Had bad constipation the last 3 weeks. GI Dr office told me take Miralax, which was totally useless for me personally, did not help at all. Now using a tall glass of half prune juice and half water with Metamucil mixed in, and a probiotic pill every nite. Seems to be helping so far ...
My problems all started after my gallbladder was removed, I was having some right side pain around my stomach, went in and found out I had a stone and they removed it, after that I had issues using the restroom, found out I had IBS, first it was D and fast forward to now it’s started C for as long as I can remember! I honestly think with my gallbladder being removed that has caused the ibs.
Hi there, thanks for this video. Miralax created mood swings in my otherwise sweetheart of a 4 year old daughter. Tantrums that come out of nowhere three times a day to an unmanageable point. It was so scary that we couldn’t even recognize our own daughter. After 9 months of Miralax prescribed by her doctor, I discovered articles about these side effects while searching for alternative constipation relief and took her off of it immediately. After a few days we had our girl back and the tantrums and mood swings disappeared. I was crying tears of relief since we were convinced it was a behavioral disorder and that she needed to see a psychologist for ADHD or ODD or something neurological. It was scary and unmanageable and now our girl is back to her sweet self. I don’t know how much permanent damage it can potentially cause but for now we’re so much happier with Lactulose and magnesium citrate since they don’t contain PEG although lactulose can create dependency. What else would you recommend for a 4 year old? She has severe constipation like it creates bloody fissures and she cries in pain sometimes poor thing is only 4! I’ve tried coconut oil, increased fluid and fibre, more activity, tummy massage… She just recently got some blood work done to test for celiac and other digestive problems. She’s now developed a fear of her poop and started withholding due to this past trauma around it. It’s been a nightmare so anything specific you might recommend? -Thanks from Canada!
Magnesium, vitamin B12, and ask the GI doctor if she might have a GI condition. I had to deal with constipation as a kid and it was no fun. Try to fin ways that she won't have to withhold, encourage her that it won't be so bad. Try to relax her if you can.
This is awesome but will do absolutely nothing for patients on opiates or suboxone. Wish I could find a way that wasn’t doing more harm than good. Got of suboxone almost a full year ago successfully tapered all the way off. And to this day still can’t have a bowel movement without the use of stool softeners
What was helpful was information about what causes constipation and why. I can relate it to myself as when I was a kid I had chronic constipation that hurt bad. I also like the recipe for the mixture of everything, have to cope with the apricot taste. I enjoy honey, that will help the taste. Usually drink plenty of water and get my body moving.

Looking for help for my 19 mo old grand daughter who suffers with pretty severe constipation. She only has a BM once every couple of days and it is rock hard. The pediatrician recommended Miralax and Milk of Magnesia. I haven't given her Miralax because I didn't want to create dependence but I have used Milk of Magnesia, coconut oil in her fruit and butter too. They help a little. I also don't give her grains, only meat, veggies and fruit. I'm sure dairy milk isn't helping but I hesitated using almond milk infusion because almonds are high in oxalates. I'll give your recipe a try, thanks!

Does it work with chronic constipation? I got periods of time where I don't poop for months (3 months at times) and drinking any liquids hurt my bladder so bad ( bladder condition that doctors can't find) miralax is causing cramping for weeks without letting me poop at all. I can't eat many fruits either without it killing my bladder and due to my autism I don't like a lot foods. What can I do to empty my intestines? (I'm really backed up from not pooping for months. I'm 15 currently and I read up on the harms of miralax before I came across this video and hearing you confirm exactly what I read is making me do more research. The recipe we do is absolutely all ingredients easy to get anywhere! And every tip includes a food option as well as supplements. Our biggest priority is to empower viewers and improve their health...when dealing with a chronic symptom often supplements are required especially when looking to reduce OTC and Rx.
I saw only one recipe and did not see or hear about anything else to do. Did you have them in another video?
@@chinkyfist6655 they mentioned leafy greens, vegetables, nuts and seeds, phytofiber, movement, b vitamins, b12 specifically, magnesium, not eating inflammatory foods like gluten or dairy, probiotics. I disagree with the part about dairy. Eating high quality, less processed dairy is healthy. Plenty of things were mentioned though.
When during the day do you recommend taking the the mixture? Also I have diabetes, thoughts on the sugar amount?
