I just picked up a bomber and I did the incision links all around and I put a 16turn reedy motor because I already know I dont like the axial 35 turn lol. I want to go brushless next but I'm going to wait for my vanquish order and beef it up a little more before switching to brushless. I think I told you before I'm the guy that actually wrapped that bomber in real life for savvy, the logo on the inside of the rear wheel well on the side panel Versatile wraps is our company so this model is kinda special to me lol.

With rock race crawl mode the drag brake percentage on the basic tab doesn’t control your drag brake. It controls when the crawler reverse is unlocked via crawl mode by reaching the desired drag brake setting and your aux wire still controls the drag brake.
For example, in channel 4 you can set the drag brake to 60% via basic tab but on the lowest setting you will get zero drag brake with double reverse, in the middle setting you will get 50% drag brake with double reverse, and in the top setting you will get 100% drag brake(or whatever your epa is set to) and since it’s higher than 60% you have instant crawler reverse.
That’s nice for getting a little drag brake in bash mode when you want it.

I use the flysky gt5 and mamba x but i use channel 5 or 6 for the aux wire to control the drag brake so i have more control over it.

You have this Bomber set up and performing nice here. It’s a long way from stock. If the Bomber performed like this out of the box, I might be more interested in picking one up. But, with the price of the RTR, plus all the mods, the price tag gets too high for me to want to go for it right now.
Do you know if the Holmes hobbies puller pro 540L size would fit in this rig?

ESC fitment in the Bomber is tight. The slots on the Rx box are too far forward: that is your forward limit not your midpoint. The battery compartment is the conflict, especially if you want to run 3S.
Yeah I ran into that on the V1 I had. It barely fits in there as it is now.
@@ExocagedRC esc easy to mount where the shift servo would go for a 2 speed. just make a plate to screw into the servo mounting holes

Are you using the stock pinion and spur? I have the Hobbywing AXE 3300kv in my bomber with a 18T pinion. Still waiting for my sway bars tho. She's got wayyyy too much torque twist without them. Enjoying your builds dude!

enjoy your channel, your review of hammer rey is main reason I bought one. Question I have a bomber, I enjoy it but its so slow. Could I get the tekin motor without the esc I will only run it on 2s?
at thiis point I'd go castle or hobbywing for that vehicle

How'd you settup the 4th channel? And what settings do you have on the gyro for the Bomber?
Just plug it into Ch4 on the receiver. Not sure if I reversed it or not. I’m running 35 on steering gain, 0 on throttle gain and 75% priority.
So I am looking to buy the ESC and Motor for my Bomber....its a stock RTR at the moment. Can I control the "crawler" and "race" modes from the stock controller? Do I have to buy anything else besides the motor and esc to have those modes available to me? I like the idea of having 2 modes, kinda like a 2 speed tranny in my mind.
You may need a new controller for that. Just about any 3ch radio will work for that

Stock pinion, I believe it had either a 1500mah or 3000mah Helios battery for this, probably the bigger one

Probably too big for the sport but I’m sure you can cut and make them fit.
Are you using the 2 speed transmission components or just controlling the speed with the esc?
stock single speed, yeah esc does all the work

Got a castle 1410 3800kv green can with mamba x... I broke an axle housing and bent they drive shaft within 5 minutes!

Excellent video! If you get a chance, throw a GPS on it and let us know the top speed please? And is that still all stock gearing? And yes, I know top speed isn't really what a rig like the bomber is really about, just want to know. Mine has a Mamba X/Holmes 2700kv with stock gears but overdrive on front axle. 21 it where it topped out. On 3s, haven't dropped the 4s in it yet LoL.
All stock gearing. I haven’t gps’d it but I’d guess 15mph. Maybe.
