I just heated the Versa 2, ran along the edge with a small razor knife that has a handle, pulled the glass out with a suction cup. Could have just pulled right out without the razor being needed I am not sure, trying to help others be safe and not cut a finger off to change this battery! lol Otherwise thank you for the video it was very helpful to replace my battery, being close up and a great resolution made for a perfect guide. Again Thank you for the post!

Great video. Thanks for uploading it. My Versa 2 died due to sweat finding its way in and I'm pretty sure I would find the same damage if I took it apart. This video only goes to show how badly made these watches are. The innards are not protected from humidity at all, there is no failsafe if the sealing fails, which it does, very frequently.

I also didnt know how bad these watches are and went into the pool with it, never had a watch die due to swimming before even timex from the 80s wouldnt die from water
Mine is probably suffering from water damage/ sweat damage as well. Used to keep a cover on to protect screen, but I think that made hold water in instead. Now my Fitbit doesn’t respond to the button, but literally everything else works! I hate to send it in for a warranty repair or buy a new one bc it hasn’t even been a year! My previous FBCharge worked forever- I lost it in the woods somehow didn’t notice, & I’m so sad about it still! 😂 oh well. Poorly made crap.
We saw you disassemble and reassemble the fitbit and it worked. What was done to remedy the water damage? Did you just clean with contact cleaner? Were parts replaced?

what is the second thinner cable/connector from the screen to the main board? I just replaced my battery (thx to this video) and the screen touch won't work now. wondering if it's this cable. fortunately my older versa 2 (died after 1 month) was still around and that screen works.

How does the side button get connected? I'm trying to figure out how to replace it since mine stopped working. I can't find any replacement parts but I do have another fitbit that i might be able to use for parts

I'll try this, but using the heated plate on my 3D printer. Not too sure about the temperature yet. Will update this, if I get it working.

Great video. My 2.5 year old versa2 is working fine. My problem is that the hole where the watch band pin goes into the body has cracked and the pin wont stay seated. I plan to buy a broken versa2 and swap the body. I saw in the video that you didn't completely remove all of the components from the body. Can those also be removed and placed in the body of the broken versa2 that I will buy? Thank you
The bottom sensor part removing is too difficult, if you buy broken versa, then use the same sensor from broken one only, rest you can use your

Do you know if it’s possible to repair or replace the heart rate sensor? I’ve tried restarting and factory reset but it still doesn’t work
I had a similar issue. It started with my Versa 2 randomly restarting and the heart rate randomly not working. After a factory reset it got worse, and it seemed very likely that after a reboot when it put the heart rate sensor on, it would cause a reboot loop. I force a bunch of shutdowns and reboots. Now the heart rate sensor no longer comes on, but I no longer have a reboot loop.
So right now, pretty much is only useful for steps. It can track floors. It cannot track sleep, or heart rate. It also cannot track steps in details, only per day.
My issue happened soon after I accepted the terms of the new Irregular heart rhythm notifications. I also let it get wet a more that I typically would. I have a feeling the Versa 2 is defective and does not hold up to the water resistance rating given. From this video, I wonder if there is a flaw in the charging that causes abnormal wear and tear and lets water eventually leak in.
Do you know if it's possible to fix the button not working? It doesn't do anything on my Versa 2.
How about a Versa 2 which works but no longer records SP02 nor active heart rate the green light no longer flashes, is this likely due to water/sweat ingress. I have swam in the ocean w watch as well as showered with it, my future Fitbit Charge 5 will not see water, mine lasted just over a 1.5 year before the SPO2 and heart rate monitor failed or stopped working. I will see what happens opening and cleaning if this will restore functionality
How did this workout for you? I’m having the same issue and it’s never been in water.
Same problem right now with my Versa 2. The green light isn't flashing, no SpO2 and sleep measurements... It's pretty frustrating, since I bought my Versa 2 especially for sleep monitoring. Every other function works fine.. The device gave up after 25 months of service, just 1 mo after the warranty deadline.

Stupid question but say the vibrating feature on my versa 2 doesn’t work anymore (I’ve been through the settings, it just doesn’t work). Would there be a way to possibly replace that hardware inside the watch?
Yes, we can change the vibration motor, but we have to find one from used versa.

2. How long do I heat the glass before I use the razor ? Should I use the highest heat setting?
Wait to drain the battery completely, bcos once you open, u can't access the battery connector. First you need to remove the display, then only u can access battery
You can give medium heat... Don't give too much heat... Lightly on the edges for 3 to 4 rounds

My Fitbit versa 2 does not turn on when you press the button but turns on when connected to the charger and shows 100% charge but when you take it off the charger it switches off again …

Getting battery is difficult now days because of China (Aliexpress )issue,
If you are looking for fitness go for Garmin, or looking for smartwatch go for Samsung... Its my suggestion

Didn't show how to glue the screen back on. You removed all the glue that held the screen on.. Now what.

You can use this glue, when i shoot this video I don't have good glue to stick it back. That's the reason I didn't show.
T-7000 is the best glue for stick the watch, it should be waterproof and we can repair back easily when ever we want

if you are getting lag after resetting also may be a board complaint. Generally versa is laggy as per my opinion.
