts as you go forward. You may not want to divulge fully, but it is quite interesting. I dread pranging my v6 now!!!
I am in the states now and will be flying back in a week and half, can easy bring back some parts if that helps. I work here on a boat so my bags are fairly empty as stuff stays on the boat (incase your wondering)
Hey Chris great video good to see some body doing somthing a bit different by sorcing your parts and showing people who have never done it how to go about most chanels just go i need this and the parts are just there keep up the good work cant wait for the next one cheers
Chris have a look at Harper's jaguar based in USA but have a fantastic parts page where you customise your search to model ,year etc great exploded diagrams with part nos and prices (scary) I used em on my rebuild.
The first part of the part number is the prefix. If the prefix ends in an ‘M’ (e.g HX5M) that means is an SVR specific part 👍 if it doesn’t then that means it’s a normal/core F type part.
Great content - love the ftype it’s a great car, owned one myself. Really interesting to watch you ordering parts too. Looking forward to the next instalment.
Regarding the dashboard - make sure you buy an F-Type dash with the extended leather pack. Otherwise you’ll get a dashboard with the wrong leather type.
@@Chris_Slix it’s literally just a different/cheaper material I believe, like a leatherette material. It really does make a difference. I think all facelift cars 2018 plus has the extended leather dash
All I can say is Good Luck Chris. This looks like a mammoth task in sourcing the correct parts. Loved the behind the scenes bit it’s interesting to see how you go about getting the parts 👍
5:33 you're a detailer you say? I wouldn't have guessed with the Hex lights and wall mounted lights in your garage... 😉 When you showed the car in the garage just before this I did kinda think "that's more a detailing garage than a mechanical one"
Is the damage on the front light just the plastic mounting tabs? If it is you can repair/make the tabs out of abs plastic and plastic weld them on with a soldering iron. I did this on my car, the tabs look the same as the factory ones and they are actually stronger as I built up the plastic behind the tab. Once the weld was sanded you can't tell the difference between the factory tabs and the fabricated ones, its strong as when the plastic melts and cools its essentially becomes one part rather than using glue which is not as strong. A couple of hours work but well worth it against the price of a new headlight.
Great video with some helpful info for other car builders, maybe the reason why the front wheels are more expensive is that the other cars met the same demon as yours 😳😳💪💪💪
EBay bit was far from boring, interesting train of thought on part numbers too, Mat does the same, like the lambo indicator off the ford focus. Don’t bank transfer anything, unless it’s family don’t trust anyone
I always really enjoy your honest videos , would a jaguar dealer help with part numbers and information on parts you may need to save you any time , keep up the great videos ..
Great video Chris, interesting chasing the parts, reminds me of my first job in the parts dept of a local garage( in the days before the internet). Are your headlights totally shot or can you source lug repair kits. Always great content in your videos . You must’ve had a good role model. This’ll be a great car when you’re finished
You should of just went to someone in Bradford mate. You’d of had that steering rack for half the price in half the time👀🤣🤣. Doing a good job though. Is the caddy coming back!? All the Touran bits bolt on to it front end dash interior carpets etc. get it done! Be a good watch😬
Id come back with no shoes 🤣 strangely enough thats where those cheap headlights are 🤔 and maybe one day soon! Life is manic at the moment doing videos and with the business so doing my best to get ontop of things
Did you have any luck selling your steering rack, if your looking for some parts ask on f type owners or Tim Bolson or the forum, if it's ready for April 1st get to Gaydon, 10yr anniversary, good luck ,great content.
I did see the anniversary meet but im not sure itll be ready for then but if it is (painted or not) i will try and bring it before i go and get 200mph on the autobahn 🤣
0:52 For the non-UK viewers, that certainly isn’t clips of Birmingham 😂. Think of what a city would look like if you dropped a nuke on it, then covered it in napalm. That’s marginally nicer than the reality of Birmingham.
Great video Chris. Loved the run down of buying bits off eBay. Gives a a bit more insight of what you have to go through for the builds.
Definitely agree Chris should keep this in his videos 👍👍 the jag is a really nice car cant wait to see it finished and a road trip with mat in the vantage both amazing cars
You can buy head light bracket repair kits btw, bit of an expense to replace a whole headlight for a couple of plastic brackets
Hey man! You are crushing it! I know how it is searching the net for parts on your Jag! Cant wait for your next Vid! 👍
Absolute nightmares 😅🤣
@@Chris_Slix It will be worth it when its all done though! I know your going to kill it! And I cant wait to see it! 👍
@@Chris_Slix chatgpt?

Glad you enjoyed it!
Really enjoyed this video! I did like the last few minutes where you’re searching for parts. Very interesting. Keep it up Chris!
Cracking video Chris, liked the buying parts bit too
Thanks for sharing all the unglamorous bits of finding parts. I understand the struggle, trying to get parts for my Honda cr125 and they’re 20 years old now and only a 2 year run. Great video
Hi mate. Im a tech at jaguar/landrover dealership just call a dealership and give them the vin and you can get all the part numbers you need.
Always wanted a f type svr after been in a few of them so watching u rebuild this is epic
Great video Chris.Good luck with the build.

Brilliant video Chris 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Keep up the good content Chris and love the insight into finding parts can wait for this build to fully start it’s gonna be great car when all done.👍🏻
Thank you Rob 🙏

Thanks peter!
Good video Chris - this is a key part of the projects, but takes up time .. great insight.
Enjoyed the parts breakdown. Good luck with the build
Chris have a look at Harper's jaguar based in USA but have a fantastic parts page where you customise your search to model ,year etc great exploded diagrams with part nos and prices (scary) I used em on my rebuild.
It's gonna look awesome 👌 when it's done! 👍👍👍👍
It definitely has a full titanium exhaust 👍🏻👍🏻

Great vid, showing the part hunting and thought process behind its very interesting 👌🏻
Good luck chris looking good so far 🙌🏻
Great stuff Chris. As I've mentioned before, your content and quality keeps getting better and better.
Really enjoying this series. Fantastic!
Much appreciated!
Loving this , thanks
Great content - love the ftype it’s a great car, owned one myself. Really interesting to watch you ordering parts too. Looking forward to the next instalment.
Good luck with this. Soon you will be catching up to Matt and over the 1 million subs
Go on lad 👏🏻 levelling up
Brilliant and no need to apologise
Another great video, mate 👍
Regarding the dashboard - make sure you buy an F-Type dash with the extended leather pack. Otherwise you’ll get a dashboard with the wrong leather type.
Whats the difference buddy? As i will probably only be keeping the panel with the airbag original
@@Chris_Slix it’s literally just a different/cheaper material I believe, like a leatherette material. It really does make a difference. I think all facelift cars 2018 plus has the extended leather dash

Love it, great content, really looking forward to this one, hope there are no hidden problems!!
Good video Chris. Totally enjoyed each part the breakdown was sound. All the best.
@1chrisslix1 Hey bro. Thank you very much.
5:33 you're a detailer you say? I wouldn't have guessed with the Hex lights and wall mounted lights in your garage... 😉
When you showed the car in the garage just before this I did kinda think "that's more a detailing garage than a mechanical one"
Really enjoyed this video Chris, nice to see what goes into rebuilding these cars
Great video Chris! 👍
Might need to do that list on the other side of the bonnet too 😂
Brilliant video Chris 👍🏻 loved the parts breakdown too
Great video keep up the great content 👌🏻
Great Video Chris, you should keep the Bonnet of Impending financial doom and add all the costs to it as well.

I enjoyed watching the back office activities of repairing the car. Well done 👍
Thanks so much 😊
Brilliant video Chris👍 it was a nice little extra add looking for parts 😀👍
Nice work Chris , great editing , especially the beach scene for Birmingham 😂
New sub love the vid and I liked the bit you did on ebay its good to see the bit behind the parts
Surely there is a diagram with part numbers on a website somewhere would save you having to go through each part
Enjoy the part finding bit. Keep it up
I liked the in depth part at the end of the video personally. I think you've left the security tag on your jumper though 😂
So glad I subscribed to this channel a few weeks ago as the content is great, cheers Chris.
Thanks Gareth! That means alot 😅
Great video with some helpful info for other car builders, maybe the reason why the front wheels are more expensive is that the other cars met the same demon as yours 😳😳💪💪💪
I think you are right!
Found you on Mats channel… followed you over here… keep up the work buddy I enjoyed the eBay shopping spree
It’s nice to see what goes on behind the scenes how you get the parts and good luck
Great video and great including the eBay buying of parts
Shagtastic video sir! Love the eBay segment too.
Getting there bit by bit! :)
Loving the videos great content 👌especially the break down on buying parts of eBay
I'm sure jag will do a headlight lug repair kit like most other cars do.
Great video Chris and enjoyed seeing the “ behind the scenes” clips 👍
Great video Chris 👍🏻
Cheers for sharing the parts ordering, something a bit different cant wait to see the build coming along 😀😀
EBay bit was far from boring, interesting train of thought on part numbers too, Mat does the same, like the lambo indicator off the ford focus. Don’t bank transfer anything, unless it’s family don’t trust anyone
This vid deserved a like and comment! Would be good to see a price comparison of the parts with Jaguar
I have made a fair bit of progress since filming i think you will find the result’s interesting!
Nice build and hope that breakers as more parts other just the plastic front wing bits. Would save you time and money
Thanks john! Stay tuned that side of things does get slightly more interesting
Get a mid rise scissor lift. Would make these jobs a lot easier. Doesn't take up space as i park my over it in the garage.
finding parts at good prices and keeping the budget low is very hard
I always really enjoy your honest videos , would a jaguar dealer help with part numbers and information on parts you may need to save you any time , keep up the great videos ..
Great video Chris can not wait to see this build :)
Great video Chris, interesting chasing the parts, reminds me of my first job in the parts dept of a local garage( in the days before the internet). Are your headlights totally shot or can you source lug repair kits. Always great content in your videos
. You must’ve had a good role model. This’ll be a great car when you’re finished
Great content again
Good luck with this build Chris 🤟🏻
Nice use of the DDE music 👍
Great video Chris! Especially to see what you actually have to do to source the parts in the first place.
good video. the end bit was interesting
Hope you get all your parts and fitted it's a mean car 🚙
Great video as always, and that list is looking 👀 scary hope everything isn’t to explode 🤯
Great video.. loving the updates and cant wait for the next one..

Hey Chris, really nice project.
If it would be an left-steering-drive, I would have been interested to buy it (Germany).
Good part supplier as well as EuroJags is Berkshire Jags
Did you have any luck selling your steering rack, if your looking for some parts ask on f type owners or Tim Bolson or the forum, if it's ready for April 1st get to Gaydon, 10yr anniversary, good luck ,great content.
I did see the anniversary meet but im not sure itll be ready for then but if it is (painted or not) i will try and bring it before i go and get 200mph on the autobahn 🤣
@Chris_Slix I've got a manual V6S 450bhp, planning the nurburgring ,had nearly 180mph, good luck getting on with it.👍
Great content mate. You've certainly not made it easy for yourself... But you & Mat never do! :)
Yea liked the eBay bit Chris I love ur channel
Appreciate it!
Great content Chris.
I liked the sourcing section on eBay
0:52 For the non-UK viewers, that certainly isn’t clips of Birmingham 😂. Think of what a city would look like if you dropped a nuke on it, then covered it in napalm. That’s marginally nicer than the reality of Birmingham.
Should be a good build Chris..looking forward to watching it progress 👍🏻
Thank you!
Get Mat to put some parts from the US in his hand luggage lol
I like seeing you finding the parts as well ..great episode
im assuming jaguar doesnt have a parts lists on their website for cars they have like toyota.
Just subscribed the content is amazing
Get matt to smuggle your us parts back when he goes back for the porche 🤣
There may be more that needs bringing back, all will be revealed soon 😅
This is going to be some project. Looking forward to the next episode 😃
Hope the parts come in quick so can get another video out.
Same! Im buzzing to get on with it
Nice vid Chris. The eBay bit was interesting, sourcing the parts is half the battle surely?
More than half i would say! Thank you 😊
Another good video 🚗🚙🚘👍👍👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️
Enjoyed it. I think you should get an external mic, there's a lot of echo inside the unit 👍
Im using one! Its a small space with hard surfaces, its hard to avoid ☹️ maybe some sound deadening material on the walls when the wallet allows!
