I found a Laguna Seca Blue E46 BMW M3 abandoned on the side of a race track last year. I bought it and decided to restore it, working through all the common problems and some not so common problems. Now the car is ALMOST complete i was invited over by @Drivetribe to the smallest cog workshop so Richard Hammond and his team could check it over and give there opinion on it. What an opportunity!

How could you not, anyone who grew up watching Top Gear is bound to have a fond spot for Hammond, May and Clarkson……and Richard is a really down to earth guy.
What I will say is that my impression of Richard Hammond before this was that he is a down to earth guy that knows all about cars and engineering. For him to get involved with this channel which hasn't got a million subscribers yet but soon will have. To me proves that he is exactly what I already thought top man. Great footage thanks.

I got the opposite impression, it felt like this was a contractual obligation for him and he just winged it, he was acting a bit elite with what he said and how we carried himself. It didn’t look like much was offered in terms of him giving up a lot of his time for this. His team looked over the car which took an hour and Richard probably gave 10 mins of filming then went back to his day to day. Mat deserves more

First let me say I've been a fan this channel for a while and really appreciate the enthusiasm you bring to restoring and modifying automobiles. Massive props Mat. Big fan! With that said, I'd like to state that one of these days it would be truly awesome to see Mat along with Richard Hammond and James May doing a show where they review cars from around the world and give their impressions from restored mint, restomod and full blown custom. I think the dynamic would be so fun to witness! Just imagine!

Just found you Matt. Love the videos. The rear abs sensor was a lot of money and was damaged because the abs ring had expanded due to corrosion. The new one isn't going to last long.

just a tiny tip here: put aviation sealant on the wheel bearing hubs, not grease as it won't last long and actually make it harder to remove the bearing later. it turns to something like clay, as does anti-seize compound.

Can see Hammond's Chevrolet and Clarkson's Le-Seyde in the reflection of the VW from the latest Grand Tour at 10:30, no wonder you weren't allowed to film behind you!
Just a heads up they are non M3 wheel hubs/bearings that you fitted. They will fit the stub axles, as they did but are incorrect for the car. For one they are missing the locating lugs. 🤷♂️

I recently started watching your content and with the M3 build .. getting Hammond involved.. I was super excited.. it’s awesome.
Man, this is just cool. As everyone, I am a big fan of Hammond and the well-known trio and also Mike. I have also been watching your videos for some time now. It is just so cool to see the two types of car content-making worlds between someone like Hammond who is part of one of the biggest car TV series of all time and someone like you who emerged via TH-cam. The videos you guys did are great and the whole idea of this is just so cool. Congrats! Also.. what other car could have been better for this than the legendary e46 M3...
Beautifull car !! I do have one issue with those LEDs. The computer is thinking that if the light bulb doesn't draw power, it is burned. An LED will draw less power, therefore the computer thinks it is burned. The "error free LED" will draw power to compensate so that you can have an LED with no error. The problem tho is that it will get crazzy hot and it will probably burn thru the plastic and smoke away and it will haze the entire headlight. It will burn your headlights. Hope it won't. The correct way is to use the normal LED, and find someone to program the computer so that it knows it runs on those. I hope you see this comment and take action before it is too late, or i hope you won't run into this problem. Great video!!!
@4:20 it's the same, just check the buttom side and it will be inverted for every part (left one top is the right one buttom and so on). It just doesn't matter in what orientation you put them.
