Great video! Sway bars are awesome.....but there’s no free lunch....better for beating, but articulation Will be affected. Which is why we use quick disconnects on hardcore 1:1 vehicles😎
Keep this the budget crawler it is, and use a $20-30 motor to start the upgrade....then progress to a brushless set-up if warranted (or just desired). Not everyone can pop for a $150+ upgrade vs a Hw1080/Holmes hobby upgrade at $85~. More upgrade progression videos for you too😎.

I have metal links on the way, still undecided on which rear lowe links to use.

1:13 Good notes on the link angles fore & aft. I have only encountered inversion on mine during maintenance (disassembly/assembly), and generally only at the rear.
P.S. I am here today for the show & tell, before installing another one on another Bomber.
Wow, that is the biggest change in performance I've ever seen in one of your comparisons yet! When you eventually upgrade that motor, would be interesting to see if you end up with enough wheel speed to get up the sand pile you were stuck on.
Yeah it’ll get it. I’ll be using a yet to be released to the public motor from Holmes. Can’t say more but it will be available in a few weeks and it should only be $20.

Those really helped the twist and didn't hurt the crawl as bad as I figured. Is like to see some budget brushless comparisons b4 you go all out. Lol
Man what a difference that made, I unfortunately have had bad luck with the few Hot Racing products I have bought in the past.

Hi Joe. Like the sway bar mod and comparison. I did the Reef's on the back of mine. To pick up a little top end, I went Mamba X and Holmes 3500kv. GPS says 20mph on 3s with all stock gearing. Tweak the throttle curve and it crawls fine down low and slow, but squeeze the trigger and it is moving now. Incision SS links fixed the rubber band steering link problem. As expected, the Spectrum servo is getting vague and the shaft is starting to wobble. Trip 777 coming to a Bomber near me soon! LoL Keep them coming!

Sup Exo... I idid go brushless with my Bomber because of scale reasons... as you know, the Bomber exists as a full size vehicle which is designed to go fast in the dessert and jump big tabletop jumps they have on the course and then also have the gearing and horsepower to rock crawl up some really steep sections worthy of a hardcore crewler. So I thought mine should be able to do the same thing with the same feel. So I installed the Axial 2 speed kit alongside a Mamba x and Holmes Hobbies 3800 kv Trailmaster Pro brushless motor. (2 pole vs 4 pole on a Puller Pro) and I personally love it. It gives me all the speed and torque I want and makes it and even more well rounded go anywhere and do anything kind of rig. I know it totally blows your thoughts for a low budget though. Thanks! Love your channel!
I installed a mamba x with the castle slate 2850 and on 3s its got power to spare.I only installed the swaybar on the rear and after 2+ years never felt the need for a front.Excellent video by the way.I'm building a new project and plan to try a holmes 11t w/ hw 1080.

Im running a hobbywing xr10 pro 160 amp esc with a holmes puller pro 4500kv on my bomber. I have the low speed needed for crawling and high speed when needed on 3s. Nice vid by the way. Keep it up.
I put an axial bar on the rear of my version 1.
But i did use hot racings 2 speed w a brushed 35. Good nuff

Thank's Joe I really like those sway bars for my brushless upgrades I installed a Holms Hobbies 3300kv TMP with a mamba X esc stock spur 17t pinnion it's fast now with great low end torque control for crawling trail mode is awesome just a flick of a button for sport mode great video 😉👍
Put the Titan 775 motor with the HOBBYWING 880 dual! That thing will be MINNNNNNTTTT
I did the hot racing wraith sway bars on a mutt truck I built. They were fairly good quality. But I had a little trouble with the torsen bar egging out the hole. Tighten and locktite over and over, until the hole looked like an 8. On a crawler would be fine, but custom smt 10 with mamba x, I need something even stronger, freestyle rc or reefs I guess.

@@ExocagedRC only my own fault, overpowered, over weight, testing the limits. Maybe bashing a little hard. I gotta go 1 more step. No rc is bulletproof.
It was a hard decision between getting a bomber or a Capra. I went with the Capra because I already have a fast basher in my trx6 MMX puller pro r 4100kv rig and wanted a really good rock crawler. Plus I have a bunch of 1.9 wheel junk. But the bomber looks awesome.
1/8 scale motors fit in bomber with ease.i have Castle Sidewinder 1/8 in one,and Castle slate with mamba X 1/10 in other
I got a older one in a package deal and it te to get it going And I see those sway bars are a must and I was looking to go brushless Holmes puller pro 3200ish and mamba x

Try the horizon hobby onyx motor. I use it in my stampede, and I really like it! I've only used it on 2s, so it will be a lot faster on 3s. Give it a try and see what you think.

Castle Sidewinder4 and an outrunner or 6pole Tenshock motor! Or give it a 2speed transmission so it can have both wheel speed and slow crawl ability!
I’ve had the ten shock 6 pole motors in the past, they run well.
Exocaged RC sounds like a plan! I’d consider those a budget brushless system

I did a video with Swaybars on the Wendigo using a Reefs Swaybar in the back and moving the stock Swaybar to the front. It worked out well. And yeah it’s getting a mamba x soon.
Exocaged RC yep, I seen that one too. I actually have a reefs kit on the way for my wendigo. Then it’ll be ready for mamba x and 1415 2400kv castle motor. You are the reason I even got the wendigo. Love it!

Id say a Hobbywing Max 10 4000 kV with a. 16T pinion. You can run either 2S or 3S.
Unless it’s an axe I’ve yet to find a brushless HW esc that likes to crawl.
@@ExocagedRC Ok I thought you was looking to go fast. Then the the Hobbywing Xr10 Justock with the 10.5 turn combo for $99 is a awesome budget combo. The firmware allows for 100% drag brake.

That would work fine but I have something else in mind.
Maybe try an axial 21t to keep the budget down.
Can you try a Yeah Racing Hackmoto V2 low turn motor and Hobbywing 1080?

Can’t get the rear “bar” through the holes in the plastic frame pieces for anything. Did you have issues with this?
Why does the bomber twist so much but the Capra does not? What’s the difference? Just more power or is it completely different suspension?
Axle ratios. The bomber is 3-1 and the Capra is about 7.4-1. The 3-1 puts more torque on the driveshaft to turn the tires, that torque is put into the chassis through the transmission and that’s why it has so much torque twist
Exocaged RC oh okay. Did you put that ratio in it or is a bomber that way stock? Every video I’ve seen of the bomber it twists like crazy.
Did you use the hard bar on both front and back?
yes, I went as stiff as possible, I can see using the other bar on the front if I were going to crawl more with it.
When putting a faster motor & esc, any gear changes needed?
Depends on the motor. I’m going to try whatever I put in with the stock pinion and see how the temps do

@@ExocagedRC I think that new shelves and overall a new look would be cool. I think we could all agree that you need to sit instead of stand while in the shop bc you record a lot of vids. I think that new shelves would be nice along with different accents like lights, tools, etc. Just my opinion.
How does it affect crawlers mode
If I were to crawl I’d use just the rear and leave the front alone

I have a problem I hope you can answer when I run my car with my LiPO batteries and brushless motor setup it runs for the first minute or so and then shuts off I have to turn my ESC off and turn it back on for it to run again when it shuts down I still have steering so I'm not losing all power but I'm only losing power to the motor is there some advice I can get from you
what esc are you using?
May be battery safety cut off! Is possible if using a small battery.
I figured it out guys thank you for replying to my question I just realized you guys tried to help so I appreciate that the problem was when I was programming my ESC I set the temperature to threshold way too low and so as soon as it started heating up it would shut down what I did to solve my problem was I did a factory reset so I made all my settings go back to factory settings on what they put on my ESC for me and everything seems to work great I do need to go back in to do a little bit of fine-tuning on my programming to make like the burst throttle works a little bit harder and other than that it's a one man runs perfect now thank you
