- There are a ton of drinks in the Fallout world, and we are going to look at a few specific kinds of beverages that are commonly found throughout the entire series. This has been re-edited and uploaded due to youtube silliness.

Absinthe has a common (though untrue) reputation as being hallucinogenic drink *hence the Perception S.P.E.C.I.A.L Buff is a play in that*
Absinthe used to contain hallocagens
Absinthe used to contain hallocagens
@@haroldcarfrey4206 No, it never did. I'm so sick of people touting is face without research. Technically, thujone in absinthe is psychoactive in that it can alter mood. It is a stimulant that can make you unpleasantly delirious. Small, but statistically significant psychoactive effects start at 100mg/L with standard doses for wormwood tea. GCMS has shown vintage and modern absinthes contain 5-10mg/L. You're looking at chugging 10-20 glasses AT ONCE just to hit the threshold dose. Chugging 15 standard drinks at once is easily alcohol poisoning territory. And that's just for the smallest statistically significant effect. At that point, you're going to be so drunk that a mild side effect will not even be remotely noticeable.
So... No. Absinthe really isn't hallucinogenic. Wormwood tea can be if drank in large quantities, but it is not pleasant and also not safe. It definitely isn't euphoric... More like dread, confusion, seizures, and nightmares. But again, this dose is ten to hundreds of times that in even a heavy absinthe session.
@@haroldcarfrey4206 Also it's spelt Hallucinogens, Harold
It all goes back to a few tryhard authors in the 19th century. Oscar Wilde would pound the stuff and then he would pound butts.
That jug the moonshine comes in is actually called a "demi-john" if anyone was curious or didn't know already. Great video as usual! Thank you ❤
Thank you for stating this. I didn't remember the name of that particular container.
Time to mix mustard gas sediment with water and some sugar and call it: Martini Sierra madre, and the slogan: For when you see everything black in your life just add a bit of spicy Red.
This the best comment I seen so far 😂😂😂
"Vodka does not have flavouring" ah so paint thinner isn't a flavour
Radioactive decay produces heat so perhaps the chunks of the ground up battery helps with the fermentation process.
Although I can't imagine that yeast like radiation unless yeast has evolved to cope with it.
well in fallout the radiation tends to grow things really big, so maybe it rises more than it did before the great war, like how radscorpians did, seems funny to think. they also tend to be dried which may also help keep it from being super radioactive, but i dont know much about that so somebody with more smarts would have to debunk that if im wrong, which is likely.
That's entirely possible. There's already fungus that can survive inside a nuclear reactor.
@@deathdeathrevolution3499 The gigantism that's found in fallout's creatures is caused by FEV, which was dispersed across the country when some facility holding the stuff got nuked
@@psyxypher3881 I wonder how that happened.
@@twistedyogertfungi are fun, and they're simple enough to not to suffer from radiation like we do. They do absorb radiation from atmosphere, so that's why wild boars in Germany are already radioactive
Just want to let you know that I appreciate a creator re-editing old videos and will continue to support
thank you ~shed
fun fact you will never find a bottle of rum in fallout because the rum is always gone.
I have a pirate build just to walk up to all red-labeled bottles and go "Why's the rum gone?"
Look: if you're drinking moonshine made with fision battery fluid, you're gonna be built a little different. "Different" might mean an extra limb or be tankie AF. Haha
Also: I feel like mountain honey is a meade. But also, technically all moonshine is unaged whiskey. White liquor just hasn't been aged in barrels.
Theory: the perception bonus from absinthe may be due to the lore of writers and painters drinking it.
Love me some thujone poisoning in my drinks. Gives it that extra kick. Makes me wanna go all Van Gogh and 🔪 👂
@@bjarkiengelsson The amount of absinthe you'd have to drink to get thujone poisoning would kill you from alcohol poisoning anyway. Lol
@25:06 That last player crafted Tequila sounds more like what I would call T'kill'u...
@28:07 That Atomic Cocktail in FO: NV has been featured on the YT channel How To Drink just look up, (Fallout was great, but... | How to Drink) to find it. he gives his thoughts on the new Fallout TV show and he made the two drinks of that name one based on the in-game drink and the other one is the RL world drink from the 1950s. Another reason you may want to that video is he talks to the OG creator of Fallout the one and only Mr. Fallout himself, Timothy Cain.
"Just some gray liquid in a mason jar" I bet there's an anime figure in it.
I've always been fixated on the Atomic Cocktail as a favorite for my high tech centered characters. The glow, use of mentats in it's recipe, and atomic rocket bottle just makes it feel fitting. I'll probably never drink alcohol in my life, but I do have to wonder if any of the fruit based drinks are any good: non-alcoholic fruit drinks are a personal favorite of mine.
There's a very good chance I'd just collect the Atomic Cocktail bottles to use for other drinks. I like bottles and such that stand out with interesting designs.
Wouldn't the Dean Domino drink be the cloud residue condensated into a liquid and then possibly using the junk food as a sweetener while it also absorbs the more toxic materials?
As Eastern Europener: "special moonshine" usually refers to special vodka that is actually close to brandy.
I always managed to learn something I never expected to learn during your videos. For example, I now know significantly more about how to make rum
Your videos are really great to listen to while i'm at work. I learn a lot of lore and your videos always put me in a great mood.
thabkyou for being here for us Radking. Youre genuinely one of my favorite youtubers outthere rn. Just such a wonderful amazing channel with such great content
mm drinkimg mmmm alcol MMMMMMMMmmmmmm
(I believe rum was also found in FO4 but some kinda bug makes it never spawn.)
It does spawn it is just a lot less common
I think the lead belly perk would need to be required for imbibing a good number of these drinks.
Found your channel last week and been listening to your vids everyday at work since. Your intro is dope af.
Thank you for your amazing content radking
This man's voice is just 🤌 *chefs kiss* and his outro ❤️
25:19; I do have standards, I just wondered who would be so insane to drink alcohol mixed with Tick blood. And I thought the Fission Battery or the paint thinner was disgusting.
Honestly, that sounds like something Mongols would drink. They've been drinking horse blood alcohol for centuries. Obviously, drinking something likely to give you a disease is a bad idea, unless std's aren't a thing in fallout.
Absinthe has increased perception because it’s suppose to make u see stuff when u drink it
Love these videos
Great video as always
Amazing video, atom bless you ⚛️
The dirty wastelander joke gave me a pretty good laugh
Maybe the cloud quickens fermentation, given junk food is potato crisps, it could be THOSE giving the liquor to the margarita.
Re-read the wiki on Firecracker Whiskey. Its vintage form does fire damage with ballistics, fire damage to you with melee. So it’s a drink that increases ballistic damage.
Assuming it adds “fire dmg” to any ballistic weapon your holding it would have been very useful for healing teammates and friendly NPCs in events where you need to keep them alive by using the “friendly fire” perk card.
There are only 4 ranged weapons (that come to mind) that can do that. So yeah a drink that can make all ballistics guns do fire damage would have been useful.
Plus fire dmg is currently fairly high in the game so just adding that to ballistic weapons alone would be a nice buff.
You kinda started spitting bars at 2:32 for a second, also please keep up the vids, love long form fallout lore to fall asleep to
Time to fall asleep to some re-uploads.
King I know I have said it before but I'm so glad you are still making fallout video's
Mountain Honey seems to fit a different category of alcohol entirely. The honey indicates to me that it's actually a type of Mead.
Edit: Bourbon is also a bit of a weird one cause yes, you're correct in the 51% corn content, however "Bourbon" is a specific naming convention based on a few other things. 1: it must be made in America. 2: it must be distilled at no higher than 180 proof, put into the barrel at no higher than 125, and bottled at no less than 80 proof. 3: it has to be aged in new, charred oak, barrels (no specific species, but White Oak is preferred). 3.5: To be called Kentucky Bourbon, it must be distilled in Bourbon County, Kentucky, and there's an old urban legend that no whiskey can be called Bourbon unless it's actually from Bourbon.
I think the fission battery in the moonshine is a reference to how battery acid being used in moonshine was a thing.
I dont think a fission battery would have acid like a traditional battery, but I'm not exactly an expert on that.
I do, however, have enough common sense to realize consuming battery acid takes a special sort of stupid.
Honey liquor is called mead, irrespective of whether it's fermented or distilled before consumption
The wormwood used in absynth imparts a mild hallucinogenic called thujone to the drink. This could be taken as the ingredient that increases perception
Absinthe has a perception boost because, if you drink enough of it, it can make you hallucinate and "perceive" things that others cant. Hope that helps. 😂😂😂
Which is untrue. It's just alcohol
@@picardsolo2471 thanks for the education. The hallucinatory effects are just from strong alcohol, but they're still hallucinatory effects.
@@Jaysin412 So, one could get it from any alcohol if they drank enough.
@@picardsolo2471 idk man, I've pounded a 5th of whiskey in less than 2 hours before and didn't trip. But saw the walls breathe like a 5 strip of acid, or a couple grams of mushrooms, on only a few drinks done right with absinthe, ya know, the whole burn the sugar, mix with water, and stir method and all that. Some people have different experiences is all I can chalk it up to, but hey, I'm sure its just the alcohol, but it's been documented as making people hallucinate for a very long time.
@@picardsolo2471 I've had straight from the still West Virginia mountain liquor at a fermentation site before, and had A LOT! lol, and still didn't hallucinate.
It's a bit weird that 76's rum is just water mixed with sugar and even more sugar, since Snaptail Reed is the plant that sugar is made out of, basically post-war Appalachia's version of sugarcane.
ah, my favorit topic! DRINKS!
(DISCLAIMER) dont do alcohol! its not worth it!!
fun fact, the amounts of X's on a bottle of moonshine shows the amount of times it has been distilled
Fun fact, a TH-cam channel called How To Drink made a version of the Sierra Madre Martini a few years ago
th-cam.com/video/YczNa5af5W8/w-d-xo.html yep it can be found here ~shed
I was very happy that you pointed out the accuracy of the recipe for bourbon
30:09 ABSOLUTE ROAST
Re-Edit? Okay, I'll watch again.
I noticed that Nuka Cola Cherry seems to be a meta healing item in Fallout 76. Can anyone tell me why that is?
Look at the stats.
Interesting. I just horde it. Never drinking, and taking up my precious stash space but I dont care. In loot games like these I always pick something to horde. Cherry is a fav flavor and so that influenced this
Tbh in a world where everything is dirty or radioactive, strong liquor would probably be one of the safer things to drink
I thought brandy was actually just distilled wine
Moonshine in fallout = Meth
Yesss love your videos! Also do you still play fallout 76?
Yes, although it tends to be sporadic. Do you play on PC?
I would love to see more cocktails using VIM ana Sunset Sarsaparilla.
Bro these "Saving Brachi" ads so sad they really be keeping me dehydrated and my eyes red 😭😭
Did you by any chance miss the moonshine jamboree event in fo76 regarding the moonshine discussion at the beginning.
I've mentioned it before in the original video, but instead of finding the Jake Juice at the Lucky 38, I found it in the trailer at Goodsprings Source. The location where you meet Barton Thorn. The guy who's "girlfriend" is being attacked by geckos.
I've only found it there once and didn't know about its existence. It's probably a bug and not a mod since I was playing New Vegas on the PS3 at the time.
That music tho Fallout has best atmosphere
Bobrov's best moonshine is not vodka, but another eastern European drink called Samogon. It technically can be called Moonshine.
I love Absinthe, although I'm still waiting for the green fairy to show up. ^^
Praise holy Atom!!! ☢️
mixed with skills like nerd rage where you have to be at half health to activate it I could see it used. Would I use it? No.
If your 50 miles fron your destination and you're driving 50 mph and every mile you decrease your by 1 mph, how long will it to drive that 50 miles?
Anyone got a favorite liqour that blends well with pears ?
Just cause some people may get curious at the worst of times, injection of alcohol, even clean and unflavored ethanol, can kill you in extremely small doses.
31:07 No, that right there is a Mike’s Hard Lemonade! Nobody’s ever gotten drunk off a Mike’s Hard Lemonade.
It's only got enough alcohol in it to make it taste worse than normal lemonade.
i have.............
so, is cranberry moonshine an actual thing in Vest virginia/virginia in irl modern times ?
I'm from east tennesse. Please look into how moonshine is actually made then compare it to fallout. It'll make more sense
Well, that took long enough.
I think you forgot beer and wine.
Or did I miss it on the list?
Yay

I usually subscribe after 3 good videos. I kinda feel bad cuz it's been way more then that. You get my subscription today.. but it's way late.
Honestly the only thing one could drink im Fallout is refined and cleansed water...
I wonder if you take firebelly like you would a Jell-O shot in a syringe

TH-cam, where you can't say the word alcohol but people can post hate speech without issue
makes sense
There is no such thing as hate speech, just speech you hate
@@Dctctxwhat? What about speech that expresses hatred and violence against a group of people?
@@picardsolo2471what about it? It’s protected by freedom of speech
@@Dctctx You're talking about it's legality. Hate speech as a concept is what I'm talking about. It's just meant to make people angry and motivated to alienate themselves and/or others.

how come it had to be redone?
Can't say alchohol i guess
I can agree that the Sierra Madre cloud residue drink is by far the worst. It’s giving diesel exhaust fluid vibes 😭🫠
Mmm, deer urine
@RUSTYCHEVYTRUCK Drinking reindeer urine for its hallucinogenic effects is a time honored North Pole tradition.
@@PunkZombie1300 wait what
@@RUSTYCHEVYTRUCK The North Pole bit is a joke, but reindeer urine can actually be hallucinogenic because of the mushrooms they eat, and people have drunk it to get high historically.
@@PunkZombie1300 I mean DEF being deer urine was kind of a meme when it was introduced but I didn’t know people drank piss to trip
