Well done Chris, it's so difficult making money restoring cars but that's not why we do it - it's for the love of cars, especially special cars like yours. Plus it's difficult to put price on the enjoyment and learning we get from the process of restoring a car that we love. Keep up the good work mate.
Glove box ... pretty sure the Jag has electric activated lock , touch sensitive button ...not a mechanical lock . Maybe needs a reset , faulty actuator / lock ?? There used to be a valet mode in the infotainment system that locked the glove box and electric boot ... worth checking . Jaguar Land Rover Retrofits may be able to shed some light , might be worth a phone call , very knowledgeable .
At a glance on my phone, it looked like the glovebox had the fixed loop, and the actual latch to hook onto that loop was in the dash. If that's the case, there's nothing to be wrong with the glove box itself. It's the latch side.
As you rightly acknowledge the key factor in builds of this type is enjoying the project and pride in doing it properly. Making money at the end is also an important element, but don't expect to make fortunes.
It might be a lot of money but I reckon that’s not a bad price. The new bits from Jag seemed cheaper than I was expecting. And you’ve ended up with a sublime car!
Absolutely great project Chris. Understand it’s not all about the profit. But you can’t put a price on the enjoyment you have given me and other petrol heads. You’re productions are getting better and you are becoming a great TH-camr!
The wheel well liners you have are missing the brake vents for the SVR. The different fender/wing for the SVR is to allow for functional brake vents. Without the vents in the liners, they won't work.
Check the wiring to the glove box, they are electrically controlled, maybe damaged wiring or not even plugged in 😂 and the latch is probably in the closed position, realised this after replacing the dash on my lads and had the battery already disconnected, had to reconnect battery to open it.
As a painter I am loving your channel man! I wouldn't worry if you're in the green, the build is all part of life's adventure and you've made memories you won't forget with each car, love it! Just need yellow jag centre caps now 😂
Don't worry Chris your moving in the right direction ..which is UP !! Why don't you raffle off the Jag like your mate Matt does that way you might be able to make an honest wage for all your labour ?? You at least deserve that for all the entertainment you've provided to us all.
It’s been a great build Chris. I have played around with salvage for along time now and it’s always sad when you put your heart into a rebuild and it financially doesn’t work. Salvage is now so expensive to buy it’s becoming not worth it unless you have a TH-cam channel lol. It’s getting to the point when they are repaired you might as well of brought a straight car, which is always easier to sell. Not to sure where the salvage market is going any more
Honestly baffles me that you only have 43.8k subs. The quality of content is awesome. It's about time Mat gave you a proper shoutout on his channel lol. Just need to find something else to rebuild that will hopefully be picked up by the algorithm as this was quite a niche build to be honest.
I’ve rebuilt a number of Cat cars and this you tube video has definitely made me keen to get the F type I’m looking at to rebuild . Great job. I could be in touch for some help 👍
It’s a stunning car Chris! Good job. People may say I need to get my brain checked, but I prefer this to the Aston 😅 I love the interior. Keep up the great content. You and Matt are inspiring me
Blue with dark grey wheels.... red or yellow callipers. Red are quite common so yellow was a good choice. Glovebox, a number of ppl (mostly with USA spec cars) are mentioning problems with it not opening where there is a few problems with the circuit for the release motor. Yours seems to have this problem but as it's already open, the top catch is stuck shut preventing the hoop on the door from engaging. From most of the talks its a "switch-->software-->release motor" to open the glovebox, which can be disrupted by low battery / car stuck in Valet mode? / faulty touch switch / faulty solenoid. Just a few things I could look into on one of my breaks. Get out on the road and enjoy the V8 goodness. that blue paint is just perfect for that car.
To fix the glove box, would say just fit it with some neodymium magnets to keep it stuck shut unless you actually pull the door to release it. Or just get rid of the door and fit it with some webbing / net.
❤Would absolutely love the jaguar unfortunately don't think I'm going to get one at my age 😢😂😂i had a 1986 xj6 20 years ago, but I love what you have done fixing the car excellent 🎉seat belts leave black 😂
Love this car and colour choices ....at the end of the day it's not about the money it's about the journey !! You , Mat and Tavarish have inspired me , so bought a BMW z3 and having a go with a TH-cam channel as well , you've alot to answer for 🤣, great video 👍👍
I’m not a big fan of coloured belts but I don’t mind them with a line of colour stitching on either side as is gives the interior something without it being in your face
Chris it maybe a stupid question but is the glovebox lockable and if so is the lock in the locked position meaning it won’t then allow the glovebox to close. It’s probably something you have already tried but sometimes it’s the simple things we overlook 👍🇬🇧
With the cost of parts, that you've had significant amounts of freebies (not a criticism), free labour and your own of course, it makes you question the value of the original car? If you can't build it again with a margin, and remembering that a salvage title car won't achieve a price of a non-salvage one, have you proven that the insurance company right to write it off? Where is the value in the original salvage? Is it to break for spares? As rebuilding the car hasn't resulted in a car significantly cheaper than buying a non-salvage one. It really comes down to that salvage price. However, past the financial side, it looks terrific and I'm glad you've got such an iconic car in a superb colour back on the road.
I'd fire that bulkhead back in the van mate - those wheels fly forward in an accident and it's goodnight Vienna - appreciate they're only plastic but better than nothing.
Powder coat fluoro orange wheels and fluoro orange calipers with fluoro blue / titanium anodised oil slick bolts and hardware. Obviously. Because race spec - shows dirt and damage like nothing else.
hello chris, i would like to know what exactly color code is that you use for wheels ? as i would like to paint mine same 😉 loving your channel and im longer time subscriber 🤝

This comment sums it up perfectly! Thank you!

Such an excellent build and series. It's not all about the money mate. Your content is getting better all the time. This channel is superb
It’s all about the money mate or he wouldn’t do it & upload it to TH-cam…
Absolutely great project Chris. Understand it’s not all about the profit. But you can’t put a price on the enjoyment you have given me and other petrol heads. You’re productions are getting better and you are becoming a great TH-camr!
Excellent build, it did get pricey. Like you say though everything is in the open for the next owner. Crippling financial reality, love it

You’ve done an amazing job chris you should be super proud of yourself mate

This is true. Not easy.
Love the yellow with that lovely blue, makes it look rich, keep up the good work Chris 👍🏻

Yellows touches are nice.
Chris you have a bargin . Even at £48K for a 2018 SVR 15K miles that is cheap. They are now around the £60k mark .
Great set of videos
The channel is growing rapidly!!!
Super build Chris …… profit or loss 🤷🏻♂️who cares.
You put your heart and soul in it that’s what counts cracking results hands down🎉
Car looks sick.. the yellow callipers and belts. 🙌 the spec I would go for!
Nice one Chris , the SVR looks great , well worth the effort . looking forward to the next build.
It’s a stunning car Chris! Good job. People may say I need to get my brain checked, but I prefer this to the Aston 😅 I love the interior. Keep up the great content. You and Matt are inspiring me
Brilliant video chri’s constantly progressing love it
Great videos, it was expensive but what a result, brilliant. 👍👍👍👍
Stunning car Chris looks an absolute beast. Interesting to see what you bring to the channel next

Thx Chris love your channel x 😊😊😊 great too see it through I’d buy it but the fuel cost is way too much 😢
Smashed it mate .
Looks great
Absolute baller of a car man! You should be proud of that! Great effort! Great content!
❤Would absolutely love the jaguar unfortunately don't think I'm going to get one at my age 😢😂😂i had a 1986 xj6 20 years ago, but I love what you have done fixing the car excellent 🎉seat belts leave black 😂
Loving the yellow belts. Cracking build too pal 👏
Ive thoroughly enjoyed this series as i fancy doing an F type rebuild myself however it will be a V6 as i aint got 44k! Subscribed thanks.

Keep going mate. No doubt your channel will blow up
Good job 👏 keep pushing mate
I love the blue its really a head Turner
Love the wheels, callipers and belts 👌🏼👌🏼
Done a proper job on the jag, nice work Chris 💪👍🏻
Its great your so honest mate. I wouldnt get another limited addition again if i was you. Oh, and thanks Liam!! 😅
Still love the content profit or not, and you now have a beautiful svr to enjoy 😉
Good work Chris, it’s not so much about the money (although that’s nice eh !) you did a proper job on the car. 👊
Yellow belts fire mate
Don’t lie to him
It’s been a great build Chris. Enjoyed this one immensely..what’s next though? 👍🏻
Well done Chris it's a amazing car
Hi Chris- the car looks great! The yellow brakes and seat belts look perfect. How about a Raffle rather than a sale??
Great build! What have you got planned next?
Boss build Chris, top work mate❤❤❤
Yellow against the blue was a great shout
Nice effort on this one Chris :) Amazing transformation.
Love this car and colour choices ....at the end of the day it's not about the money it's about the journey !! You , Mat and Tavarish have inspired me , so bought a BMW z3 and having a go with a TH-cam channel as well , you've alot to answer for 🤣, great video 👍👍
Awesome build and it a keeper. As the value will go up. As big engine sports car will all go EV.
Epic job Chris, the car looks amazing...
Well done Chris, stunning car
Bro made his own version of a Matt Armstrong vid, i like matt so good jon keep up the good work you have some nice video’s
I’m not a big fan of coloured belts but I don’t mind them with a line of colour stitching on either side as is gives the interior something without it being in your face
Awesome build mate 👍🏻
Roadtrip please!!!!!!!
Chris it maybe a stupid question but is the glovebox lockable and if so is the lock in the locked position meaning it won’t then allow the glovebox to close. It’s probably something you have already tried but sometimes it’s the simple things we overlook 👍🇬🇧
Belts look quality Chris!
There is right hand drive 2017 in that exact color combo being sold for about 70K dollars. 15K miles.

Thanks for the videos bud keep cracking on
Good work Chris get on the next one
kriss loves blue and yellow😭😭🙏🏼
I'd fire that bulkhead back in the van mate - those wheels fly forward in an accident and it's goodnight Vienna - appreciate they're only plastic but better than nothing.
Looking good m8 yellow stands out mint 👍👍👍👍
Powder coat fluoro orange wheels and fluoro orange calipers with fluoro blue / titanium anodised oil slick bolts and hardware. Obviously. Because race spec - shows dirt and damage like nothing else.
It’s the latch that’s the issue Chris not the glovebox! You easily have a minimum £10k profit mate which is respectable imo
Great to see an Ftype put back to life. But its always going to be a Cat s and worth a Lot less than the Red one
Love the belts 👍 you were behind me the other day in the i30 scaring the Leicestershire wildlife 😂
Not a fan of the seatbelts but i'd sacrifice one of the glove boxes and cut the top open, maybe the dash is stopping it latching?
Delighted for you Chris. But no word on the screen saying boooompahhh lol
Black seat belts with blue stitching would've been nice
It’s most likely the latch in the dash not locking against the glove box
Top man
Nice work everyone 👍 👌
as a Ukrainian I approve the yellow calipers with the blue body color 🔵🟡
It's alot of car for the money Chris well played mate
Lovely job and another good video 🚗🚙🚘👍👍👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👏👏👏👏👏
My first guess for the glove box would be the switch it's electronic
Been waiting for this vid, nice.
hello chris, i would like to know what exactly color code is that you use for wheels ? as i would like to paint mine same 😉 loving your channel and im longer time subscriber 🤝
Hi, can you tell me the ceramic coating that you used for your wheels please ?
Can we get some detailing vids buddy👀👌🏻
Ouch. Looks a nice car but it has a damage history so worth a lot less than a damaged one,
What's the best lacquer to use on calipers from a rattle can?
Auction it off gd build looks A1 😊
Is the dashboard twisted from the crash so the glovebox latch isn't catching?
Brill mate
BOOMPAH!
Good build but if you want fastback for your efforts don't choose a rare CD to find bits for......lesson for future.
Yes bro keep it up 💪💪
P.s shoulda come to me for that paint job, 3.6k is pretty high man
Hayfever killing you too bro??🤣
44 grand is honestly not that bad
Would have been quicker to remove the calipers 😊
I need my i30n fix 🤚🏻
