Amazing guides as always, would like to see a technical "Macro" guide on when to pull vills when you have a certain resource floating and overall tips to improve resource macro ❤
For the people who are also struggling with hitting the timings. The solution is probably to sort the villagers to a max of 3 on 1 sheep early on. This gives such a massive boost to the gathering. Even though I played plenty of AOE2 and that was key there I totally forgot it. It makes a 30 seconds difference in early aggresion which is a huge advantage.
I have a question. I've learned this and your 2TC build order for French, which has worked great! Can I use both builds against every civ, or does this suit some matchups while the 2TC suit other matchups? Thanks for all the great content btw, really helpful!
Great Video, love your guides. I see you winning Tournaments against Marine Lord and Beasty in the future. One Question, does the range attack Upgrade infects the dmg of buildings like tower and TC arrows?
@@Thefrabur91 yes and ship arrows and keep arrows. Lol. Steeled arrow says all arrows and bolts. I think it doesn't cover springald or mangos (they have siege attack) but it does count toward springald or mango tower emplacements.
Hello there first of all, i like your guides about specific playstyles, while i am not playing french like, at all, it is interesting to see what i should expect or at least keep in mind when going up against them, so your guides are super helpful in that regard as well Something unrelated to the video.. i have around 60 hours playtime which was mostly against bots (sometimes with friends) and want to get into online, is it ok for new players to start or will i get blasted by smurfs/high rank players because there might be too few low rank players (like me)?
If you have just 60h and none spent in competitive online play, you are very likely to experience losses. That being said, the ranking system pits you against average players and below if you lose placements. I recommend putting the game theory presented on this channel into practice. If you are willing to pay as well, then a coaching session also see new players skip parts of that initial tough learning period
@@Valdemar1902 So long as i get matched with people in similar ranks i am fine with it Was a bit worried it might be like league of legends where no matter what rank you would have smurfs sneaking their way in, which makes it quite frustrating for beginners I will keep the coaching in mind, for now i am going to try my luck on a few games and see how well (or not) i'm doing with my current level, could be interesting to have a comparison later on Thanks for replying and have a good day :P
woah ok, why build a lumber mill before touching any of your straggler trees? I'd shift click through the three straggler trees, that is 450 wood this will get you a blacksmith eariler which for French means a free damage upgrade as the knights start to harrass. Or in the case of this build the archery range faster. Is the walk time on the straggler trees too much?
I think the economic landmark is always Good most of the Time. With 5 free traders you can 2tc faster and you can then rush impérial âge once you get feudal map control
Need help against mongols tower rush as France. When i open with archers, they follow with x2 keshisk and continue to increase the army non stop into wood line while trading slowly. So hard to catch up with their army (x2 with stone) while protect my vills from towers.
Mongols is a tough matchup, but what comes to mind is to actually counterpush with your knights instead of desperately trying to deal with the towers. They will tower up your gold, so personally I'd try to preemptively protect it with a tower of my own, or otherwise sneak out some villagers to take a distant gold vein. Mongols primarily play agressive, but have terrible defenses in their own base due to lack of walls.
Can the 8th villiager build the house on their way to the gold mine? That way you can choose to leave a farm right without adding walk time? It can't be important to get the house ealier? or is it important to not stall a gold vil vs a food one? I might try it both ways a couple times and see if one is faster to age up. vil 8 or even 9 building the house wouldn't leave you housing locked ...
Why put the house directly next to tc? I usually leave a space for farms around my tc for when I transition later on. I see a lot of pros putting house directly next to tc and can never figure out why
Of course you could play aggressive but Rus makes it very easy to defend your resources. The Kremlin and the better walls make it so easy to just go eco and raid when you can.
Your knights should do just fine. They counter Nest of Bees pretty well, and deal good damage to palace guards (and also outrun them). If both of you are in castle, you can get some arbalétriers to deal with their palace guards even more effectively, but you gotta keep these away from the Nest of Bees while your knights walk around and snipe those.
do not understand english guys going 2tc against french if french does not go for 2tc, it is just better to go full agro with spears/longbows rush and maybe tower in front to gain attack speed bonus
Hey Valdemar, please don't go down the Drongo-route. Your video title is not technically wrong, but it insinuates actual aggression at 3:40 although it is the common 4:40-5:00 first knight. Your content is stellar and I hope you can find success without playing the exaggarative TH-cam-Game.
The point of the build is the very quick 3:40 feudal age-up with a knight in queue (at no tc idle time) so there is no clickbait (there never is in my videos). Hopefully that clarifies it
4:00 age up or later is normal for French. The title is well put. 3:40 age up which does happen here is rediculous and very impressive to start a first knight.
@@Valdemar1902100% agree, most French BOs out there age up a bit slower and get wheelbarrow. When I saw your title I thought how is he going to age up at 3:40 and start building a knight immediately but you show it can be done. I didn’t think how are you going to get a knight in a person’s base at that time because it’s obviously impossible!
You do a
great job breaking this stuff down man!

Thanks for breaking it down. I bought this game to play with my friends. I usually play the aggressive strats. This has helped me a lot!

I still kinda like to go for early wheelbarrow because moving vill´s around costs resources
I build mill when i start to age to feudal to have the wheel barrow asap
And ill have enough to produce a knight directly as aging
At what point do you get Chivalry? I couldn't find it in the guide. Thanks!
Then you switch to 2 or even 3 tc that's very smart mate

Isn't it better to get out the low hp Knight's so they can heal with the tech later ? They would have done less damage but come back full hp ?
What do you do if they are only 1 TC?
Any advice on French late game?
Can you do this for HRE soon!? 🙏
you make me realize rts are made for players like you
Anybody test this with the trade LM ?
Hey valdemar, what do you think about French CoC landmark? In which case it can be used, since it is kind of cheaper TC2 due to polyvalent traders
Never tried that although i play only french since i started this game like 4months ago but used to play aoe II but i prefer a knight on traders first

Building it close minimizes idle time and with french, the last thing you want to do is make farms.
@@Valdemar1902 thank you for the explanation!
Any reason for French instead of JD? Kind of wanted to play a bit of French, myself. Wasn't sure if JD is just the better option though.
French has better eco, since JD has been nerfed to the ground, French is kind of viable, but still not great atm.😂
