a lot of stuff in fallout 3, such as the blood packs, are pretty handily explained by the fact that it was originally meant to take place around 20ish years after the great war, not 200, and it was changed rather late in production

I think it is kind of incorrect to say that no groups are stated to be cannibals in Fo4, the super mutant are quite explicitly depicted as cannibals, e.g. the “decorations” in their locations and occasional human bones found in their loots.

Now that I’ve actually given Fallout 76 a chance (really good. Now, not even a year ago, but right now it’s finally in a playable state), and learned more about Wendigoes, it gives me more evidence to my speculation about what’s really going on with ‘Ghoulification’ What do Wendigoes have in common with Ghouls? Pretty much everything (perhaps Wendigoes don’t live as long, it remains to be seen until we get another Fallout game that features them), EXCEPT, ghouls are caused by Radiation, and Wendigoes by Cannabilism. And yet... it doesn’t really answer anything. Why do they transform so completely, and seemingly so common, as opposed to both circumstances just killing them like any human? The answer might not be based in logic and science, but something more... cosmic... darker... supernatural. If you’re familiar with Dark Souls lore, perhaps these aren’t transformations at all, maybe Ghouls and Wendigoes are *reversions* . A return to what all humans harbor deep within, our true origins, and maybe even... creators.
Even if it's a one-off interaction or unmarked quest, I would love it. Meet a Family member out in the wastes or bar somewhere. He asks for help with caps/supplies, saying he's trying to get back to his "Family" in Arefu.

9:00 I think it should be noted that the Vault 22 survivors were likely influenced or sick or infected at that time and were going mad (mentions of coughing fits). I think their cannibalism was directly a result of all the biological horror that happened in their vault. Even Randall seems extremely shocked that the "jumpsuit people" actually ate their prisoners.
Ok I have some issues with The Family. Ein only became like them after a head injury showing The Family may just share a mental issue. I'd like to know if it is a true mental issue or a mutation. Either way The Family could very easily target raiders and slavers so as not to kill innocent people.
I'm suprised you never mentioned that the restaurant the white gloves operate is called the gourmand. it makes me wonder if there's some connection to the gourmands in 76.

I remember staying at the bed & breakfast mountain side and it was normal when i got jumped until you go down the basement, it was very disturbing because of the body parts and bloody mess all over the room. Sadly i think either once you kill them, that basement room becomes clean and every body part and blood is removed unless Bethesda cleaned it idk
If the DLC contents are included, New Vegas had the various tribes that were cannibals. Then there are the Fiends that reference not only eating people, they terrorize people by eating them in front of each other. Honorable mention, New Vegas took it a step further with the Dog/God quest line and the fog people... That's nasty... Fallout 4 Had the far Harbor cannibal that was part of a settlement. The raiders at Nuka World are also cannibals. I'd argue the institute counts because they kidnap people for terrible experiments including harvesting gene material. Have you done a video on serial killers in the Fallout universe? I'm not sure if there's enough to make a video; I haven't played anything other than FO4 so far. I only know of two in FO4. There's the guy in Boston who hunts raiders and paints dark paintings (I can't remember his name) and one of the raider leaders in Nuka World (I think her name is Dixie).
I notice you left out how Strange meat and Strange meat pies can be found among the Gun runners in NV in this video was that because it's not really talked about in game how the Gun runners are eating people or is it more just more a oversight because you only really find it while doing one quest and it's easy to miss?
In Fallout 4 it is implied that the pack raiders from nuka world are cannibals since you can find "strange jerky" in their base
Also Gauge the raider companion doesn't react negatively to the player being a cannibal so he's likely been around others before.

I lost it at "roll tide" 😂😂😂😂😂😂. Been bringing your content for a bit now, keep up the great work. All hail atom, bask in his mighty glow brother.
30:32 The “Roll Tide” got me lol
I went fishing once, and no one called me a fisherman...
I went hunting once, and no one called me a hunter...
Oh, but let me eat just 1 neighbor...?!
Roll tide killed me haha. I did not expect that. Love the content!
Regarding Arefu, I actually always figured the "deal" you broker involves the people of Arefu donating blood to consume, not just searching for old blood packs. But I guess it's never actually stated either way.
a lot of stuff in fallout 3, such as the blood packs, are pretty handily explained by the fact that it was originally meant to take place around 20ish years after the great war, not 200, and it was changed rather late in production
Missed opportunity to name the title "Meat the cannibles of Fallout"
That damn 'rolltide' whisper during the andale section nearly made me choke on my hot dog
You can't do that shit to me, I was not expecting that at all
My man hit us with the "roll tide" after incestuous. I died.
The subtle Roll Tide had me rolling myself on the Andale bit lol Very nice.
Glad to see that Wendigo on the thumbnail, I was hoping to hear about 76's Trappers
Sad fact: the residents of Andale probably ate James Hargave's (the angry kid in Rivet City) father.
Stepping into the Andale basement felt like it was taken right out of The Road by Cormac McCarthy.
There is a random encounter in 76 where blood eagles call super mutant meat "close enough" to human meat
13:06 that is the most psychopathic smile I've ever seen
Also far harbor little small Bertha quest leads to clear a camp. Also has a guy offer you caps to turn in settlers to him for meat.
Andale is my favorite I also always forget where it's at so finding it on a playthrough is nice and talking philipe into a existential crisis is also awesome
I think it is kind of incorrect to say that no groups are stated to be cannibals in Fo4, the super mutant are quite explicitly depicted as cannibals, e.g. the “decorations” in their locations and occasional human bones found in their loots.
Strong has dialogue about which parts are the best and to be careful about fingers and toes getting stuck in the teeth.
There's also Malcom in Far Harbor with the hunger for "talking meat"
@@MediumRareOpinions True
yes but cannibalism refers to eating members of your own species. in my mind super mutants are no longer human. they dont even see themselves that way
forgot about that lol, but the human-eating super mutant is the closest to cannibals we have in fo4, i guess. As the mutants are “transformed” human.
@@milkbaologist5610 yes. unless you wanna count me going around eating people with the cannibal perk
Dude, screw wendigos! They're the reason I never explored half the damn map cause I'm always afraid they'll be in a f***ing tree and jump me.
They creep me out more than any other creature in the Fallout series, hands down.
Completely understandable. That actually happened to me when I puttered around Mire once, caught sight of it as it jumped down from a tree right next to me as I was running past and it scared the life out of me. That bit of PTSD always creeps up whenever I wander around there now. D:
Similar thing happened to me walking around in the savage divide one just jumped out of a tree and that is why my base is in the ash heap
I saw the mothman my first time after wandering a random direction, it just stared from behind a tree then phased away. Spookiest iv ever seen in FO games
But Radking, what better way to know Atom's glow than to consume that which he touched? We must sustain our bodies the same way his holy reaction was sustained, through the consumption of the self and others!
If you choose to help Mortimer but bring him a different person than Ted to butcher, I seem to remember you can even choose to sacrifice one of your own companions, right? I'd call that the most evil route to finish this quest.
"Sacrifice one of your human companions by going to the kitchen and locking them in the freezer. This will end the quest. Note: you will lose anything they are carrying."
Indeed
"Whats for dinner tonight?"
"Mike Donald."
"Oh, you mean McDonald's?"
"... Sure. You want barbecue sauce or ketchup with your McArm?"
Your upload schedule is absolutely insane and I love it.
30:26 "Roll Tide"
IM DEAD
Now that I’ve actually given Fallout 76 a chance (really good. Now, not even a year ago, but right now it’s finally in a playable state), and learned more about Wendigoes, it gives me more evidence to my speculation about what’s really going on with ‘Ghoulification’
What do Wendigoes have in common with Ghouls?
A return to what all humans harbor deep within, our true origins, and maybe even... creators.
I wasn't ready for that little Roll Tide 😂😂😂
Jack Smith. At 38:33 says something pretty damn critical/sus gut from that on it's a telling in what goes where
All of the Wendigos in Fallout 76 used to be cannibals.
The little "roll Tide" jab...Love it.
love the Arefu vampires! wish they (or similar) were used more in other games
Even if it's a one-off interaction or unmarked quest, I would love it.
Meet a Family member out in the wastes or bar somewhere. He asks for help with caps/supplies, saying he's trying to get back to his "Family" in Arefu.
Arefu is a commune in Romania btw :)
@@lilith5865 that's a super cool reference. Thanks.
You forgot about
The Pack
The Fiends
Trappers
East Coast Super Mutants (formerly human, therefore cannibalism)
19:22 Was not expecting a jumpscare 😂
Hyped to learn about the the cannonballs of fallout
Who doesn't love a good cannonball.
@@MillieBlackRose Captain Ironside would certainly approve
In Fallout 4 after you clear out echo lake lumber yard in far harbor there is this one guy that can make a deal with you that really sounds like you'll send settlers there for him to loot and eat
Me: *Clicking on Patreon...*
Rad: If you aren't a cannibal...
Me: Awwww.
Ok I have some issues with The Family. Ein only became like them after a head injury showing The Family may just share a mental issue. I'd like to know if it is a true mental issue or a mutation. Either way The Family could very easily target raiders and slavers so as not to kill innocent people.
Greetings Radking, thank you for all this wondrous content.
I'm suprised you never mentioned that the restaurant the white gloves operate is called the gourmand. it makes me wonder if there's some connection to the gourmands in 76.
I assumed they were and over time cannibalism wasn't as necessary to survive but was also not frowned upon and still done when fighting with other tribes. Since it wasn't necessary to survive it was easier to turn away from that lifestyle.
@@MillieBlackRose but if we're to assume the gourmands and white gloves come from the same group. how and when did they travel all the way to the Mojave?
"No we're not talking about Tide-Pods." caught me of guard.
Thank you radking for making these videos for us!
Man I never played 76 but I remembered it dropping with no npcs so I was so confused when he was mentioning npcs from the game, looks like Betheseda was told to quit being lazy and put em in
I might be wrong about this but I think the 76 bed and breakfast might be a reference to the landlady as both are safe seeming bed and breakfastes that charge very low give free stuff and have evil intentions
The vault 22 dwellers might of been influenced by the pesticide it just doesn’t make sense for them to be cannibals switch how Zion has wild life and lots if plant life
In fairness, Zion was still recovering, so plant and animal life wouldn't be as abundant as it is during FNV just yet. It's possible they had no idea if the plants were poisonous or not too, but this is just speculation on my part.
I didnt expect a ranking but 10/10. I like the Family but I have a big vampire bias. I think Doc Morbid is pretty interesting too
I wonder what the level of kuru is among the cannibals of the Wasteland?
Must have been an outbreak in Appalachia, explains how wendigoes are different than ghouls.
I can see why such a thing would change their mutation but Kuru is fatal.
@@MillieBlackRose According to the national institutes of health someone with kuru will die within 1-2 years of showing symptoms. Enough time to mutate. And that's assuming wendigoes aren't ghouls who got kuru and mutated further.
Hey I am a big fallout fan and I am enjoying your videos so far and I am new to your videos and keep up the good work
In FO4 if you’re playing in survival and have the cannibal perk you’ll develop a “dark craving” where it acts like an addiction. Your hunger meter can only be filled by eating people, you still benefit from other food for hp and buffs but your hunger is only satisfied by cannibalism
Glad to wake up and watch another RadKing video
You forgot the one specific Trapper from Far Harbor that offers you a deal where you send people to a village and he implies he will hunt and eat them. Malcolm
Isnt there a guy in fo4 far harbor at one of the settlements that you can agree to feed settlers to?
Also does eating ghouls count, because there's that meat packing plant that is feeding people ghoul meat in fo4
Huzzah second comment. Is there enough info to do a kellog video? Like how long has he been kicking around the wasteland? Also in response to your laser weapon way back, granted it's not stated but they may have run into production limitations and had to balance as, best they could, cost effectiveness and damage output for thier grunts so they weren't spending even more resources on lower level assets.
My #1 is the player character, since you can choose to be a cannibal during your playthrough. ...Not that I ever take that perk! Nope, not me!
Can I Eat You 🍽️
A fallout raider story based game might be cool. Showing how someone gets thrown into such a fucked situation and then turns into the worst of the worst, really could encapsulate the true struggle of the Wasteland in a more morbid way
I mean the sole survivor did basically that tho lol. Your description is awful close to the story of the sole survivor after/ during nuka world
@@abrahamwashington8579 yawn
4:31 is that a MG42?
I just got done killing the people in Andale in my playthrough lol, perfect timing
Last time I played 76 I saw the hotel and that there where people inside so I thought I was gonna get a good rest in a room and then when I go to lay down instantly the cannibals start talking about eating you yes I tried to off the chick behind the counter even tho she said she was forced to do it😂
I remember staying at the bed & breakfast mountain side and it was normal when i got jumped until you go down the basement, it was very disturbing because of the body parts and bloody mess all over the room. Sadly i think either once you kill them, that basement room becomes clean and every body part and blood is removed unless Bethesda cleaned it idk
The best part of the White Glove Society is Mr House's reaction to them turning back to Cannibalism. He wasn't mad... just disappointed.
They are consuming people in a different matter, but still consuming them nonetheless.
Fallout 4 also had the meat packing plant with the ghouls in the food. Even though ghouls are abhuman, they are still people. That's nasty...
Just a few missed...
When I was playing 76, I got into the mine and while waiting there to jump into the shaft everyone started breaking out power armor and I had missed the memo
i had no idea that it was possible to get house to sign off on wiping out of the casinos....
andale freaked me out when i first saw it, the people were weird and i dont think i actually found out the truth behind it till a few visits later doing other stuff
i would have to agree with you that the white gloves are the "best" even though the quest can be buggy its still pretty fun to do.
Are the White Gloves original tribe name mentioned? I sorta believe that 76 decided that the surviving Gourmands left, some made it to New Vegas, and eventually became the White Gloves
Ya I could belive that.
Thank you for another banger RadDaddy
I read "cannibals" as "cannabis" and it made me chuckle
So did I
Well damn, my character in fo4 is gonna throw out those 200 iguana bits
Love your content ❤keep up the great work. Really got a bite out of this video 😅
Damn, Morris is actually kinda sad, that brief moment of sanity and mourning in the holotape is really good
That is so funny, i was going to make a joke about how realistic it is to have cannibals in appalachia but u already made it for me.
Cooper Howard: "Ass jerky don't make itself."🔪🥓
I’ll never forget Andale.
Hey there stranger couldn't help but notice you been poking around in bill's shed.
Found what you were looking for?
There is the guy named Malcolm at the Echo Lake Lumber Mill in Far Harbor who openly admits to being a cannibal.
I believe there is an error in the inventory spawning lists that makes those spawn. It can also be found by mistake in Mick and Ralph's shop
@@MediumRareOpinions if it's an error and never been patched then it's a fact
@@DCPTF2 well a lot of things never got patched, there's a Perk that flat out doesn't work that's still broken.
This is why I subscribed, it was even better the 2nd time
