Loving the one handed controller, I've just had one 3d printed. Bomber has always been appealing, just needs soo many upgrades out the box. But I still would like to add one to my fleet one day.

I took delivery of my 'Savvy' Bomber last week. Speed is fine for my 'rock garden' course so I'm vacillating over the need for an anti-sway-bar. I agree steering links need to be metal for more precise crawling(The 'flexible' plastic ones serve as a servo saver for more 'violent' driving styles). The axle pumpkins need skid-plates IMHO, and a 5.25" x1.5" piece of cardboard covers the 'hole' in the battery box and allows for the "short" battery packs to be safely run.
yup I used a thin piece of bent plastic for the battery tray and run a 1400MaH, 3 cell, 11.1V, 25C with 50C burst battery. Only about 50-60 mins of battery life but they are nice and light so I carry an extra and allows universal batteries as those are what I run in my TRX 4 and TRX 6 to keep the CG down.
Nice Bomber! Some good first upgrades for you to think about- Servo, vanquish/Incision links including steering,servo mount since the stock flexes so much. Beef tubes for inside the axles it will add strength.. I did all that to my original Bomber and it was a beast! I ran 2.2 Rockbeast and Hyrax tires and it was a monster on the rocks! If you plan to crawl swap the rear trailing arms for high clearance links.
That rig is well worth its needed upgrades, handles fine and looks like it might still be able to handle with Power! At least you know the tie rod won't snaapaaah!

@@ExocagedRC I put the vanquish titanium steering links on my "1st" gen years ago along with the 2 speed trans conversation and love both. Plus I'll never destroy those steering links I hope.

I ordered the Bomber 2.0 as soon as I saw the first video of it, It definitely needs some more motor. Te steering links are kind of silly. that one handed driving on the Transmitter is so awesome!!! Great Video man!!!
I've watched enough of your vids to know you love speed and power. I have a feeling once you lower the cg, anti sway, links,big bore shocks, brushless system and any other kinks you won't be disappointed! I'd like to recommend the mamba x with paired with a 1410 3800kv CC green can and the reef's 500 raw servo. You'll need a servo that can take a beating, the bomber just delivers pure bashing fun!

I had this in the kit version with Tekin Roc 412 3100kv and 2 speed transmission. It would fly but it rolls over way too much for my liking. Needless to say the bomber didnt stay on my shelf too long. Replaced with a Capra and a traxxas maxx 😁

You need the Holmes puller pro 540L! Perfect motor for the bombers!
I'm jealous, my bomber is stuck in Cali and has been for a week now, I got a holmes puller pro stubby 3500, an reefs triple 7, I'll be swapping out that steering link with a black HR one and a Vanquish yeti sway bar kit, itll be interesting to see how it runs with those stock rims and tires with my new power system

I'd like to see that with a full crawler esc and motor swap and see how it crawls, and fix that horrendous steering of course...sidewinder 4 and a HH 540 revolver maybe, or a mamba x and castle slate.
But these days, for a company to release (re-release?) something with such glaring short comings vs it's competition is pretty sad.
I feel the same way about the re release of the SMT. But then again for some reason I kinda want one.

A few more features on that stock radio also.. has end point adjustments and receiver can be bound to the premium spektrum range like the dx5 Rugged as well I believe.

Seems pretty cool. I think I'm with some of the others under powered and terrible steering parts. I think that is the first time I have seen the dirt hill. That is a cool obstacle to play on.
Yeah it’s a first for everyone. I’m still working on the edit to get that video up. It took 3 weeks to get it all done. Granted I wasn’t working on it every day.
The "loopy loops" at the end would ave probably worked if you had first removed the spare tire. I think you should give it another try...after removing that spare tire.
Just stole a Bomber with the 2 day Flash Sale Thursday and Friday. 230.00 off the RTR is a hella kit I couldn't pass up. Had to put it on the CC. DAMN. but for 250.00 that's easily doable.

Yes! This might be my next truck. Need some thick sway bars though. It torque twists like the real ultra4 trucks. Which I like because I want my next vehicle to be quite realistic. I am thinking about a capra or this. I can’t help my self going a bit faster and bash crawling sometimes so this might be the truck for me. And I don’t have much crazy stuff except for this slanted rocky dam wall thing with tons of small and big rocks like everywhere. The capra would perform though

LoL yeah basic necessities for this IMO are a faster motor, swaybar and steering links. Then it would run well for the most part.
Exocaged RC yeah. It comes as a kit too right. So you could sort the motor out pretty quickly and 2 upgrades later and boom. I think I’m going to go for the capra though.

To save the servo. That's why they do every rtr with plastic links

Lancelot M if they used the metal link it would be too stong for the 15kg servo they use plastic link so they are not too strong on that tiny little weak servo

Great videos man been watching a lot of them! I picked up those mfr links for my udr, I’ll let you know if I ever get those usd stickies to fit haha. I’m looking to add one of these 2.2 rigs to my lineup. I’m thinking bomber, ryft or wendigo. Which one you think is best out the box? That redcat seems to have value and you seem to like it. Keep up the good work.
man oh man tough question, easy to say the ryft since its new but I don't see how you could wrong with any of those 3. Box stock I'd say the Ryft and Wendigo have an advantage.
Are you planning on upgrading the SCX24? I’ve done a lot of upgrades based on your videos of the bigger rcs and it has greatly improved and is one of my favorite rcs at the moment. Anyways great video as always dude.
Kinda disappointing tbh. I wanted to get this to replace my wltoys 12428 that has been heavily upgraded, but what I have now, greatly outperforms. I guess I could get it and swap all the parts over, but right now I can do 40+ mph over dirt on 3s, just in a smaller package. I have some thinking to do! Great vid as usual!
Do you think a Holmes hobbies crawl master 10 would be good with stock spur and a 13tooth pinion?
actually yeah, I ran the 8t CM Sport with success. This vehicle is best as brushless for durability IMO.
Am I the only one who got the Bomber for crawling? If I wanted fast I would go Slash or X-Max. Sway bar is a huge no no when crawling it, takes away all the rear axle twist. Went with Traxxas 9t pinion and Titan 21T 550, aluminum arms and steel links, made it way better

It normal that flexible I changed to stainless steel link work awesome now I have wraith, bomber ,scx10 and scx6 need 1/10 yeti used to have but sold it now want build yeti as ultra4
They better fix would be actually putting the wheel within thumb distance. Why does it need to be so far away anyways? I have an old FM Airtronics that is capable of being driven one handed from factory, because your thumb and reach the wheel. Also why are the controllers not waterproof???

I was under the impression that all you needed for the two speed is the servo and that the trans is good to go. Shift it manually ?
It has nothing for the 2 speed just like the first bomber. There is nothing different from the first bomber and this one
No you have to buy the 2 speed kit for the axial bomber/ yeti. Done this mod to my bomber and still didnt keep it

It can crawl but it’s best for hill climbing and bouncing hills IMO.

I agree. I was thinking the Bomber would cover the Capra and Ryft roles, but now it looks like owning the other two and skipping the Bomber makes sense. Twice the money, but less compromises.

Well in stock form it’s just not a good vehicle but with a few mods that I’ve done with it, I really love this truck now. Brushless, swaybars have made it an awesome vehicle.
Too many compromises for a $450 truck. I like my Capra, but Axial dropped the ball on this one.
@Ed H. I see bout $1700 in upgrades. $50 in links $20 in sway bar, $100 in electronic. Maybe do some research
@@urdonercjeremyburris7541 Research what? Axial would have offered a better product if they added the items you mentioned instead of paying licensing fees. That is all you are getting with this. If you are OK compromising function and performance for some branded stickers, be my guest.
@Andrew H. That's exactly what he meant. The 1700 was a typo. By adding the mentioned parts you got no ubertruck but a pretty good one.
Dude if you make it any faster it's gonna roll every turn and do yourself a favor and get a servo saver ASAP you won't regret it I went through like 4 on mine. It's my truck I hate to love!

I was on the fence with this one as well. I had one on backorder at HH. I cancelled and went with the Capra. The Bomber doesn't seem to be a great crawler and its certainly not a rock racer.
You made the right decision. I bought the bomber kit and it is a money pit and it likes to roll over way too damn much even with sway bars and wheel wideners

Less than 10 mph for a non-crawler. $450 for a brushed motor? Brushed rc's are about $200 tops.

Lol these guys complaining about lack of speed are the same guys that dump $500 into a 10ii you can easily swap a $15 Holmes 27t sport motor in the bomber... plastic tie rod is to prolong life of weak RTR servo. Axles are not smt10 axles, only the chubs which were revised for the smt10 to be stronger. While the revised bomber is lackluster the real let down release was the Capra/scx10iii...COG too high, crappy shocks, weak axle design, crappy build instructions, heavy body, too many gimmicks... bomber should have gotten a factory sway bar and universals out of the box. When will axial listen to the people..? 🤦🏻♂️
I can only imagine they'll do what Traxxas did, and have a cheaper paired down version like the trx4 sport. Harley in his video about the 10iii seemed to be hinting at a conventional straight axle edition too, we can hope.
Looks like this truck just kinda sucks all around. It isn't really good at anything other than when it's not moving.

You can tell you did 0% of research on this truck and that you never had a bomber before. The only thing different from the first bomber and this one is the front c hubs and steering knuckles, lights, wheels and tires, paint job

@@bobbob123ful I don’t have much first hand experience but i think if you want performance and a good blank canvas i would get a trx4 sport. I would much rather prefer a custom build with my own choice of parts and electronics but if i had to get a trx4 it would be the sport. But there are tons of other options too. Maybe you could get an element enduro trailwalker and put a nicer body on, some nice 1.9s and a pen spring mod and you would have a super capable rig, even better than a trx4. But it depends what you want to do and what you want out of a truck. There are tons of options and they are all great. Just don’t go cheap or china.👍

Axial was good company but after horizon hobby brought them up they're killing the brand..... Axial should make rock races and rock bouncers not losi... Losi have to stick with their racing DNA... Not making rock races because it sucks.... Axial Yeti was a good U4Rc standard rock racer... This should make another one to.... Because the specialized in that
