How about a Guide to Decision Making? Pointing out for every civ what the key scouting points are. Example: Scout Mongols at 4:00 and at 6:30. When you see no gold at 4:00 then expect A if you see 2 on gold then B etc... So telling us when its important to scout, what we might see and what our reaction should be. I struggle that when i scout at a random time and see a random barrack to know what the meening of that is. Shift clicking queues actions for your units. For example if you had a scout and wanted him to kill deer in order, you shift + click the deer in the order you want him to kill them in. A + click is "attack move." Attack move orders your selected units to move to the spot you click on, while engaging enemy units they encounter on the way. Attack move is far more effective than simply right clicking any enemy unit because it ensures that your units attack every enemy soldier they see instead of just going for one. One drawback of attack move is that your units don't prioritize more dangerous units/buildings, so they can get sidetrack chasing down enemy vills and burning down houses etc etc.
What about ram spam? My most sucessful strategy has been Knights+Horse archers Rus into Imperial ram spam from the high armory. I've notieced a large majority of people can't respond to it well due to how supply effecient rams are. They either focus on my knights/horse archers and I start to kite/distract while the rams lay waste to their base, or they go after my rams and they can barely even hurt the rams before my army gets rid of them. It's very wood dependent but I dump almost all my vills on wood and kinda just all-in and it almost always works for me. But what is the counter? This comp wins me games against people that are way above my elo and I feel no other strategy comes close to feeling this OP. I notice most people start spamming spears into this and try to micro into destroying rams while also fighting knights if they get close, but the horse archers punish them as soon as they focus on rams and it's really easy to just kite around if spears start trying to fight the cav. Sometimes if the enemy has something ridiculous like really heavy gunpowder it fends me off but for the most part the rams are just overwhelming and overrun everything. basically the feudal Rock Paper Scissor combos are cav spear > cav archer > archer spear and then the castle Rock Paper Scissors goes knight horsemen > maa archer > crossbow spear. Horsemen being interchangeable with mangonel and crossbow being interchangeable with hand cannoneers.
Not really accurate, horsemen dont do well against mass of archers/crossbow. They do well against them in small armies. No, if you don't have MAA, he said there are 2 counters. The 2nd one is cavalry+archer. You need to run around with you cavalry to get the archer and use archers to kill the spears. As an English player, I find it very hard to fight against knight civ like france (generally, hoseman+archers), since micro of spear+longbow is much harder than bows+knights. France archers can just F2A the floor, although shooting spearman is better, but with low APM, shooting at longbows is still worth it. I started with Chinese when the game released, because I love defensive playstyle with walls and towers. But the civ felt kind of lacking in early game and lacks resources in late game. I also don't really like the tax collector system. Lately I've been learning French but not a fan of how easily they get countered by spears. What would you recommend? I was thinking going maybe HRE, or Dehli or Abbasid. But maybe with the new civs things will get better. I'm not convinced I want to give the devs any more money though the game was expensive af and they didn't deliver on a good map editor which was the main thing I was waiting for all along. The map editor we have is super laggy on my low specs and hard to use overall I just want something simple to paint landscape and chill not a full game studio tool... I hope the new maps will be good, I am all for more landscape tactics, I downvote all the flat maps lol. I also wish they would let people queue larger maps in multiplayer for instance large map in 1v1. PS: with French I struggle to match my opponent in production speed vs strength of unit and very often my troops die a lot faster than my opponent's which keeps me on production timer while getting rolled over. It's not even a resources issue I play coc economy very well but I really fall short in battles and my 30k stone walls are useless against one lil trebuchet if I can't contest forever. The royal knights are really bad at multi targetting they get in the way of each other a lot I find playing with archers and siege a lot stronger. The micro guide would help me for sure. Map specific main strategies overview and tips would be a nice series too.
I use french and english as main, but recently I started with abassid. Loved the eco abassid gives, it's crazy and it has a lot of upgrades that are fun to explore. Plus you don't worry about which Landmark to build and your trades give in an additional resource with an upgrade. You should try them
From what you state here, I see a couple of problem (I'll ignore the fact that you bought the game just to complain about the map editor alone = not worth your money but whatever" first thing is you trade (by trade here = yours VS enemy losses) is not good, you said your Army die faster then look if your Army got Counter or lack Upgrade Second, this might be a bit weird but you playing French but downvote any flat Maps, that will kill your army for sure. for experience player it might not be a problem but it's a problem when you can't move your Cavalry around in time because the enemy keep dodging up and down the hills. Third, Siege engine meant to destroy a turtle strategy especially Trebuchet, if you plan to Stay Turtle all day you'll die by Treb spam in the end since the range is longer than you can counter and you didn't push it back. In the end, it's up to the experience, just play more, lose and learn.
French knights are the strongest in game with free dmg upgrade and selfheal upgrade, play aggressive, try to kill enemy villagers and use bows for support against spears. Also you have knights in Age 2, while most other civs have them in Age 3. You just have to go into Age 2 within 5 mins, go mainly on gold and food with your villagers and pump out the knights.

@@chrisnewtownnsw Yes could work. When it comes to composition I find the scouting part very difficult too. I played as 3 TC French vs 3 TC Abbasid the other day. He went cav so I went pikes, easy. Then I had to focus on so many things I didn’t see he pivoted to mass pikes / mango. My pike / knights / got eaten so fast I didn’t understand what was happening (elo D2/D3)
@@anonymeanonyme9755 maa and spaced out archer combo would eat mango spear. Or just maa
@@anonymeanonyme9755At the end of the day if you're not scouting or being aggressive you're the reactor, advantage will always be to the attacker unless you blindly got lucky with the counter.
now tell us how to defeat 50 streltsy + mangos + rus springalds.
Mango+culverin, Chinese hand cannons, mass archers with heavily delayed late horseman charge/flank
Mongol springalds
You should try them
God damn this isn't a youtube comment this is a youtube story.
word im not reading all that bro@@kejadventures241
From what you state here, I see a couple of problem (I'll ignore the fact that you bought the game just to complain about the map editor alone = not worth your money but whatever"
first thing is you trade (by trade here = yours VS enemy losses) is not good, you said your Army die faster then look if your Army got Counter or lack Upgrade
Second, this might be a bit weird but you playing French but downvote any flat Maps, that will kill your army for sure. for experience player it might not be a problem but it's a problem when you can't move your Cavalry around in time because the enemy keep dodging up and down the hills.

Horsemen / men at arms as enlish best combo in age 2
Indeed, I really agree ! Without knights, I don't know how to counter this comp in age 2 ! Did you have opponents who have found solutions ?
@@bastienm347horses are meta in this game. If you want to win most games, make horsem/knights and mangonels. Maybe 10-15 pikemen to help stop enemy horse charges. Got me to diamond rank doing this.
Me: a mongol empire enjoyer
When in doubt heavy cavalry crosbow and siege it out
LETS KEE *pop* going!
Please make a counter video for the currently over used ghulam spam. I understand denying stone and, knights and crossbowmen counter ghulam. But in practice it doesn't feel so straight forward
yeah, its hard to deny stone when they have enough for the 2nd tc within seconds of aging up. trying to learn how to deal with the boom as well.
@@terence7009 I figured out the best way to counter this ghulam rush shit is to run knights. The abbassid rush with the ghulam is only really effective against the knight less civs
Anyone want to write this all down somewhere lol?
🔥
hre imp horseman are knights XD
Why am I watching this. I only play team games and always just build mass knights xD Also the other players also mainly just mass one unit and add siedge
I end up losing to my opponent because im respecting the fact that he will counter my 2 unit comp when in fact he retardedly masses one unit.
No one knows how to counter MAA in age 2 with abbasid xD No knight, no crossbow, no solution
If u get infinite amount of resources and like 100 production buildings fighting in a choke point, Ottoman prob always win, cuz their infinite great bombards and they never die, they got infinite lancers to shield their bombards, infinite jannisary to repair their bambards, and infinite mangos + springs+ ribaus to combo with bombards. Their seige combo kills everything. Even Chinese seige can't beat those infinite great bombard combo cuz Chinese seige got heavily nerfed, Chinese bambard range tech got replaced and health got halved. Nest of bees only get 8 range which is shorter than mangos. When Ottoman get infinites resources, they kill everything, it doesnt matter what u make. Springs and anti-seige cannot do anything when they got that mass. Before u springs can do real damage, their great bombards+mangos+ribaus already killed hundreds. Even u get like 40x srpings vs 30x great bombards or 40x mangos, same population, u will lose. And knights cannot even get pass their frontline, not to mention they have mether buffs.
Man you gotta try to cut out your keyboard clicks it's so bad
I'm sorry u may be knowledgeable but I can't stand the way you make the content. sotl, hera etc make things much clearer and don't need 30 min of yapping
